POPSTop 15 Nasa inventions 9. Memory foam: created for aircraft seats to soften landing, this foam, which returns to its original shape, is found in mattresses and shock absorbing helmets. 10. Satellite television: technology used to fix errors in spacecraft signals helps reduce scrambled pictures and sound in satellite television signals. 11. Scratch resistant lenses: astronaut helmet visor coating makes our spectacles ten times more scratch resistant. 12. Shoe insoles: athletic shoe companies adapted space boot designs to lessen impact by adding spring and ventilation. 13. Smoke detector: Nasa invented the first adjustable smoke detector with sensitivity levels to prevent false alarms. 14. Swimsuit: Nasa used the same principles that reduce drag in space to help create the world’s fastest swimsuit for Speedo, rejected by some professionals for giving an unfair advantage. 15. Water filter: domestic versions borrow a technique Nasa pioneered to kill bacteria in water taken into space.

POPSE-Money (That’s What I Want) There is a host of reasons why we should adopt a “cashless” society: 1-the cost of printing bills and stamping coins (in 2008 taxpayers paid $848 million to print hundreds of billions of dollars worth of bills, two thirds of that went to minting coins that most of us find is a nuisance to handle.) 2-more than 14,823 tons of zinc, 23,879 tons of copper, and 2,514 tons of nickel went into making coins last year. 3-cash is germ-smeared, bulky, carbon-intensive and expensive. Two years ago, card-based payments exceeded paper-based ones – cash, checks, food stamps – for the first time. The most efficient method of commerce would be to use the cell phone as a point-of-sale terminal which would lend itself to bartering. Imagine paying for a beer with frequent flier miles. Killing currency wouldn’t be a trauma, it’s be euthanasia.

POPSUS Spy Flies to gain new eyes Techno geeks continue to make it easier to spy on and congratulate themselves for making spy tools smaller and more efficient. Politicians enable warrantless wiretapping to be more legally acceptable. They feign outrage but don’t punish those who authorized and instigated spying on us. The NSA spy-fest during the Bush administration was met with outrage by the press (for a very sort time) but nothing has come of it. Are they still spying on us? The police state grows because, let’s face it, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of resistance. Local police kick and beat suspects, boldly in front of cameras, and they are cleared of any wrong doing, which just emboldens them even further. Bloggers and citizen reporters are the only real sources of what is actually happening to us because the MSM is so concerned with keeping their ad income that true investigative reporting is all but dead. If somehow the internet gets shutdown, we will truly be in the dark.

POPSGermany denies most evil patent ever There always has to be someone to take the next step. This is yet another way to kill someone on command. A means of controlling a person to do an evil persons (or governments) bidding. I would not be surprised to learn it is in use in Saudi Arabia already as slave control.

POPSLost German Shepherd, Missing For 9 Years, Found! from the Treasure Coast Humane Society. Officers went online to locate Dennis Geary and found two names with Florida connections to call, one at the Louisville address and the other a Tennessee farmer who said the dog wasn’t his. The officers left a message on the Gearys’ answering machine the first week in February. Once Dennis Geary called animal control back and hung up the phone, he looked at his wife, picked up the phone, called animal control back and said, “I’m going to bring him (Astro) home.” That following weekend, Dennis Geary and his stepson made the three-hour drive to Tennessee.from the Treasure Coast Humane Society.
