POPSHow MI5 Recruits Muslims: Blackmails as Terror Suspects to Employ This is an interesting article in light of the New York "alleged terror plot" story, and shows how government agents coerce to recruit, as agents, double agents, or even patsies, by use of threats, as well as financial rewards, for their particular purposes. This in fact is how "terrorists" recruit, by threatening the peace and lives of others they want to use and employ for their missions! Using these men as patsies, after arming them, in "role play" scenarios, is how it becomes a "terror plot" headline later for media consumption. "When people are terrorised by the very same body that is meant to protect them, sowing fear, suspicion and division, we are on a slippery slope to an Orwellian society."

POPSChristians and Muslims Celebrate Christmas Holidays In Baghdad Even before I can ask Interior Ministry spokesman Major-General Abdul Karim Khalaf a question, he greets me with a big smile. "All Iraqis are Christian today!" he says. Many of the people attending the Christmas celebration appear to be Muslims, with women wearing head scarves. Suad Mahmoud, holding her 16-month-old daughter, Sara, tells me she is indeed Muslim, but she's very happy to be here. "My mother's birthday also is this month, so we celebrate all occasions," she says, "especially in this lovely month of Christmas and New Year." Father Saad Sirop Hanna, a Chaldean Christian priest, is here too. He was kidnapped by militants in 2006 and held for 28 days. He knows firsthand how difficult the lot of Christians in Iraq is but, he tells me, "We are just attesting that things are changing in Baghdad, slowly, but we hope that this change actually is real. We will wait for the future to tell us the truth about this."

If we believe that the few Muslim terrorists represent the entire religion, we must then go to the absurdity of believing that we should boycott all Christmas stamps because some Christian extremists destroyed the federal building in Oklahoma City and murdered 178 and wounded more than 800."

POPSFirst they came for... Christians have their seminaries. They also have their Christian plays, music, holidays in the schools. Neither are nuns persecuted for their modest attire. I wish the same existed for ALL people. Double standards are justifications. And moral action NEVER requires qualification. If freedom does not exist for all, its just a matter of time when tyrants come for all others. And no one is left to speak up.
