POPSA "single Muslim authority in Europe" "Elsewhere in the piece, the author makes the link between Islam as a “universal” religion and Muslims as “global citizens”. There is, in other words, a specific link between the proposal, which amounts to the creation of a global caliphate although Ceric does not use this term, and the general cosmopolitan ideology of globalism of which European integration is a key part. To put it bluntly, the stronger national identities, the weaker Islamic identity – and vice-versa."

Some of these sound very familiar. Such a person as this is invited to speak at our *universities* to present their ideologies and anti-Americanism...and then those who disagree with them rise up in response and protest and are called intolerant, racists, ignorant, backwards, etc... This is called sowing the seeds for our own destruction. The very freedoms that make us great are being used to bring up (and out) the very worst from within us.

POPSIslam and Secularism Volkhard Krech, professor for religious studies , has come to the conclusion that some religious traditions, such as Judaism and Protestantism, represent "secularization factors." Other faiths, such as Islam and evangelical churches have a tendency to combine a strong sense of both national and religious identity, mixing politics with religion. The Berlin Islamic scholar Gudrun Krämer made clear that a "massive rejection" of secularism prevails in most Muslim countries. In Islamic discourse, secularization is regarded as a "hostile takeover" of Muslim society. Instead of the notion of the separation of religion and state, the idea of "empowerment" is stressed. Islam calls for believers to actively participate in the power structures of the state. As a mixture of nationalism and Islamism, the so-called "national Jihad" is pushing its way into the political arena and has given birth to the notion of the "Islamic welfare state."

POPSRural America - Bastions of Hate` What's up with rural Americans? They can't be this easily led or this abjectly ignorant. Or can they? Yes, racism and bigotry are alive and thriving in America.

POPSInternational change without imposing Western values Muslim women and Christian women together: A marvelous paragraph from an author who wrote of the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, whose election was made possible by a movement led by devout Muslim and devout Christian women working together.

POPSThe Future of Europe is at Play "The unprecedented nature of Europe's situation also renders a forecast exceedingly difficult. Never in history has a major civilization peaceably dissolved, nor has a people ever risen to reclaim its patrimony. Europe's unique circumstances make them difficult to comprehend, tempting to overlook, and virtually impossible to predict. With Europe, we all enter into terra incognita."

POPSDoes it Undo the Christian and Muslims, too? If it proves that the Exodus is a MYTH then so is the bible. Then so is Christianity and the Muslim faith. And they all know it. Now its not about faith. It's about hoax!!! They should be in court as crooks but the courts too have their vested interest. Think of it as proving to children that there is a Father Christmas. Ok, no one is defrauded or cheated like these religions founded on myth not faith. And all this knowledge arose from attempting to prove that the European Jews had some right to the land of Israel. No matter how creative they have been, all their archaeology efforts have proven is the opposite to their theory. The Zionist have succeeded in one thing. Bringing archaeology into disrepute! And religion!

POPSPope meets with Iran-based Muslim group, method for dialogue agreed on 4. "Both sides agreed to further co-operate in order to promote genuine religiosity, in particular spirituality, to encourage respect for symbols considered to be sacred and to promote moral values." 5. "Christians and Muslims should go beyond tolerance, accepting differences, while remaining aware of commonalties and thanking God for them. They are called to mutual respect, thereby condemning derision of religious beliefs." 6. "Generalization should be avoided when speaking of religions. Differences of confessions with Christianity and Islam, diversity of historical contexts are important factors to be considered." 7. "Religious traditions cannot be judged on the basis of a single verse or a passage present in their respective holy Books. A holistic vision as well as an adequate hermeneutical method is necessary for a fair understanding of them".

POPSZiauddin Sardar on the Quilliam Foundation for ex-jihadis Sardar, whose writing I am only a little bit familiar with, is highly critical of any "lionizing" of former members of Islamic extremist groups, since it implicitly devalues the commitment to peace and pluralism exhibited by most "ordinary" Muslims.

POPSOlivier Roy: Europe's difficulties with its Muslims a subject of oversimplification Olivier Roy is one of the most renowned experts on political Islam. In this interview with Michael Hesse, he talks about religious fundamentalism, Islam in Europe, and explains why the Muslim middle classes in the West ought to be recognized as a western faith community, not as an alien culture: the modern brands of fundamentalism (wahhabism, but also protestant evangelicalism) are not the product of traditional cultures, but on the contrary the product of a crisis of traditional cultures, the product of deculturation and globalization. Religious tensions are linked with the crisis of traditional cultures, and are not their expression. Deutsche Fassung: Interview mit Olivier Roy - "Radikale Muslime sind verwestlicht"

POPSBush: No more Islamist jihads. Obliterated are jihadists, mujahideen, Islamofascist. So no more "glamorising terrorism, or imbues terrorists with religious authority they do not have and so damaging relations with Muslims around the world." Pity he didn't realize this BEFORE he sullied America's name in the Muslim world. Bit late now to smell the grass. You might expect to know what you should call your Muslim friends now. Well 'the memo warns: "Don't compromise our credibility" by using words and phrases that may ascribe benign motives to terrorists' but no useful info for the few neocon clippers. I expect it'll be back to swiftboating now.
