POPSThe Homeless and Snow For these unfortunates an insufferable blizzard can mean life or death. I happened across this video (never shown in our mainstream corporate media) and was taken aback that I never gave a thought to those who try to survive living on the street. It’s hard enough during clement weather for these people to find the means of survival but in harsh conditions many of them either die are become very ill. Seeing the homeless should make us all chant “There but for the grace of god goes I” because in a greedy capitalistic society we are all vulnerable to such a fate. In a corporate culture people have no value other than the purchase power they possess. If ever you lose that means, you become useless and invisible to those who hold the reigns over your destiny.

POPSAcademy Award Snubs, Snide & Surprises This is an interesting overview of 'who's in,' and 'who's out,' and why. Of course, the ability of Hollywood and our recording and media industry (the Grammys, etc. ) to give themselves awards after awards and more awards ad nauseum can get tiresome fast And not just Acadamy Awards and Grammys, but Golden Globes and People's Choice and Emmys and Blagh Blagh. It's half the time making media and half the time congratulating themselves for it. (I heard they gave out 245 Grammys, or something) But it's all part of the Circus Act of America and good for sales, I'm sure. And almost something for everyone, a nice pic or piece of music here and there -- depending upon personal tastes. (Or lack, thereof) At least the Academy Awards still appears to only have a dozen major categories or less. Winners picked by an exclusive club. Movie and national politics all part of it all.
