The rotten estates England
notareargunner
by notareargunner  11-5-2009
Everything that is bad about the English system is evidence here. These lazy, greedy perpetrators of perpetual socialism have been protected by the liberal correctness regimes put in place by successive governments. Everything about that statement is wrong, except the facts. The fact that these people are allowed to raise more generations of worthless flesh is as abhorrent to the hard working Briton as the devious and malicious enterprises of the Bankers and their cohorts, the politicians. Absolutely no system has the panacea for all societies’ ills, but this system that relies on the influential few to circumvent the wishes of the people by allowing the ill-educated to proliferate whilst Labour imports their supporters from foreign lands is treason. Get the illiterate masses educated. Once they learn the hard lesson of real education they would have no need to wallow in self pity, smoke their tax free cigarettes and produce off-spring that every tax payer I the land has to subsi

Right Wing News: Kneecapping Barack Obama at every opportunity
keeth
by keeth  10-20-2009    1
Knee-capping is a form of malicious wounding, often as extralegal punishment or torture, in which the victim is injured in the knee, usually using a firearm, and in some cases a power drill to damage the knee joint and kneecap. This practice was common among paramilitaries in Italy and Northern Ireland and has been reported from Gaza. Contrary to popular belief, the patella is usually not injured in these incidents; rather damage to soft tissues that include nerves and arteries is the primary target.

Securing the Web
merrie
by merrie  10-17-2009    1
(These types of security checks operate in the background: they don't require you, for instance, to reenter your user name and password.) Many web applications also "sanitize" data posted by their subscribers: if a friend posts something to your social-network page, the application probably won't show you the post without inspecting it for malicious code. "We've looked at a lot of these web applications, and there's literally hundreds of places where these checks happen," says Nickolai Zeldovich, an assistant professor in MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. Indeed, Zeldovich and his colleagues identified one popular web application that sanitized data in more than 1,400 places (but still had about 60 security holes). They also, however, identified a feature that web application security checks usually had in common: "Namely," Zeldovich says, "it's that the same data is being handled in all these hundreds of places."

Microsoft Exposes Firefox Users to Drive-By Malware Downloads
merrie
by merrie  10-17-2009    8
Here, the affected process is the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) hosting process, PresentationHost.exe. While the vulnerability is in an IE component, there is an attack vector for Firefox users as well. The reason is that .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installs a “Windows Presentation Foundation” plug-in in Firefox. Now, Microsoft’s security folks are actually recommending that Firefox users uninstall the buggy add-on: For Firefox users with .NET Framework 3.5 installed, you may use “Tools”-> “Add-ons” -> “Plugins”, select “Windows Presentation Foundation”, and click “Disable" This introduction of vulnerabilities in a competing browser is a colossal embarrassment for Microsoft. At the time of the surreptitious installs, there were prescient warnings from many in the community about the security implications of introducing new code into browsers without the knowledge " and consent " of end users. http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=4614&tag=nl.e589

Sponsored search results lead to malware
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  10-8-2009
If you're not sure, verify the URL. Microsoft and Google have large payrolls, but the search giants don't employ literal armies to review ad submissions. If you're at all suspicious of an ad's legitimacy, check the URL via a service such as hpHosts, which tracks domain names that researchers have reported as malicious. Help vendors by reporting malicious advertisers. To report bogus ads on Google, e-mail security at google.com. This is likely to be more effective than reporting the site via the search giant's online form. If you discover malware purveyors advertising in Bing's results, e-mail secure at microsoft.com. Yahoo, however, offers only a Security Phishing Report Form.

Mass. Court OKs $102 Million Wrongful-Conviction Award
ofcapri
by ofcapri  8-28-2009    1
"While we reject its finding that the government is liable for malicious prosecution, we uphold the court's alternate finding that the government is liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress," the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said on Thursday. "We conclude that the awards, though high, are not so grossly disproportionate to the harm sustained as to either shock our collective conscience or raise the specter of a miscarriage of justice."
