POPSParting Ways With The Right Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.) Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source) And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff. I won’t be going over the cliff with them.

POPSGreed+Palm Oil = Global Deforestation and Gasp... The saddest part of this is that greed is also associated with the self-delusion that they are not really harming the planet and if they are - they have enough money to save themselves. Maybe, we should just call it lunacy since buying a self-contained cabin on Luna (aka: the moon) would be the only way to buy their way out ot eh consequences of their greed and stupidity.

POPSBeck: Black Obama fans were 'taught to be slaves,' while progressives like Stern are 'taking you to
This goes beyond mere coded words and "coincidental" targeting -- this is just naked ol' racial stereotyping of the lowest kind. It came, incidentally, at the end of an equally incendiary attack on the SEIU's Andy Stern -- the day before, Beck told his audience that Stern was "really running our country" -- which he wrapped up with a truly vicious attack on both the Obama White House and on progressives in general: Most likely, it'll happen sometime after Christmas. You're gonna see this economy come up -- we're already seeing it, and now it's gonna start coming back down again. And when you see the effects of what they're doing to the economy, remember these words: We will survive. No -- we'll do better than survive, we will thrive. As long as these people are not in control. They are taking you to a place to be slaughtered! The fearmongering doesn't get much more naked than that. Combined with the race-baiting, that's quite a show Fox News has there.

POPSA Maoist in the White House FTA: "Mao Tse-Tung...engineered the mass murder of anywhere from 50 to over 100 million people. Estimates vary so widely because murder on that wholesale scale is difficult to tabulate, especially in a country as backwards as China was under Mao’s long reign. But there is little doubt that Mao has the grisly distinction of being the greatest mass murderer in history." Very frightening people populate the halls of our government now. To announce to *high school* students that this is your model for how to get things done speaks of lunacy.

POPSBombing the Moon Gives A New Meaning to Lunatics So how much does a metaphor weigh? A lot more than NASA thinks. The first man on the moon wasn't an American or a Russian, it was The Man in the Moon we all saw when we were kids, and somebody older showed him to us. That's the first man on the moon, her permanent resident, and now he's got a NASA rocket at his backside... They used to call the mentally ill lunatics. But now I wonder who the real lunatics are. And if there is water on the moon, what are we going to do with it? Grow moon-corn for ethanol until we kill the Earth? Such a great article it touched something, it really touched something more beautiful than finding water on the moon.

POPSAbraham Lincoln, Barack Obama, America's military What is most disturbing to me today is the reaction I have not seen to Mr. Perry's lunacy. I have read dozens of condemnations of his--I will be blunt--chickenshit call for a military coup, and dozens more posts and stories using his idiocy as a talking point in current political battles. What I have not read are dozens of stories explaining something that is as certain as the law of gravity: The United States military does not act against the government of the United States. Note: click on John Perry's name to see what he is on about.

POPSMore Theocratic Lunacy For all you American Christians that cling to your notion of a Christian Nation, perhaps you should look to other countries that actually have a theocracy. Doesn't look as appealing as you thought, does it?

POPSRichard Reeves - Moron We are becoming a different America, not your father's America. The last best hope is less white, less Christian, less predictable, but still just as majestic as the ocean or the stars and stripes. Get used to it. - Well idiot! I doubt the majority of the people would agree with your rant as being anything but far-left lunacy - now go take your meds you are in dire need of them.

POPSKook of the Day My creep-o-meter just pegged itself and has now been reduced to a smoking pile of molten metal. And has anyone made the connection between Mr. Moon and lunacy?

POPSLunacy in Action Typical programming from from FoxNews (a.k.a. FauxNoise); make up shit, get some crazy, brainwashed nobody to rant and rave about it, and pretend it's real. And it gets them record numbers of suckers watching their lies.

