POPSThe House Sides with Main St: "No Deal" to Banksters! In this real game of "Deal or No Deal" the American taxpayer finally won a round against the financial heavyweights. While idiots in the House and talk radio (and the McCain campaign) tried to make this a partisan issue, Bloomberg tallies here that 40% of Democrats and 67% of Republicans combined together to narrowly defeat the Fed's bill that Bush supported. THAT IS CALLED A BI-PARTISAN DEFEAT OF THE BILL THAT AMERICANS IN THE MAJORITY TOLD CONGRESS THEY HATED! Conservative talk show host Michael Savage tonight (who has been railing against Bush as a fiscal socialist and the Wall Street banksters as crooks) underscored that he was right that Americans wanted "no deal" while talk show corporate sycophants (he let them have it by name)--i.e. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly--who supported the bailout were wrong. The defeat of this irresponsible bill was not based upon Partisanship, but good Principle.

POPSRFK Jr. on Palin's Big Oil infatuation
Now John McCain has chosen as his running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a diligent student of Big Oil's crib sheets. She's something of a flat-earther who shares the current administration's contempt for science. Palin has expressed skepticism about evolution (which is like not believing in gravity), putting it on par with "creationism," which posits that the Earth was created 6,000 years ago. She used to insist that human activities have nothing to do with climate change. "I'm not one ... who would attribute it to being man-made," she said in August. After she joined the GOP ticket, she magically reversed herself, to a point. "Man's activities certainly can be contributing to the issue of global warming," she told Charles Gibson two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Alaska is melting before our eyes; entire villages erode as sea ice vanishes, glaciers are disappearing at a frightening clip, and "dancing forests" caused by disappearing permafrost astonish residents and tourists. Palin had to

POPSRush Limbaugh Hates Mexicans - But in a Funny Way! My problem with Rush is not that he's a bigot. Bigots are actually funny to me in the way that people who still wear parachute pants give me a chuckle. What bothers me about Rush's ilk is that they don't actually have the stones to be real racists or women haters or anti- Semites. Though they irresponsibly fan the flames of hatred, they don't own the strength of their convictions. When they are called on their stuff they run back to their bunker, which is heavily fortified for a reason, crying "but it was only a joke!" Like when Rush joked that Obama was a "haf-rican," or when he jested that Obama was a "magical negro." Oh, the hilarity. Be a man, Rush. Be a hateful man, but be a man instead of a pasty- lookin' crackhead drug addict whose wives keep ditching him 'cause he's impotent. That last bit was just satire, of course, so please don't take it out of context.

POPSTwo Hispanic Hillary Clinton Supporters Endorse John McCain Secaira, who is of Dominican descent, traveled to eight states to coordinate grassroots efforts for Senator Clinton, has a doctorate of neuropsychology and was trained at New York University. ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 held a press conference call with Miguel D. Lausell, Senior Political Advisor to Hillary Clinton, and Clinton Delegate-at-Large Luchy Secaira. Both Lausell and Secaira endorsed John McCain for president. On Barack Obama’s recent ad that used out-of-context quotes from Rush Limbaugh to insinuate that John McCain insulted Hispanics: Secaira: “There goes the new politics. I don’t see anything new about put-down politics. And once again, I want to reiterate that the Hispanic community has nothing to fear because they know John McCain. uppitywoman08.wordpress.com

POPS"Dos Caras" Obama Is Stoking Racial Antagonism
Here's the relevant part of the Spanish-language television commercial Mr. Obama is running in Hispanic communities: "They want us to forget the insults we've put up with . . . the intolerance . . . they made us feel marginalized in this country we love so much." Then the commercial flashes two quotes from me: ". . . stupid and unskilled Mexicans" and "You shut your mouth or you get out!" The first sound bite was extracted from a 1993 humorous monologue poking fun at the arguments against the North American Free Trade Agreement. Here's the context: "If you are unskilled and uneducated, your job is going south. Skilled workers, educated people are going to do fine 'cause those are the kinds of jobs Nafta is going to create. If we are going to start rewarding no skills and stupid people, I'm serious, let the unskilled jobs that take absolutely no knowledge whatsoever to do -- let stupid and unskilled Mexicans do that work." POPS"John McCain's Journey from Maverick to Liar" "For 18 months, Obama has wagered all his chips on the (quaint? idealistic? brilliant?) idea that the American people are tired of the same old sleazy and divisive politics. McCain has now chosen to bet against him."

POPSPalin Plays the Hillary Card, Blatant Attempt to Swing Women Voters
A blatant appeal to feminist sexism here by Palin to chase women votes, i.e. vote for me because I am the woman candidate you wanted (forget everything else)! It was disgusting when Hillary played it, but now Palin does likewise. There is some truth to what she says, but her blatant flattery (which the Bible condemns as hypocrisy) of Hillary is dishonest (and she gets called on it in this clip). The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips--Ps. 12:3 ...including Palin's. Clearly the purpose here is to 1) preempt speculation that Biden will be swapped for Hillary after a reported meeting with Bill Clinton, and 2) to go after the embittered Hillary supporters who vowed to not support Obama. Palin here is trying to pick off the most vulnerable of the Democratic flock. Seriously now, does the GOP and republicans agree with her praises of Hillary? Let's hear now if Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly agree with her--if they dare!

POPSSheeple Blinded by the Babe Factor It's disgusting the way this whole Palin jazz is unfolding. Any objective person would see right thru her facade. A reat Mom? Maybe...but her teen daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. Not such good parenting there, is there? Popular in Alaska? that's great, but I live in Alaska and it's a racist filled state with some very strange (some wonderful, most not) people. And the politics there are stuck in the 50's, with a weird fringe twist. Finding a Progressive in Alaska is like findin a Polar bear in Arizona.

POPSMemo to President Obama 2010 Politically, we have not seen the benefits of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. It seems that every Democratic Senator has decided that if you could become President they could too. Considering that they are all more qualified than you, all of them are now also running for President - with the exception of Senator Schumer, who seems to be running for the position of God. He believes that is his appropriate pay grade, since no one else has it.

POPSVice In Go-Go Boots? "The legacy of Geraldine Ferraro was supposed to be that no one would ever go on a blind date with history again. But that crazy maverick and gambler McCain does it, and conservatives and evangelicals rally around him in admiration of his refreshingly cynical choice of Sarah, an evangelical Protestant and anti-abortion crusader who became a hero when she decided to have her baby, who has Down syndrome, and when she urged schools to debate creationism as well as that stuffy old evolution thing."

POPSAdmiral: Scrap Enlistment Age Limits Here, here! I agree! I hear Rush Limbaugh has gotten himself into shape, this would allow him the chance to make up for avoiding Vietnam! Ted Nugent too, I heard an interview where he expressed regret for showing up with urine and fecal matter in his pants to avoid being drafted for Nam! He's in pretty good shape for his age.
