POPSTwenty-seven dead in drug rehab massacres This article gives a unique Mexican twist to a pair of horrendous massacres. Government-run drug rehab clinics are used as distribution centers by the narco and as infiltration points by police. This fact makes the week's massacres at least intelligible to non Mexicans.

POPSBuried at Wounded Knee - Fasting for Leonard Leonard who? Leonard Peltier was a mover and shaker in the American Indian Movement. He was THE SCAPEGOAT for a government operation designed to discredit AIM as a quasi-terrorist, criminal group, in the same way they suppressed black consciousness by criminalizing the Black Panthers and killing Huey Newton. Leltier was not killed but has been in prison for years for supposedly shooting and killing an FBI agent with a broken rifle and the lies (now admitted) of someone who was there. What would it feel like to be invisible? Read this and find out.

POPSThe Governor Palin 'scoop du jour' leads to other questions about elitism, ethics, public health and the insufferable phoniness that plagues politics and politicians. Can you believe the latest scandal over Sarah Palin? She installed a tanning bed in the governor's mansion and -- what's worse -- she paid for the contraption with her own money! The latest scandal over Sarah Palin was first reported by a couple of left-wing nuts at Narco News, an online publicaton that in the past I've seen putting out pro-Hugo Chavez propaganda. Here's the spin on the tanning bed scandal from Narco News: "A politician emerges, we are told, from humble roots and pledges to restore America’s small town family values and represent the common man and woman." And yet all along, the story continues, she's using a tanning bed! It's all on par, according to NarcoNews, with John Edward's $400 haircut!

POPSColombian drug lord killed by security forces The brothers' empire evolved amid a murky nexus between Colombia's narco-trafficking mafias and right-wing militia groups, which were battling left-wing guerrillas. The militias supposedly disbanded under a peace deal with the government, but the Mejias remained fugitives ... Guardian Opportune 'success' given the scandals of late in the right-wing Columbian governments.

POPSToo Late For Pelosi?
Make no mistake: Latin American leaders will take notice. There is currently an ideological struggle raging across the region. While the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, tries to export his populist-authoritarian "revolution" — he has found eager clients in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Nicaragua — Colombia continues to show that democracy and free markets offer the best path to economic and social progress. Until a few years ago, the narco-terrorists appeared to be gaining ground and pushing Colombian democracy toward the point of collapse. Bogotá, Medellín, and other cities were being ripped apart by chaos and violence. But thanks to the resilience of the Colombian people, huge amounts of American aid money, and, most critically, the courageous leadership of the president of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe, the country has begun to turn the tide in its decades-long battle. This is the only approach that can yield sustainable results in the quest for democratic and social improvement.

POPSFor now: just remember, half the story The peace talks had to be stopped. Peace in Columbia at this point does not suit the US drug runners so they assassinate the main peace maker of FARC, an old man. So will we have another Kosovo in Columbia? Oh sorry, only the USA can create new states and they already have a narco drug state in Columbia!

Drugs were discovered in the past on US military transport air planes out of Columbia. It was claimed that it was crooked personal. Having been arrested by the Colombians in a sting operation, they were flown home to America pronto. No cases were taken. afterwards