POPSTalking Rationally About Evil Spirits The irony is mind boggling. Many people in the world believe in "evil" as something that is present like an invisible fog that makes ordinary people do heinous things against their will. What a bunch of BS. How is this materially different from a belief in astrology or phrenology? Yet, these sophisticated people talk about this absurd notion like they were discussing school rezoning. It's about time that folks begin asking meaningful questions about such lunacy. Just because the idea of evil exists (like the idea of gnomes) does not mean that it is a causative agent in peoples actions. The causative agent is to be found in the thought processes of the individual, not in some sham force.

POPSThe Path of Status Quo... ... leads to disaster. The Right-Wing Nutjobs like to wail and whine about how the cost of reform will mean that your grandchildren will still be paying for it. What they aren't telling you is that without reform, your CHILDREN won't be able to afford healthcare at all for their families. So you tell me what's better; giving your kids and grandkids a little additional debt, but they can afford to keep themselves healthy and alive, or your kids and grandkids getting sick or injured and dying because Health Insurance costs are too ludicrously high for anyone but the rich to be able to afford them? To any reasonable, rational person, the former option is obviously the only way to go, and to disagree is utter lunacy (which your children won't be able to afford to get you treatment for)!

POPSBirther nutjob fantasy has a sold hold on the Republican Party Dear Republican Birther Nutjobs: SHUT YOU THE FUCK UP ALREADY ! Get a fucking grip, people. You have slid off the deep end and found yourself wallowing in a pool of racism and willful blindness to the evidence. Stay conservative, stick to your political principles. But come back to reality on the birth certificate. Just because you don't particularly like the idea of a ARTICULATE MIXED-RACE MAN AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES doesn't mean you get to engage in this sort of lunacy and be taken seriously. The descent of the Republicans into a rural, southern party continues.

POPSTruth - 1; Birthers - 0 A Certificate of Live Birth is THE legal birth certificate in Hawaii. Quibbling over the name of the document is juvenile and obstructionist. Continued belief, in the face of clear, overwhelming evidence, that Obama was not born in Hawaii is a deviant mental state, requiring medical intervention. Obama has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a natural-born American and eligible to be the President of the US. To deny it is utter lunacy of the highest order. Continued: So-called "birthers" — who claim Obama is ineligible to be president because, they argue, he was actually born outside the United States — have grown more vocal recently on blogs and television news shows.

POPSBirth Cert Lunacy Continues "If Barack Obama was an Irish American or a Polish American or a German American, there would be no discussion anywhere in this country about his citizenship," radio host E. Steven Collins told Chris Matthews on Thursday, in response to his fellow guest, deranged right-winger and Nixon Watergate operative G. Gordon Liddy, whose own attempt to defend the birthers should mark a low point, even for his career. "This is because many people in this nation cannot still accept the fact that a brilliant African-American is the commander-in-chief."

POPSWhat to expect if you ever call a pioneer of space exploration a coward Buzz Aldrin KO's a "we-never-went-to-the-moon" conspiracy wacko The moon doesn’t make people crazy. However, it sure does help point to crazy people. Take Whoopi Goldberg. Please. Take her far, far away. The former Captain Planet and the Planeteers star has questioned the moon landings. Really. Personally, I’d like to see Buzz Aldrin take a shot at her. Like he did this idiot:

POPS'I Quit the Evangelical Movement in Disgust': Former Evangelist Fears Right-Wing Lunacy Will Lead to
* Republican senators and representatives giving speeches calling on their followers to accept and work with the president in a truly loyal opposition and denouncing Dick Cheney for saying the president is making us "less safe." * Evangelical Christian and Roman Catholic leaders telling their congregations to stop believing insane Religious Right lies, like the one about Obama being a Muslim, and/or the Antichrist ... Instead, the rising tide of violence is met with silence and/or pretended horror by leaders on the right and yet even more hateful words amounting to outright provocation -- "I hope Obama fails," or, "Obama is making America less safe," or, "We regret Tiller's murder, but after all, he murdered 60,000 babies..." or, "Illegal immigrants must be stopped!" and so on. Who on the right-wing radio shows, among the Republicans in Congress and in far-right media such as Fox News, will now try to cure the sickness of their right-wing followers -- before it explodes
