POPS'Pull My Finger' subject of court fight Air-o-Matic says its app, "Pull My Finger" has a unique brand identity that its competitor has infringed. It wants $50,000 from Infomedia to settle the dispute and may sue in federal court. In a formal complaint filed in a Denver, Colorado, federal court, however, InfoMedia says the phrase is a common "descriptive" term used in its advertising and cannot be trademarked. The company wants a judge to step in now, before any lawsuit is filed, and allow it to continue to use the phrase.

POPSDocumentary makers look for the next eco-blockbuster The film unfolds like a mystery, with Mr Clover as detective. The film-makers travel to Nova Scotia, the Bahamas, Tokyo and the Mediterranean, as well as to a small village in west Africa whose supply of fish has been halved in recent years as a result of over-fishing. Ignorance, corruption and greed all play a part. As Robert Redford, founder of the Sundance film festival, says: “Just explaining the problem isn’t enough. You have to show what people can do about the problem.”

POPSIt's, it's, it's... Out of the Park! While record companies complain and file lawsuits against music lovers, Apple tried something different and now makes more from iPhones than computers and is up in the Wal-Mart region for music sales. Score one for trying a new model. I wonder who will be the one to do this for The Assembly Line School?

POPSThe Daily Show vs. Blovation Fest 2008! I've been watching the Daily Show since its first episode, and I started taking it serriously when Jon upped the IQ quotient by replacing Craig Killborne. Now the show pretty much only does indie film makers, political wonks, and third world presidents. How cool is that? The only people who do more serious interviews are Charlie Rose and Bill Moyers, and actually, Bill Moyers described Jon as "The Mark Twain of our time." But why did I clip? for the "Blovation Fest" Quote, which by the way, will be the festival of avant garde noise-punk music I attempt to put on this fall. ;)

Will people in the UK will give up their free handsets in favour of an iphone? If reports are correct a million of the US model have already been sold in its home market Meanwhile the iphone is still yet to be released in Australia.
