Bill O'Rielly and Fox (News?) Screwing You? You Bet!
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  9-6-2009
This dialog came from this site: http://letters.mobile.salon.com/opinion/feature/2009/06/29/family_values/view/index.html It says it all concerning conservative wingnuts such as Fox (You Call That News?)! Q: How many conservative wingnuts does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: There will be no screwing ...unless their name is Craig, Vitter, Sanford, Foley or Ensign:eek: ...Perhaps (right) wingnuts should try being human... That's the core issue here, conservative policies are INHUMANE, war, plundered economy and constitutional rights, laws that let corp. scam artists run amok... (pro-choice hate mongering) If the question was asked ... what kind of policy do Americans support without context to politics, the majority of people's answers would be "liberal" and "moderate" on issues such as job security, regulations of financial institutions, universal health coverage, education and social security. F**k (Right) wingnuts...and I don't mean screw or sex.

Why are they doing it? And by what right? They can't need the money. And massively hypocritical to boot! And the figure does not count all the emissions from people travelling to attend the concerts. When will live Web concerts catch on?

'Green' lightbulbs poison workers
billpar
by billpar  5-12-2009
I've tried these bulbs and they are supposed to have a much longer life, however I've gone through many of these expensive bulbs because they don't last like they are supposed to. I also didn't like the idea of my toddler being exposed to Mercury if a bulb breaks, so I've gone back to standard light bulbs, although I refuse to by GE bulbs because of the reports that at one point they were funneling weapons to Iran which were being used against our troops.

Booty and the Beasts
merrie

“A lightbulb went off and they realize they can get ransoms by taking unarmed ships,” said Robert Rotberg, a Harvard University Kennedy School professor. Here are some Somali pirate particulars: • Khat, pronounced like “caught,” is a mild stimulant that can have a euphoric effect. It’s grown mainly in Yemen, but is wildly popular in the lawless East African nation. • It took 206 years, but the Bainbridge name has been avenged. The USS Bainbridge, the American warship dispatched to rescue the crew of the Maersk Alabama, was named for the last American naval commander to lose his ship to pirates. Commodore William Bainbridge was at the helm of the USS Philadelphia when Barbary pirates captured it off the coast of Tripoli in what is now Libya. He also commanded the USS Constitution during the War of 1812, when the ship earned the moniker “Old Ironsides.” HT jules crittenden

NYTimes Front Page ~ “Do New Bulbs Save Energy If They Don’t Work”
merrie
by merrie  3-29-2009    6
In California, where bulbs have been heavily encouraged, utilities have concluded that they will not be able to persuade a majority of consumers to switch until compact fluorescents get better. That is prompting them to develop specifications for a better bulb. Finally, Consumers are supposed to be able to protect themselves by buying bulbs certified under the government’s Energy Star program. But experts and some environmental groups complain that Energy Star standards are weak, permitting low-quality bulbs with too high a level of mercury, a toxic metal contained in all compact fluorescents. Steve Milloy predicted the greens would do an about-face on the mercury in CFLs more than a year ago in this February 21, 2008 FoxNews.com column entitled, “Looming Lightbulb Liability.”

Trigger Points: Diagnosis and Management (peer-reviewed journal article)
Lexica

When I first started learning about trigger points, it was one of those lightbulb moments where you find yourself saying "OHHHHHH! That makes a LOT of things make sense now." Who knew that a tennis ball could be one of the most effective pain relief tools available? Hurts a lot while you're doing it, but feels SO good afterwards.
