POPSLiving in the Bible Belt What may seem unconscionable to most Americans is the rule of thumb in the Bible Belt. Most people I meet every day most likely would agree that anyone who doesn't believe in God is not fit to hold public office. People simply do not think these non-believers stand on firm moral ground.

POPSEnough is Enough!!! Free the Scott Sisters! I've personally taken the time to look into this case. I've read through the court transcripts.... the whole thing makes me sick! I'll gladly share more links for anyone who reads this, and finds it disturbing enough to investigate on their own.

POPSThe destruction of the black middle class More: Yet in the depths of this African American depression, some commentators, black as well as white, are still obsessing about the supposed cultural deficiencies of the black community. In a December op-ed in the Washington Post, Kay Hymowitz blamed black economic woes on the fact that 70 percent of black children are born to single mothers, not noticing that the white two-parent family has actually declined at a faster rate than the black two-parent family. The share of black children living in a single parent home increased by 155 percent between 1960 to 2006, while the share of white children living in single parent homes increased by a staggering 229 percent. Just last month on NPR, commentator Juan Williams dismissed the NAACP…The fact that there is an ongoing recession disproportionately affecting the African American middle class – and brought on by Wall Street greed rather than "ghetto" values – seems to have eluded him.

POPSSarah Palin: NAACP Racist
It was at this point that the Secret Service was about to remove Palin, thinking she was an impostor and a threat to the President. However, she produced her NRA lifetime membership card, and the removal was halted since the threat was only deemed to be against the Republican party. Michael Musto, columnist for the "Village Voice", was covering the NAACP event and asked Palin why she thought she would be allowed to speak. "I never thought I would be allowed to speak," Palin replied, "because while the NAACP has done some good, the issue has to be addressed that they are racist. So why would they let me, a white person and a woman, speak?" Musto asked why this was? "Correct me if I'm wrong, it's the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. White is a color, but how many white people in this organization's 100 years have been members? And I'll give you one better, how many have been President? We have finally elected an African American President, so isn't it time t

POPSIsrael Expands Settlements, plus...
This makes the "showdown," with the Obama Administration very clear...and the other nations in the EU who want to end Israeli practice of apartheid, collective punishment, treaty violations, destruction of Arab homes, farms and industry, expansion of settlements. The slow starvation of over a million and a half people in the Gaza Strip also continues and more info about ruthless Israeli war crimes continues to be revealed. Just two days ago Obama made a powerful positive statement about Jews...at the 100th Anniversary of the civil rights fighting group: NAACP. ...talking about how "black and white, christians and jews, all worked together then for black voting and civil rights. The truth of this strikes a good chord. BUT....there are also lies behind this charade. We can go with the truth of multicultural respect and cooporation (as Obama did with that historical anniversary speech) - or we go with Israel and Jews continuing to oppose Obama where the charade of non-racism c

POPSObama speaks to NAACP, on 100th Anniversary
OMG! In the last two days, after his busy week overseas, the President came back and right away was fighting strong and hard to get a national health care plan for USA citizens (we don't have one). While there are so many doubters, so many critics, and so many opponents and enemies to his presidency he keeps on blasting them away and moving forward. Now, today, he spoke at this 100th Anniversary of one of the USA's most noted black civil rights group. Just that made it an event: the first Afro-American president speaking to the NAACP...and on their 100th anniversary. It was good, for sure...but near the end when he refered to last week being is the Slaver's Fort in Ghana and went on from there (starting with the hypocrisy of a church at the slave fort the slave traders built for themselves) -- and went on to those noted activist who fought and died for black civil rights and got into the whole MLK or M_Ali no holds barred fullness of it all ---- simply mind blowing! POPSDidn’t hear a lot about this in the lamestream media? I didn’t, either. I wonder why – well, no, I don’t. Ya gotta wonder where the widespread “outrage” was from lefties when Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) went on record as saying that the House’s moment of silence for Jackson made him feel “close to nauseated” enough to leave the House floor and go to the cloakroom? For the record, I don't believe this makes Yarmuth a racist or a hater. He had an opinion that probably would have been better to keep to himself. He should have stayed through the "moment," and moved on. Had this man been a conservative, it would have made every MSM headline, every social network would be on fire, and the libs of the land would outraged, sickened, disgusted, horrified. Amazing what that one letter after someone's name can do. The hypocrisy is staggering.

