POPSDog saves abandoned baby from forest "Dr Jonathan Micheni said: "An infant of such a tender age, having spent two nights in the cold, is likely to develop respiratory infections and we have put her on a treatment to prevent any bacterial or fungal infections." These kinds of incidents in which babies are abandoned are very common in East African countries like Kenya, where over 56% of the population lives on less than US $1 a day. This is ultimate proof that dogs really are a man's best friend!"

POPSMore on the Whackjob Science Czar the MSM Ignores
President Obama’s top science adviser, John P. Holdren, advocated the “de-development” of the United States in books he published in the 1970s. In the vision expressed by Holdren and his co-authors, the Ehrlichs, the need for “de-development” of the United States demanded a redistribtuion of wealth. “The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge,” they wrote. “They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being.” Holdren, who is director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, made these comments in the 1973 book “Human Ecology,” which he co-authored with the Ehrlichs, long-time advocates of curtailing population growth. And Terry Jeffrey reported: President Obama’s top science adviser said in a book . .

POPSGrieving Widow Seeks Compensation From White House "I just get paralyzed wondering how I'm going to raise my larvae for the next six days, alone, without any kind of support," she said. "Most days I just end up on the clung to the ceiling, numb and crying, eating a rancid bowl of Ben & Jerry's."

POPSBritish doctors find maggots work on leg ulcers Patients who got the maggots healed just as quickly as those who got the gel, but suffered a little more pain in the process. The research, along with another study that said maggots were as cost-effective as the gel, was published Friday in the BMJ, formerly known as the British Medical Journal

POPS Mummified Japanese Monks Enlightened Through Punishment FTA:The first part of the process involved a change of diet; a 1000-day period in which the priest ate only nuts and seeds that could be gathered in the forest surrounding his temple. Physical hardship was deliberately imposed with the goal of reducing the body fat to nearly nothing, allowing for easy decomposition. Believe it or not, the second 1,000-day stage was even more restrictive. Now the priest could only eat bark and roots from pine trees, a process insured to turn any human being into a walking skeleton and to decrease the amount of body fluids, making preservation even easier. Then the priest had to ingest a poisonous tea which further reduced body fluids and killed any maggots or insects that tried to eat the priest’s remains after death, (not to mention the priest). POPSThe human botfly! A species of botfly (found only in Central and South America) captures a mosquito and lays its eggs on it ... about 30 of them. The botfly then releases the mosquito. Eventually the mosquito lands on a person. The warmth causes the eggs to hatch, and the larvae (or maggots) fasten to the person's skin. The larvae now eat their way into the skin of the person, and begin feeding on muscle tissue. Tiny hooks hold them in place. A hole is left in the skin so the larvae can breathe.

POPSThe Cheese That Bites Back continued: Those who do not wish to eat live maggots place the cheese in a sealed paper bag. The maggots, starved for oxygen, writhe and jump in the bag, creating a "pitter-patter" sound. When the sounds subside, the maggots are dead and the cheese can be eaten.

POPSThey're Lining Up At The HOG TROUGH . . . Again, Already, Yet So Soon ! ! ! The nerve of these maggots. Making 8-digit salaries, flying around in $36 million private jets... and coming to the HOG TROUGH asking for $25 billion in bail out money. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! The auto industry in US is dead... let them go into backruptcy. Then maybe the unions will buy them out (at book market price after bankruptcy) it will only cost about $2 billion... much better deal than having the tax payers foot a $25 billion bill. The union can then decide who will run it (no more 8-digit salaries) and what they will manufacture. My suggestion is that they re-tool to produce wind turbine generators, solar electrical equipment... and/or even bicycles. Let the Communist Chinese take over the auto industry... they deserve it... and if they don't make electric cars, etc., they will soon be bankrupt also.

POPSOlfactory Neurons Use Sophisticated Fuzzy Coding They concluded that the peripheral code combines precise coding with fuzzy, stochastic responses in which neurons show apparent unpredictability in their responses to a given odour. They now believe that fuzzy coding occurs in other organisms, is translated into differing degrees of activation in the brain, and forms a key component of odour recognition in the first stages of olfactory processing. Dr McCrohan explains: “The nose gives us insight into the brain - it’s not a computer, it’s not precise, it’s fuzzy. This may be a consequence of way the receptors are built and must be used in some way as part of the process by which the brain perceives an almost infinite variety of odours.

POPSBarbies For War! Anne Heche’s mother, Nancy, talked about her distress when her daughter told her she was involved with Ellen. Jeff Johnston told me he had “a struggle” with homosexuality “for a season,” but is now “happily married with three boys.” (Books for sale there included “Mommy, Why Are They Holding Hands?” and “You Don’t Have to Be Gay.”) “We are one Supreme Court justice away from overturning Roe v. Wade,” he excitedly told me. R. D. Levno, a retired school principal, flew in from Fairbanks. “She’s a child, inexperienced and simplistic,” she said of Sarah. “It’s taking us back to junior high school. She’s one of the popular girls, but one of the mean girls. She is seductive, but she is invented.” I KNEW she reminded me of a "Heather"
