POPSGreed+Palm Oil = Global Deforestation and Gasp... The saddest part of this is that greed is also associated with the self-delusion that they are not really harming the planet and if they are - they have enough money to save themselves. Maybe, we should just call it lunacy since buying a self-contained cabin on Luna (aka: the moon) would be the only way to buy their way out ot eh consequences of their greed and stupidity.

POPSBombing the Moon Gives A New Meaning to Lunatics So how much does a metaphor weigh? A lot more than NASA thinks. The first man on the moon wasn't an American or a Russian, it was The Man in the Moon we all saw when we were kids, and somebody older showed him to us. That's the first man on the moon, her permanent resident, and now he's got a NASA rocket at his backside... They used to call the mentally ill lunatics. But now I wonder who the real lunatics are. And if there is water on the moon, what are we going to do with it? Grow moon-corn for ethanol until we kill the Earth? Such a great article it touched something, it really touched something more beautiful than finding water on the moon.

POPS Dust Storm in Sydney, Australia 9.23.2009 No one was hurt as a result of the pall that swept in overnight, bringing an eerie orange dawn to Sydney. Dust clouds blowing east from Australia’s dry interior " parched even further by the worst drought on record " covered dozens of towns and cities in two states as strong winds snatched up tons of topsoil, threw it high into the sky and carried it hundreds of miles. POPSAre There Alien UFO Bases On The Moon? Proponents of the theory that a UFO base does indeed lie on the dark side of the moon point to the fact that a large proportion of images taken by satellites of the moon’s surface are highly classified. They argue that it is hard to imagine what could lie on the surface of a totally barren moon that could be of such need of secrecy? I luuuuv stuff like this! .:p

POPSRussian Probe Tried to Beat Apollo to the Moon—But It Crashed more (at source): The recordings were made over three days at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Manchester, where researchers used the Lovell Radio Telescope to listen to transmissions from Apollo 11—and Luna 15. Sir Bernard Lovell, the inventor of the telescope and the founder of Jodrell Bank, can be heard narrating events with conversation from the Apollo 11 astronauts in the background. Sir Bernard notes a change in the orbit of Luna 15 to take it closer to the US landing site and later reports a rumour from a “well-informed source in Moscow” that the craft is about to land. People in Jodrell’s control room can then be heard shouting “it’s landing” and “it’s going down much too fast” as they track Luna 15’s final moments before it crashes .

POPSNASA's mission: Can we live on the moon? The poles have areas of perpetual sunlight and perpetual shade. The sunlight would be useful as a source of solar power for colonists. The shaded areas may feature deposits of ice that have been locked up for billions of years. Such ice could be used not just as a source of water. Through electrolysis, it could be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen could be used both for respiration and to make rocket fuel for trips back and forth to Earth. But there's no definitive proof ice is there. The possible presence of water on the moon "is a hotly and passionately debated topic," Tooley said.
