POPSLiberals Finally Got the Military Murders They've Been Asking For I imagine that President Obama's old mentors Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn are also pleased with the attack. After all, they sent Ayer's girlfriend and other domestic terrorists of the Weather Underground to attack an Army dance at Fort Dix, an assault thwarted only by their own bomb-building ineptitude. If they had been competent, their attack on Fort Dix would likely have been worse than yesterday's assault. So what say you, progressives... was the massacre of American soldiers all you dreamed it might be?

POPS Dots, Not Connected Well, you don’t get to not go just because you don’t want to. Apparently was disturbed by what he was hearing from the combat-traumatized solders he was counseling. Very sensitive, couldn’t hang with the war wounds. Had poor performance reports and was himself in counseling. Sounds a bit like the psychiatrist, not simply unwilling and ill-suited to the military career he had chosen, might have been morphing into patient, or should have been, as he found himself increasingly conflicted at the intersection of various aspects of his life, which appears to have included a respectable level of stress and some potentially extreme contradictions. Given that he worked at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, that part of it starts to sound like a very big dot that shouldn’t have needed that much connecting. Here’s another one, dot-connection in process. Had been the focus of some level of attention by federal agents for at least six months....

POPSFood Critic Murders Baboon: Needed Fodder for His Column?! While admitting there was no good excuse for his action, he nonetheless tries to explain: "I noticed that, when it was alive, I thought about the baboon as a thing. Now he’s dead, I’m posthumously anthropomorphising him, and that was one of the reasons I killed. I wanted to get a sense of what it might be like to kill someone, a stranger." Stop. Breathe. I note my first reaction: Excruciating execution for this guy, preferably slowly bleeding to death in front of his buddies, sounds like a good idea. Exhale. Pause. Next reaction: What the heck was he thinking? What sick person would find it perfectly acceptable to write about his urge to explore killing primates in a food column? Is he so disengaged from life and his place in it that he thinks this is witty? Educational? Cool?

POPSMurder-Suicide in Families (DoJ Report) Previous history of abuse is by far the most dominant risk factor. In one study, 82 percent of the men who killed their intimate partners were known to the authorities — treatment professionals, the military or the criminal justice system, for example . In most cases, the man exhibits possessive, obsessive and jealous behavior. There is a gradual build-up of tensions and conflicts after which an event leads the man to act. The triggering event is often the woman’s announcement that she is leaving. The time immediately after a woman leaves an abusive partner is the most dangerous . Read an article from the NIJ Journal about a tool to help assess a woman’s risk of being a victim of murder suicide (pdf, 6 pages).

POPSLike the Basque country, Northern Ireland must prepare for occasional terrorist outrages more @ clip source Eta's current nihilistic campaign probably provides an even better comparison. We may in fact have to accept that – just as Spain and the Basque country will be shaken occasionally by the odd Eta outrage – the same goes for Northern Ireland and extremist republican groups. Basque nationalism has actually enjoyed more compromises from the Spanish state in the areas of language, culture and devolved power than Irish nationalists experience presently under their own devolved settlement. But for those in Euskadi who dream of an independent UN-recognised state straddling the Pyrenees the struggle must go on. And just as the uncompromising Etarras (militants) will continue with their futile terror, so too will an eternally insolent minority on the republican fringe

POPSWe need national health care because lack of insurance kills people More: Want to know something even better? The constitution we shoved down the throat of Iraq, requires healthcare for everyone . Pretty good inn't? George Bush, and his neo-con cabal (the folks who believed the parades would last, even after the random raids and the abuductions started) insisted that First: Every citizen has the right to health care. The State shall maintain public health and provide the means of prevention and treatment by building different types of hospitals and health institutions. Second: Individuals and entities have the right to build hospitals, clinics,or private health care centers under the supervision of the State, and this shall be regulated by law. But here, in the wealthiest nation on the planet, with (we are assured) the "best healthcare in the world,"people die from the flu, because they can

POPSOUR TAX DOLLARS GOING TO GADHAFI FAMILY.... "Just weeks after the Gadhafi family celebrated the return of a terrorist responsible for the murders of 189 Americans, the U.S. taxpayer should not be asked to reward them with $400,000," Kirk wrote to the president. "For the sake of the victims' families who have endured so much pain these last few weeks, I ask you to withdraw your Administration's request." The Gadhafi Development Foundation is described by the BBC as "a charity which tries to project a new and positive image of Libya." The U.S. State Department has not issued a response to Kirk's request.

POPSThree sentenced to hang for murder of an African 'ghost' A string of brutal attacks in which members of the minority group have been literally hacked to pieces, with children as young as five being killed, has provoked angry criticism of the government. Tanzania, while an extremely poor country, has long enjoyed relative stability and is renowned for its spectacular national parks and Indian Ocean coastline.

POPSJennifer's Body': hot, but a little flabbyJennifer's Body, Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, J.K. Simmons, In the view of Diablo Cody Jennifer's Body is not as hot as you hope it would be.His words states —its particularly teenspeak — was a revelation in Juno, Jennifer's Body tries hard to be cool, gross and nasty but feels forced and misses the mark. Read more.. Some of the pieces in this horror/comedy hybrid are marginally inspired: such as an alt-indie band (fronted by Adam Brody) who turn to ritualistic murders since the field is so tough to make a name in and the hapless efforts of such school officials as Mr. Wroblewski (J.K. Simmons) to cope with a grisly killing spree that is decimating the student body.

POPSBertolt Brecht Quote Collage "Mack the Knife" or "The Ballad of Mack the Knife", originally "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer", is a song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for their music drama Die Dreigroschenoper, or, as it is known in English, The Threepenny Opera. It premiered in Berlin in 1928. A moritat (from mori meaning "deadly" and tat meaning "deed") is a medieval version of the murder ballad performed by strolling minstrels The Brecht-Weill version of the character was far more cruel and sinister, and has been transformed into a modern anti-hero. The opera opens with the moritat singer comparing Macheath (unfavorably) with a shark, and then telling tales of his robberies, murders, rapes, and arson.

POPSGay in Iraq The first comment in response to this article : webparent, Tulsa (8/17/2009 7:29:30 AM) "While I do not agree with such measures I also do not agree with homosexuality......these Sunni's are following the way of the curan and the bible. Maybe people should reconsider not being gay. Whether its their choice or not is irrelevant. They can make a change. If nothing else they can be celibate. It is not the natural way of life nor is it in god's will. I and others will pray that this torture stops and new choices are made." Read more at source...
