Is Phaistos Disc a forgery?
invictus
by invictus  7-12-2008    2
If Dr. Jerome Eisenberg's claims are true, then it means the Phaistos Disc discovery of 1908 deserves to be recorded as "the biggest archaeological hoax of the century". Could it be possible? Could all the archaeologists and experts of the past 100 years who curiously examined the disc, fail to spot a professionally done forgery? I doubt it but we'll learn the truth soon.

Biblical Plagues and Thera Eruption: New Evidence
invictus
by invictus  4-29-2006
A very important scientific paper that connects the Biblical Plagues in the Book of Exodus to the mega-eruption of Santorini (Thera) volcano around 1645 BCE. Six medical papyri from the Second Intermediate Period of Egyptian Kingdom describe the effects of Santorini's volcanic ash and acid rains. Up to now, there were few Egyptian documents deciphered, which told about the "unusual" disasters that Egypt experienced in the Late Bronze Age and specifically only the document known as "Admonitions of Ipuwer" were giving the clues that could be connected to a serious volcanic eruption: "rivers becoming red", "cattles dying" and "sulphur rains". Many researchers claimed the source of those "plagues" in the Book of Exodus could be the results of the Santorini eruption. Now these medical papyri from ancient Egypt supports those theories.
