POPSMusic and art mixed in the stone age The sound of a cave's echo when singing would have sounded good, and percussion instruments are good to help a few singers sing to the same beat. Art is another form of communication, They would have sang about things that they identified with, but theres something about people that makes them want to keep a record, to show others what has been going on. Stories can change, but art can be permanent. A way to show the children and descendants how they lived, and the cave paintings could showing how, and what to hunt.

POPSTributes For Healey Amazing musician. I once saw him play at Terra Blues in NYC and just blowing the place apart. Will be sadly missed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqU9RZqvFKY

POPSsocial "science" definition of groove classic example of the manner in which the terms groove, rhythm, tempo & timing are thrown around without *real* meaning. That which means everything means nothing. Also to note: the selfish bitchiness of each area: teh music therapists, the social scientists, the biological physicists - all screming to the sky--NOT to each other.

POPSWill Self "walks" to Touluse... Will self, inspired by this movie, decides to get from London to Toulouse and back only by walking and taking the trains. It's always interesting to try walking places when we would normally take a car. The juxtaposition against the rapid yet somehow antique transport by rail is very interesting. Sorry to clip from Times Select, which means if you want to click through to the link the New York TImes will probably want money, but I really enjoy Will Self's writing.
