POPS1000% Honest Un-Biased Review of Mike Huckabee On FOX
Well the beginning was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. One of the WORST show openers I have seen on television in this genre in a long long time. Huck’s monologue was slow, forced, weak and COMPLETELY UNFUNNY. It was as painful to watch him beleaguer through it as it was to listen to the handful of ‘forced’ chuckles from the audience. Huck took several questions from the audience, granted none of them very ‘pressing’ or difficult, but random unrehearsed out of the blue questions none the less. He was warm, but too warm . . . even for Huck it was an over the top sense of warmth. His first guess was the lovely Elisabeth Hasselbeck just in case you were curious. Now once the conversation took place betwixt the two it was good! Huck seemed more at ease, Elisabeth was her usual self. You could tell she was genuinely happy for mike and pleased to be there, that was good. There was David Ramsey, Geraldine Ferraro and Alexis Glick (2nd in command over at Fox Business)

POPSNew Show to Debut Elisabeth Hasselbeck? This is the best they can do? I just might tune in for laughs. Maybe that's their intent. Yeah, that's got to be it.

POPSRobert Scoble Misrepresents Huckabee Comment On Reporting Mike Huckabee referred to the reporting on Sarah Palin as "tackier than a costume change at a Madonna concert." Mr. Scoble first claims Huckabee said Twitter users were "tackier," then the "elite media." Neither statement is accurate. Never assume the mainstream media is telling you the truth.

POPSFred Thompson Speech (RNC Convention) Once upon a time, Fred Thompson ran for president. His campaign was inexplicably late in starting and never got any traction. A lot of conservatives were disappointed because they were looking for a more traditional candidate to fill a perceived void. The choices in 2008 came down to Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain. We still do not know why Fred Thompson ran such a poor campaign, a question that will not be answered in his RNC convention speech. 'Character you can believe in' 3:02 video at website Fred Thompson says Sen. John McCain has the character that America can "believe in".

POPSReason #1 Why McCain Chose Palin #2 is the PUMAs, #1 is that she's Mike Huckabee in drag. Creationist, an extremist on abortion, she's exactly what the nuts wish McCain was. Exhibit A; James Dobson, head nut and a man who said he wouldn't vote for McCain " under any circumstances ," is now voting McCain:

POPSShoot the messenger Continues Stranahan...."Seems like I've touched a third rail here. I cross-posted this piece at Daily Kos and it got over 400 comments. Unfortunately, a large number of the comments were nothing but insults. One person suggested seriously that all the videos I've made lampooning Republicans (including my Mike Huckabee video that Kos himself called the 'best political parody of 2007) were just a ruse so I could weasel my way into the progressive blogosphere, apparently in anticipation of John Edwards being caught at hotel. " Seems the urge to protect their own (Edwards) includes trashing the messenger (Stranahan). If only the truth could so easily be silenced....

POPS3 Myths About Offshore Drilling "Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) claimed "not a drop of oil was spilled during Katrina or Rita." This myth has been told again and again by the likes ofGov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, Mike Huckabee, George Will, and Bill O'Reilly. There were, in fact, major onshore and offshore spills due to the hurricanes."

POPSAbout Olbermann and Clinton's remarks
Mrs. Clinton: The reason many want you out of the race now is because you can't win the nomination by any legitimate process, because the only way you can win the nomination now is by making the rules and credentials committees push this shit to the convention floor and to force the entire convention to allow illegitimate primary results to stand. Also, because the Democratic Party needs to start running against John McWeirdsmile, who has run unopposed since March 4 and who has run such a horrible campaign that, had Obama been allowed his rightful nomination, he would have been able to tackle McCain below the waist at least a dozen times by now. And, oh yeah: Because you are an asshole. The fact that she can feign a lack of understanding of that basic idea is outrageous, even more outrageous than "invoking a nightmare." It belies a candidate who is out of touch with the facts, either by character or by design. Remember, this is a candidate who has most recently attempted to conflate

POPSEvangelicals may go Democratic If a fair number of evangelicals were to actually vote for a liberal like Obama in the general election, that would mark a sea change in U.S. politics. I can't help but worry that Hell would also freeze over.

POPSObama's Minister Committed "Treason" But When My Father Said the Same Thing He Was a Republican Hero My dad's books denouncing America and comparing the USA to Hitler are still best sellers in the "respectable" evangelical community and he's still hailed as a prophet by many Republican leaders. When Mike Huckabee was recently asked by Katie Couric to name one book he'd take with him to a desert island, besides the Bible, he named Dad's Whatever Happened to the Human Race? a book where Dad also compared America to Hitler's Germany. We Republican agitators of the mid 1970s to the late 1980s were genuinely anti-American in the same spirit that later Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson (both followers of my father) were anti-American when they said God had removed his blessing from America on 9/11, because America accepted gays. Falwell and Robertson recanted but we never did.

POPSChristian Science Monitor on Reverend Wright - Did Obama's Pastor Preach Hate?
What people hear depends on their own experience and worldview, says Teresa Brown, who teaches the art of preaching at Emory U. in Atlanta. "I listen to 60 sermons a week by black and white pastors, you can find something in almost any one that is offensive to somebody." The key as to whether language is hate speech lies in a preacher's overall message, according to Martin Marty, of the University of Chicago Divinity School and renowned historian of religion. Dr. Marty, who has visited Trinity many times, says, "If Wright only had whites in his searchlight, you might call it . But he goes after the men in his church" about fatherhood, he puts himself and his people under the prophetic spotlight. "The black church took the distorted version of Christianity that provided the religious justification for slavery, carved out the racist elements ..and implanted new content that actually moved Christianity in this country closer to Jesus' message," says Dr. Braxton.

POPSPlaying By Obama's Rules To observe Democrats this week, savaging one of their heroines, is to understand why the party is unready to rule. This week, after being subjected for 48 hours to accusations of divisiveness by Barack Obama, and racism by his agents and auxiliaries in the media, Ferraro resigned from Clinton's campaign. What had she said to send the Obamaites into paroxysms of rage? Obama's agents suggest that Ferraro deliberately injected race into the campaign. But this, too, is ridiculous. Her quote came in an interview with the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Calif., not "Meet the Press." The attack on Ferraro comes out of a conscious strategy of the Obama campaign -- to seek immunity from attack by smearing any and all attackers as having racist motives. When Bill Clinton dismissed Obama's claim to have been consistently antiwar as a "fairy tale," and twinned Obama's victory in South Carolina with Jesse Jackson's, his statements were described as tinged with racism.
