POPSH1N1 (Swine 'Flu) overhyped After an otherwise healthy 13-year-old boy died of a H1N1 infection, demand for the vaccine jump drastically after the heavy media attention what was given to a horribly tragic, but still singular death from H1N1. Clinics were forced to shut down due to lack of supplies, and people who really should have gotten the vaccine first (like young children, pregnant mothers and seniors) lost out. H1N1 Influenza is a mere fraction of the virility of normal seasonal 'flu, and has fewer serious cases and deaths than seasonal 'flu. The normal, sensible steps you take to avoid getting the 'flu every year will work as well for H1N1. Yes, it looks serious when the media focuses on individual deaths from H1N1, but such coverage is deceptive. A few hundred deaths, Canada-side from H1N1 is tragic, but seasonal 'flu will claim several thousand, as it does every year. Just keep some perspective. Be aware; be mindful, but don't be scared. Think sensibly.

POPSBritney Spear's New Beau Treats Her Boys "Like His Own" When Britney Spears' two sons, Sean and Jayden, were looking for a pal to splash around with poolside during a recent trip with their mom to Mexico, they knew right who to call on: Her new beau, Jason Trawick. "Jason was great with the kids and you can tell Britney really trusts him," an eyewitness to the group's three-night getaway at the Tides Zihuatanejo resort in Mexico earlier this month, tells Us. "He would pick up Jayden if he wanted to be held, immediately calming the boy down." Trawick, 37, described as "a nice guy who doesn't take life too seriously," stood by Spears, 27, during her darkest moments (she was involuntarily committed twice to a psychiatric hospital in 2008 and lost custody of her boys the year before). " seems ready to take on the responsibility of a single mom with two kids," another friend of Trawick's confirms.

POPSIn Memory of Common Sense Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, “Truth” and “Trust,” by his wife, “Discretion,” by his daughter, “Responsibility,” and

POPSSavage Attack Leaves Man With Half A Head He was left in a coma for two weeks and his brain swelled so much surgeons removed the front half of his skull just hours after he was admitted. He now suffers frequent seizures, has difficulty talking, and lost much of his memory. Mr Gator now lives with his mother, who is his main carer as he can no longer work. Mrs Gator said: "He's just a different boy. His sparkle is totally gone. He used to be so independent but he can't work any more and he can't drive. He's got half a head and he's completely lost his confidence. "There's absolutely nothing protecting his brain now - it's just under his skin. We're waiting for surgery for a new skull plate to be put in." A Havering police spokesman said they had no plans to look for any other attackers in connection with the case, adding: "We gave the CPS all the evidence available and after reviewing the case they decided not to proceed with it. We adhere to their decision."

POPSOpium addiction ravages Afghan families "Beg says that for him all hope is lost. Even after he is buried, it'll take 70 years for the opium to ooze out of his bones. His hope, he says, are his grandkids — the only people in the family who are not yet addicts. As Beg is getting high on a recent morning, the 1-year-old crawls over and starts playing with the opium pipe. He picks it up and shakes it, as if it were a rattle. Then, imitating his grandfather, he raises the pipe to his mouth."

POPSTrial of Anti-Catholic Cult Leader In addition to his alleged sexual proclivities, Alamo frequently denigrated Catholics. He has blamed them for “every filthy thing,” including communism, Nazism, the two world wars, the Jonestown massacre, drugs, prostitution and pornography. He also spewed hatred toward gays, referring in a defense of polygamy to “these bastards, these homosexual Vaticanites, they condone homosexuals and they condemn marriage.” The SPLC lists his Tony Alamo Christian Ministries as a hate group. Alamo’s headquarters in Fouke, Ark., was raided last fall by dozens of federal and state law enforcement agents searching for evidence of child abuse. He was arrested on Sept. 25 at an Arizona motel. It’s not the first time he’s faced significant jail time: Alamo was convicted on tax evasion charges in 1994 and served four years of a six-year prison sentence.

POPSObamas tour slavers’ fort in ‘painful’ Ghana visit
This was the end of the President's recent overseas trip, first to Russia, then to the G8 in Italy, a visit to the Pope, then to the slave fortress. This clip has a wide range of pro and con and hostile international comments. Europeans seem very touchy and defensive about having it pointed out that slavery was not a U.S. invention. But the symbolism of the moment is not lost of hundreds of millions of blacks worldwide: For centuries they were treated like *hit and considered savage, half-humans and now one of their own returns, leader of one of the most powerful nations in world history. His message of "tough love," surprised several (but it's one of his themes), his idea of attacking the roots of the problem rather than the symptoms quite wise, and the comparisons (and differences) to The Holocaust we hear about every week rather illuminating. He got a few extra billion bucks for Africa out of the G8 and got back to the treaty with Russia to reduce nuke weapons. No

POPSMurdered at 5 months old......Little life Lost
Long gone is the Norman Rockwell kind of world I was raised in. Back when life help meaning. Families were families with a true unshakable bond. Parents and Cops were respected, and it wasn't an act to try to reflect the warmth you held for humanity. Then the government stepped in. We could no longer have prayer in school...might offend a minority of people. No longer stood to do the pledge of allegiance.....that offended some that were not from this country. Even though child abuse may have been less then 1% children were taught if your parents spank you or correct you tell your teacher or somebody. So kids gained rights and the parents were left to have to deal with them telling to go f____ themselves. And now we sit back and wonder what happened. Why is society the way it is without a clue and looking dumbfounded. I am a very simple man, no more education then the average collage grad but don't have to be a brain surgeon for me to figure it out. Thanks Government.....

POPSEpic Trek of 'Lost Boy' more (at source): It is not hard to see why. The book's publication, and the astonishing world it opens up, is further evidence of the tenacity and desire that took a young boy across a vast continent. ''My motivation is to make money to pay my law studies which cost 27,000 rands a year ," he said "and to get my two brothers through school. I have put them into a boarding school in Uganda."

POPSI Was Not Michael Jackson "He never seemed to understand, or be convinced himself. But now, listening to him sing as a child, even though I know he was too young to have a clue as to what he was singing about, I feel, just as I felt when I was a boy, that he knew and he felt exactly what he was singing. But I never, fairly, tried to understand — who he was, what he was asked to do — by our parents, by himself. And he was just a boy, how would he even know the question to ask? People will point to Michael Jackson’s discography, his surgeries, madness, all that he’s been given, earned and squandered. Many will testify about what he’s given, but I, in this moment, can only think of what he’s, we’ve, lost. The price he’s paid for where he’s been is his life. And I think about David in much the same way — the wake behind, and his narrowing future — where he is now, and how it cost him me.""
