POPSBiased coverage? No way!?!? Every election is rife with biased coverage by the main media news outlets; it's just that party heads deny it until it works against them. Whether you believe in the “vast right wing conspiracy” or the “left wing media” scourge, it seems that bias in the machine has indeed played a large role in defeating Hillary.

POPSWelcome To The Machine To date, every major commercial TV network has failed to report this story, covering up their complicity and keeping the existence of this scandal from their audiences. More than two weeks after the New York Times reported on the Penatgon's military analyst program to sell controversial policies such as the invasion of Iraq, the broadcast television news outlets implicated in the program are hoping to tough out the scandal by refusing to report it. Recently Media Matters of America (MMA) reported that, according to a search of the Nexis database, "the three major broadcast networks -- ABC, CBS, and NBC -- have still not mentioned the report at all." Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro and three dozen colleagues have sent a letter to the Department of Defense Inspector General calling for an investigation of this "propaganda campaign aimed at deliberately misleading the American public."

POPSWho is hurting the Democratic Party more? There is nothing different today ( after Tuesday's primary election) than there was prior to Tuesday. Neither Clinton or Obama have the required number of delegates to secure the nomination. Both won the States they were expected to win. Hillary hasn't had a chance of winning, mathematically, for months. All of a sudden everyone in the Leftist media says Hillary should drop out? Why were they not saying this weeks ago? Why are the Media so concerned about making sure the Democratic Party begins healing?

POPS It's The Stupid, Stupid--The Media gets a FAIL
Nevertheless, we get nonstop coverage of this man for two solid weeks from major television, radio, and newspapers. And yet the worst of the lot, television, when confronted with the fact that they were complicit in disseminating Pentagon propaganda by using retired generals as paid shills for the Iraq war effort, has less to say about it than Bill O'Reilly on the difference between a loofah and a falafel. Part of the problem is that modern news editors hate "policy," because "policy isn't news." But in times like these, it isn't hard to make a case that, yes, policy is news--but today's media is too vapid and too hard up for rapidly vanishing eyeballs to care. Four months in a row of job losses on the edge of recession calls for some sort of policy change (and the president is doing the Charleston trying to avoid saying the R-word). Gas prices are skyrocketing toward the $4/gallon mark, and two of the three presidential candidates are saying that cutting the gas tax--in effect, giv

POPSContractor Atrocity--It's Lying ... and It's Murder: How KBR Electrocuted US Troops
"... and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. These deaths did not come while the soldiers were on patrol or by unexpected encounters with downed "hot" wires. These "accidents" happened in facilities used as base camps for U.S. units, camps that were to have been completely refurbished - including the wiring - under terms of a $30 billion no-bid contract awarded to the one-time Halliburton subsidiary KBR (formerly Kellogg-Brown-Root). The deaths reportedly all were the result of shoddy workmanship in the grounding of electrical sources, both in permanent structures and in machinery when in use. The problem is not new: in 2004, Army units in theatre were alerted concerning the potential for accidental electrocution. American electricians working for KBR in the war zone observed and notified KBR and even the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), the office that monitors contractor performance, of numerous instances of poor workmanship by undertrained and underpaid Iraqi and Afghan "e

POPSD(iscover) the R(eal) M(eaning) of 'free'
Just to make sure I haven't confused anyone no there is no DRM on the music at opsound. &Yeah you're prolly thinking: okay this is prolly a bunch of hippy crap or looped-samples. Well you could prolly find it there, I haven't yet. Instead its inspired my current, &now entire, music collection. As an open source artist where I express my art using code, distributed as software, &completely truly for free. I've always felt this was the best model of distributing art, of all forms. Before there was Beatnik Turtle, Geoff Smith, or Jonathan Coulton(all of whom I love). But first there was opsound the 'free' record label. My fave feature: their feeds. Genres, artists, newest songs, &more they offer feeds for them all. So go browse their online store, find some new music, have way to much fun, &support them &their artists. Tell your friends; send opsound &their artists emails; see want free media can really be; &most importantly enjoy yourself. Oh... &you can donate too, *wink*
