And having been born in the U.S.A. it makes me sad to see that people, my friends in other countries think that Americans are a violent lot. Can Americans not see why? We should not have to have metal detectors in our schools. We should not have to accept that our society has changed this way. this might offend some people, but there are reasons why women can not be in a combative role, supportive roles yes, but not directly in combat situations. Just look at the army and Jessica Lynch....Then the tragic case of Pat Tillman, does our country or our troops need anymore of that kind of that "bad press"? We need to support the real military men and women that are really doing the right things abroad and in country. Most of the time, Marines like the female corpsman because it gives them a chance to take things "slower" as one could say... Later in the article, it states she was the corpsman support for combat missions. There isn't the question of if she can do it or not, its a statement of physical capabilities proved by science and simple biology. Don't misunderstand this either, I have tremendous respect for Corpsman, if it wasn't for them, many Marines would not have a chance.
