POPS'The Axis of Idiots' - note from a Retired Marine You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did to the Vietnamese. Iraq, like Vietnam, is another war that you were for, before you were against it. John Murtha, you said our military was broken. You said we can't win militarily in Iraq. You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa. Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert! Are you sure you didn't suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume? You're a sad, pitiable, corrupt and washed up politician. You're not a Marine, sir. You wouldn't amount to a good pimple on a real Marine's butt. You're a phony and a disgrace. Run away, John.

POPSReport: Dozens in Congress Under Ethics Scrutiny The inquiry involves lawmakers who steered appropriations to clients of a now-defunct lobbying firm and received campaign contributions from the firm and its clients. The names included three lawmakers previously identified in the inquiry: the chairman of the defense subcommittee, Murtha; and Reps. Peter Visclosky, D-Ind., and James Moran, D-Va. The Post said others whose names were in the report included Reps. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, C.W. Bill Young, R-Fla., and Todd Tiahrt, R-Kan. The committee, however, has not announced an investigation of any of these lawmakers. A committee statement said its security was breached through "peer to peer file sharing software" by a junior employee who was working from home. The staff member was fired. The committee said it is investigating whether Rep. Maxine Waters used her influence to help a bank in which her husband owned stock, and whether the couple benefited as a result.

POPSDozens of House members scrutinized, report shows Well, well, well....a leak I like. We've known about some of them but what will actually happen? Since there's been this leak do you think anything will be done to expedite this? Sadly, they will serve out their terms and may even be re-elected. :~(

POPSThe Two Faces of Granny Rictus Botox "And remember her promise of the most transparent, ethical Congress in history. Try not to laugh so hard, Mr. Rangel and Mr. Murtha. POPSThin-Lipped, Milquestoast, Cream-In-The-Coffee Cadaver Called Out
But in a ray of light shining on his fetid, animated corpse he is actually in trouble for re-election. Thankfully so are many other members of the Socialist Democratic Party. There are many reasons for him to get on with his long-deserved dirt nap, but this has to rank pretty high up there. Sherman Frederick of the Las Vegas Review-Journal writes. On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber's board members for a meet-'n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal's director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal. Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business." Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants

POPSF-35 Squabble Could Kill Hate Bill Perfect, we need to get behind this and use it destroy the Totalitarian hate crimes bill, which is something even Bush would have shied away from. "The best way to assist veto of the defense/hate bill combination is to revive grassroots protest of the hate bill. We must convince Obama and Democrats in Congress that Americans hate the hate bill. They must know that Obama’s signature will result in even more town hall-style outrage against Democrats–and certain revenge in midterm elections next year Here’s how you can help

POPSDemocrat Corruption On A Roll Scandals involving the Obama Administration include prominent cabinet picks, some confirmed and others who withdrew amid intense public scrutiny of their wrongdoings. Former Senate majority leader Tom Daschle dropped his bid to be Health Secretary after being exposed for failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in taxes over the years and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson dropped out as Commerce Secretary amid a grand jury investigation into his out-of-state political donors getting a lucrative state contract. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was confirmed even though he knowingly hired an illegal immigrant and failed to pay tens of thousands of dollars in taxes on his lucrative salary. The nation’s new Deputy Defense Secretary (William Lynn) was a major defense industry lobbyist before becoming the Pentagon’s second-in-command, a violation of Obama’s “strict ethics rules” banning lobbyists from his administration.

POPSNavy's Distinguished Public Service Award Granted to Traitor While serving as a Representative from Pennsylvania, Murtha called Marines from 3d Battalion, 1st Marines "cold blooded killers" who "murdered innocent civilians." Before an investigation into the Haditha incident was even conducted, Murtha went on numerous television news programs and announced that the Marines "went into houses and killed women and children." He said, "There's no question in my mind about what happened here. There was no gunfire, they killed four people in a taxi … 24 people were killed." When asked specifically if he claimed that innocent civilians were intentionally executed by Marines, he said, "That's exactly what happened." Not content to slander those Marines directly involved, he went on to claim that if these Marines were not punished, "other Marines would say well I'll do the same thing."

POPSEarmarks of Scandal There’s plenty of questions to answer. The firm was led by Paul Magliocchetti, a former appropriations staffer and Murtha protégé who wined and dined his former bosses and comrades with abandon. These raucous dinners and big expense-account tabs should be vetted for ethics violations. Of course, it didn’t stop with steaks and fine wines. PMA funneled more than $40 million in donations to members of Congress since 1998, including $2.4 million to Mr. Murtha and $7.8 million to members of his committee. Congress, in turn, rewarded PMA clients with rarely debated earmarks. Last year, the firm was able to marshal more than 100 lawmakers to earmark $300 million in contracts for the lobbyist’s clients. Ms. Pelosi cannot ignore this sorry churn of taxpayer money. Newcomers and moderates are right in warning that if the House majority doesn’t police itself, it will lose credibility all the way to the next election.

POPSFeds Narrowing In On Companies With Ties To Democrat Murtha
"The FBI is showing a lot of interest in" a lot of people around Murtha, said Keith Ashdown of Taxpayers for Common Sense. "If I was in Murtha's camp, I would not be sleeping at night." The PMA Group and Murtha The veteran Pennsylvania Democrat has helped the firm secure millions in federal earmark dollars. Indeed, in 2008, PMA clients won $299 million in earmarks, according to figures compiled by Taxpayers for Common Sense. Soon after the raid on PMA's offices, the firm's other senior members began talking to founder Magliochetti about an arrangement that would include him leaving the firm, according to the National Journal. The watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has called Murtha one of the most corrupt members of Congress. Murtha was targeted in the "Abscam" scandal, a three-year FBI sting in which agents posed as representatives of an Arab sheik and offered suitcases of cash (In the late 1970s)

POPSU.S. Raids Contractors Aided by Murtha The new resistance comes a day after President Barack Obama unveiled tough lobbying rules to curtail such conflicts. William J. Lynn, the nominee to become deputy secretary of defense, is a former Pentagon official and Senate staffer. He was a registered lobbyist from 2003 through June 2008 while working as a senior executive in Raytheon's Washington office. Michigan Democratic Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which must approve Mr. Lynn's appointment, said Thursday that he needed more information about how the administration planned to deal with his Raytheon ties in light of the new lobbying rules.

POPS9/11 Families Outraged by Obama Call to Suspend War Crimes Trials Murtha said he'd take them....OK, imprison them in *his* house. "We should continue so we don't go backward, we go forward," Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks told the judge in their case. Obama's "Change" is going to drag this thing out and everyone involved is going to suffer even longer. Many that the US have tried to return to their place of origin won't accept them and some that were released have been recaptured in terrorist activities.
