POPSMI Rep Bart Stupak (D) Being Threatened By The Obama To Shut Up About Abortion Funding
He's threatening him. Chicago thug politics courtesy of our community organizer-in-chief. The Michigan Democrat succeeded last month in getting 64 House Democrats to join him in attaching his pro-life amendment to the House version of the health-care bill. The “Stupak amendment,” as the provision is known, would prohibit the federal government from allocating taxpayer money to pay for any part of any health insurance plan that covers abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger. Stupak had contact with the White House last weekend, when the Senate voted 60 to 40 in the wee hours of Monday morning to shut off debate on the Senate version of the bill. The current version of the Senate bill contains so-called “compromise” language crafted by Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.). This language does not bar taxpayer funding of health plans that cover abortion, but does create a firewall to supposedly keep federal money from being used to pay

POPSStatement by the National Right to Life Committee On The New Reid "manager's amendment" to H.R. 3590
This seems to envision a system under which the OPM director would administer multi-state plans that cover elective abortions, and perhaps even possess authority to require such plans to cover elective abortions, as long as the director also ensured that there was one plan that did not cover abortions (except types of abortions also funded by the federal Medicaid program). This would be a sharp break from the policy that has long governed the Federal Employees Health Benefits program, which is also a program administered by OPM, under which private plans are completely prohibited from covering elective abortions if they wish to participate in the program. The Reid manager's amendment contains a new section providing that a state "may elect to prohibit abortion coverage in qualified health plans offered through an Exchange in such State if such State enacts a law to provide for such prohibition.

POPSHanged Census Worker likely Insurance Fraud/Suicide There were no defensive wounds on Bill Sparkman's body, and while his hands were bound with duct tape, they still were somewhat mobile, suggesting he could have manipulated the rope, the officials said. He was found hanging from the tree yet was in contact with the ground.

POPSLower costs with more administration I have owned, ran and worked for a number of small, and a couple large, businesses in my career. I can honestly think of NO instance where hiring thousands of people, especially unionized, paid-for-life government workers, could lower costs for anyone. Even at 1900+ pages, it doesn't cover HALF the uninsured. This is success? Wake up people before 20% of your wages are stolen for shoddy "care."

POPSAn Obama speechwriter moves to Massachusetts...she can't afford health insurance An Obama speechwriter moves to Massachusetts, a state with "universal health care," and finds out she can't afford insurance. Turns out that individual mandates and the requirement that insurance cover everything for everybody make insurance super-expensive (exactly what some are warning will happen with ObamaCare.) It's like the saying goes, "If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free."

POPSI Love My Socialist Kidney family history mirrors exactly the period from 1973 to 2009, during which this entitlement program has allowed access to life-saving dialysis and kidney transplants, treatments previously denied to all but a very privileged few.

POPSWhy we SHOULD give illegal immigrants health care coverage What's more important? Posturing over "no coverage for illegals!!!" or actually saving money and improving health care for all? More: What's more, employers currently have a clear economic incentive to hire undocumented immigrants: they don't require coverage. A plan that mandates insurance for native workers but not their illegal counterparts actually makes life harder on the blue-collar Americans competing for jobs (and railing against immigrants) because it means that hiring them will cost more than hiring a recent transplant from Mexico City…. But despite the potential economic upside, the right shouldn't stress: America won't insure its illegal immigrants any time soon. "The hard thing here is that the current state of perception on immigration is eroding our sense of social solidarity… People simply don't want money going to people on the other side of the tracks."

POPSYoung Man Dies for Lack of Public Option I want to tell you about my only sibling, my brother Eric De La Cruz.1 Diagnosed with Severe Dilated Cardiomyopathy five years ago and in need of a heart transplant, my brother Eric passed away far too early this July 4th. All because the health care insurance system in the United States is broken. You see, unlike most of us (but like millions of others), Eric couldn't get private insurance. His employer didn't offer it as a benefit. And his heart condition, while treatable, was a pre-existing condition that no private insurers would cover. Sadly, there was no affordable, public option to protect Eric. So he remained excluded from the basic right to life-saving treatment that all people deserve. Although a heart transplant would save him, without coverage, Eric's condition needlessly and slowly deteriorated. Continued at source....+ details of 'support health insurance reform' rallies around the US.

POPSIt's going to get tricky now. They're quick! They will say now, since they've dropped the "end-of-life counseling, you don't have to worry about rationing on the elderly or gov't intervention (no matter how subtle or stealthy). Here we see 40% (I saw elsewhere that it was 80% in a "straight" news article) LESS to be paid to medicare providers. Do we then have facilities with less to invest in equipment? Lower wages to docs & personell? Leading to bad attitudes? Moonlighting? Overworked & stressed employees? Rushing more patients through to compensate for the lower reimbursement? I don't know. Does this logic follow? They sure don't have a workable plan, here. And they know it. It IS clear that THAT is why they wanted to rush it through.

POPSWhen the "option" to die becomes a duty Of course the law was proposed as giving a choice to die with dignity, but appears to be on the road to becoming a case of "We will not treat you, so it's your choice to die in pain or commit suicide - which we'll foot the bill for." The spokesman for the State health plan called the letter " a public relations blunder and something the state is 'working on"'. Apologising for the manner in which the actions are communicated is NOT the same as apologizing for the action. Still, that's all the State has done.

Under the plan now being considered by Congress, Medicare would reimburse doctors for counseling sessions with the elderly and terminally ill, The Washington Post reports. The voluntary counseling would cover treatment options, living wills and the designation of medical proxies.

POPSMy Response to Sen. D. Stabenow (D-MI)
For the most part, my insurance coverage is catastrophic only. My portion of the premiums if I were to cover eligible members of my family would cost nearly 1/4 of my bi-weekly take home pay. Obviously, if a mortgage is only supposed to by 1/3 of your monthly salary, then insurance premiums are nearly the price of a good-sized house. Adding to the 'ranks of the uninsured' is the fact of a 14.2% unemployment rate - of which my husband is one. He doesn't qualify for unemployment insurance so he isn't even counted. So, why are my premiums so high? First, because malpractice insurance for my physicians is totally out of control due to frivolous law suits, huge legal fees and the costs associated with trying even a small case. The judge, clerks, bailiffs, secretaries, etc...all have to be paid - by me, the taxpayer. Because of the need to cover themselves, doctors are forced to order complicated, often if not always expensive and sometimes unnecessary tests and procedures. Ev

POPSInsurance Reviews In today’s world, you’re at risk almost all the time. The risk may be to your life or any asset that could cause you financial losses. Even though you cannot get your life back once lost, you can definitely cover up the expenditures and losses incurred on your assets via insurance. For example, if your car gets vandalized or maybe you crash into someone and your car gets severely damaged, you’d incur expenses of thousands of dollars. However, you can easily cover this by using your car insurance.
