POPS"The Gift of the Magi & O. Henry I have not heard of this story or seen anything about it since I saw it as a child. It made me cry then and it does now. The story indeed tells of the genuine self-sacrifice of true love.

POPSDecember is Prius Owners Intellectual Deficiency Awareness Month Please remember to wear your gray ribbon. I met 2 in one day last week. I actually felt myself get stupider standing next to them. I quickly departed. But, this is no laughing matter, folks. This disease is quickly spread by ignorance, narcissism, arrogance and greed. The only known cure is a drastic increase in IQ, not easily achieved.

POPSObama's Malignant Narcissism
When Obama runs into brick walls, he seems to reflexively go into a state of rage. The same thing will happen to Obama if and when he loses the election in 2012. Since narcissists in power keep people around them in a constant state of fear -- everybody gets targeted and feels insecure -- you can expect a ton of dirty tricks in elections to come. But then Democrats constantly use dirty tricks. I fear two things with Obama. One is if the GOP fails to elect a House majority in 2010 to keep Obama within the bounds of sanity. A GOP majority is essential for the safety of the country and the world. But even if Obama is defeated in 2012, he will just turn into an angrier version of Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. He will haunt the political future of this country as long as he is alive, because that famished ego never gets enough. Malignant narcissism often gets worse over time. So even if the voters throw out this very dangerous cult-like administration, you can expect Obama to be poppi

POPSHalf a president The context of the article is the difference between a monarchy and a democracy and that Obama views himself as a 'head of state' rather than a President. The article mentions the traditional criticisms of the US by Europe but they also recognize their need for strong, dependable leadership in America...and they know it's not here.

POPS Mr. President, Please Stay Off TV Obamabots are still upset at the audacity of George Stephanopoulos for daring to ask The One if forcing people to buy health insurance was simply a new tax... "Stephanopoulos : That may be, but it's still a tax increase. Tele-POTUS : No. That's not true, George. For us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it's saying is, is that we're not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore than the fact that right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. People say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that if you hit my car, that I'm not covering all the costs. Stephanopoulos : But it may be fair, it may be good public policy... Tele-POTUS : No, but " but, George, you " you can't just make up that language and decide that that's called a tax increase. Any...

POPSGen Y sees narcissism as a key to 'success' shame on all the adults who have created a world that breeds this type of thinking. I don't what it's going to take, but i think they're going to learn the hard way that when you only look out for yourself, you end up very much alone. You also have to really be concerned about how 'succeeding' is being defined here - i mean, is everything only measured by money now?!?

POPSNarcissism is all around us. I'm anxious about finding a job. That means I can't make it all about me. I need to keep in mind God's greater goals.

POPSObama, the Narcissist I've been making this claim for some time, and it good to finally read an expert opinion on the source of Obama-ology. Its NOT that Obama doesnt think hes doing the right thing. He merely doesnt see the world through the scope of what his actions truly mean. For example, Obama ask us all to bond together to raise each of our boats, yet he lets his own family sink into depths of perverty like none weve known.

POPS What A Load! All leftist progressive policy positions are ultimately intended to enhance the power of progressive statists at the expense of personal freedom; the only exception being the freedom to gratify oneself sexually without consequences. Are conservatives greedy? Yeah, some are, but not nearly as greedy as progressives, and not to the point where selfishness and greed are at the root of conservative politics. People argue that tax cuts are greedy, but the real motivation is to stimulate economic activity (which benefits everyone) and limit government power (starve the beast). Conservatives want to reduce and limit government power; which is an unselfish position for a political movement. The desire to have power over others, to force them to adopt your lifestyle, force them to live by your values… that is ultimate selfishness. That is progressive liberalism.

POPSYou bastards, you've killed us all! We have phony rich people (with interest-only mortgages and piles of debt), phony beauty (with plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures), phony athletes (with performance-enhancing drugs), phony celebrities (via reality TV and YouTube), phony genius students (with grade inflation), a phony national economy (with $11 trillion of government debt), phony feelings of being special among children (with parenting and education focused on self-esteem), and phony friends (with the social networking explosion). All this fantasy might feel good, but, unfortunately, reality always wins. The mortgage meltdown and the resulting financial crisis are just one demonstration of how inflated desires eventually crash to earth.

POPSAncient Greece's 'global warming'
Again, the Woodstock generation's thirst for specialness is way beyond narcissism. Plimer too recognizes: "The Mycenaean civilization fell at the expense of the rise of the Assyrian, Phoenician and Greek civilisations. Records from Troy show that it was cold, with famine around 1259 to 1241 BC and no recovery until 800 BC." However, I wonder if celebrities and pop scientists are capable of humbling themselves and seeing themselves as small-bit actors, specks of sand, in a larger play, spanning thousands of years, where cool periods and warm periods, visit us. One day, the Hollywood generation (and I'm singling out limousine lefties here), will thank their lucky stars, or whatever they worship, that they missed the cold Dark Ages, for it was "a terrible time to be around." Just read about the weather of Constantinople by Procopius, or similar observations made from a more southern city by one John of Ephesus. Plimer adds: "Around 540 AD, trees almost stopped growi

POPSInstead of laughing at Arod, maybe we should feel bad for him. If the way he's described below is true, then i honestly don't think there is anything to laugh about. Despite being a great ballplayer, he obviously has very low self-esteem and confidence. What's funny about this? Believe me, i've poked fun at A-rod for years, seeing through his odd body language and facial expressions...seeming to exist on a frequency all to himself. But, at the end of the day, he's human. And if what causes him to act so weird is a deep insecurity about himself, than i feel bad for him like i would anyone else who suffers from that feeling.

POPSNarccissism - Diagnosis by an Expert Narcissists are highly self-sufficient and consider themselves peerless. Their "friends", companions, and acolytes provide them with an obsequious, unthreatening audience- with the kind of unconditional and unthinking obedience that confirms to him his omnipotence. They are sufficiently vacuous to make the narcissist look sharp and omniscient – but not so much as to be easily discernible as the sycophants that they are. They form the perfect backdrop, never likely to attain centre stage and overshadow their master... i.e. Robert Gibbs.

POPS Lt.Col.(R) Allen B.West Calls For AG Holder's Immediate Resignation on every opportunity this Country could afford, is pure foolishness. It also represents a malicious narcissism and hypocrisy from someone purported to be of great education. I am a West Man, third of four generations of military servicemen; Dad World War II combat wounded veteran, older Brother Vietnam Marine combat wounded veteran, my serving 22 years active duty in 13 different countries and three combat zones, and my young nephew, Captain Herman Bernard West, commanding an artillery unit serving his second tour in Afghanistan. We are proud American black Men who certainly are not indicative of a “nation of cowards”. Holder’s comments are offensive to the legacy my Dad established for our family. Attorney General Holder, do not ever refer to my Country with such manner of disrespect. I have stood with Americans in many foreign lands, seen them everyday across this Nation, and we are not cowards!

POPSDesparation All Too Real In the end, the big reveal of "Real Housewives" is that there is no big reveal, beyond the news flash that money does not make you happy or nice or even very interesting. This is 2009. There is no poetry in the suburbs, no art to be gleaned from the battle between society and the individual. Society won, pal, and what's wrong with that? t's hard not to worry, just a little, that given the tanking economy, the wives and their gated communities may soon be stormed by disgruntled O.C. peasants bearing pitchforks and tiki torches. But even if "Real Housewives" does make it through the lean times, these women will no doubt remain right where we all want them to be: trapped in the fabulous shabbiness of their lives, having conversations that run back and forth like trained rats along dim and narrow mazes of the mundane."
