And what about working together on files instead of mail them back and forth (what was the bl**dy last version)? What if I modify a document that someone else is already modifying? Finally a remote desktop solution that doesn't need difficult firewall configuration (which I still have with UltraVNC)? To check out, I guess. It is still beta though!

POPSOpen Office- a viable alternative to the microsoft monopoly. I have been using this for about a week now and have uninstalled ms office completely, just part of an ongoing process to rid my windows machine of anything Microsoft, or Google related or any of their numerous affiliates. The program is more than capable of handling the average users requirements, I don't know if it would handle the needs of a business other than on the obvious lack of cost, but it certainly has that potential. Why not give it a go? What do you have to lose? It is free after all.

POPSMicrosoft's cloud Office Google has a head start over MS on this one but has also another advantage, they understand the need to support all platform/browser combination. You can only use Office Live if you are running "major" OSs: Microsoft or Max OS, no Linux or Unix (Solaris) support.

POPSMicrosoft Windows 7 Release Candidate: An Early Look ... Well here's hoping this "ship" can actually float...unlike VISTA which sank to the bottom shortly after christening. Some may use and be OK with VISTA - I only wish Gates would let those unhappy customers who foolishly purchased that worthless OS...be allowed to trade it in on version 7.....I'd say it couldn't be any worse than VISTA but then again, we're talking about MS. To include VISTA in their 'flag-ship' category is like putting a nuclear sub up against a leaky skiff.