POPSMost Charities Supported by a Pop Star Much of the proceeds of his records and tours were donated to charities devoted to African relief, college scholarships and HIV/AIDS. In 1992, he founded the Heal the World Foundation to relieve the suffering of children around the world. His “Dangerous World Tour” that year gave him the opportunity, in his own words, to “visit children around the world, as well as spread the message of global love, in the hope that others will be moved to do their share to help heal the world.” In 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records cited Michael Jackson for holding the world record for the “Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star.”

POPSNAACP vs. Obama The NAACP people have to bust their ass to come up with another place - and they do, finally, finding an armory in Harlem. There's no air conditioning, however, and we are talking New York in July here. The governor steps in and says he'll provide temporary air conditioning. The White House then says, "OK, but we want to change the time - 2 p.m. for the president's speech is not acceptable anymore. We want 5 o'clock." The NAACP says, wait a minute - this speech is supposed to take place on the biggest day of the convention, the day we hold the awards banquet. If Obama goes on at 5 p.m., we'll have to bus hundreds of people from the downtown Hilton all the way up to Harlem, two or three hours before the president arrives. Then we'll have to bus everyone back and get everyone into their black ties for the awards dinner. We can't do that. So those little bitty people in the NAACP send back the message: Advise him that it's 2 o'clock and we hope he shows. Nice one Obama.

POPSRacist jokes may have lasting impact on S.C. GOP When will the GOP, especially in the South, begin to realize that this kind of racist crap is losing them support across the country? Probably not in the foreseeable future, because this kind of racism seems to be in their DNA.

POPSMan arrested for "endangering" officers with camera prepares for trial This would be laughable if it weren’t happening virtually everywhere. You might ask “why would a cop arrest someone for videotaping a police action?” Evidently, police don’t like having their photos taken while doing their jobs. Why? Because they feel threatened that the photo can incriminate them? But, how can a photo incriminate you if you are doing nothing improper? If they are not using excessive force, if they are performing their duty without endangering the safety of others then where is the problem? If you acquire video or photographic evidence that warrants an official investigation, create and secure copies of the evidence, then forward it to local police monitoring groups such as civilian review boards, ACLU, and NAACP chapters And get legal representation for yourself in case the police department retaliates against you.

POPSLiddy: Hope Sotomayor's "not menstruating" C'mon right wing. You owe it to America to make a clean break with the kooks, and to stop keeping them in business. Bravo to Cornyn, Sessions, and Hatch who have criticized Limbaugh and Gingrich. If La Raza is racist, so is the NAACP.

POPSTop 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes (Leader of the Rebubbacan Party)
9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve. 10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

POPSHalle Berry’s Rare Underboob Sighting The NAACP Awards were last night, I didn’t watch them because I was shampooing the rugs but I’ve got some nice pictures of Halle Berry’s underboob if it makes you feel any better. Underboob is a rare and beautiful site, it’s very hard to find out in the wild, like unicorns and blond asian chicks.

POPSNAACP calls for firing of NY Post cartoonist Characterizing the NAACP as opportunists in this case is wrong-minded. The general public is not ignorant of the fact that linking blacks with monkeys has been a racial slur for ages. Both the cartoonist himself and the editor both knew full well how this cartoon would be perceived and chose to run it anyway. It is repugnant to still find this type of blatant racism forced onto the public and it is an affront to our collective intelligence for these individuals to expect us to believe they did not present it in a racist manner. The media is considered a voice of the people that seeks to reach or influence the public. This type of back alley behavior is to be vehemently condemned. We strive to be a civil society, any media that is allowed to ‘get away’ with blatant racism runs counter to that goal. I enjoy political humor, I do not enjoy unmasked racial slurs such as can be found in this particular cartoon. It demeans us all.
