POPS About Last Night OK, some right reax. NRO: Obie misrepresents the Citizens United decision. It’s HotAir’s Obamateurism of the Day. Turns out the decision doesn’t give the farm away to foreign corporations. Hannity and Palin think it will be a “huge takeaway moment.” I dunno, I kinda doubt it. People have been letting him get away with misrepresenatations for a couple of years now. I think the huge takeaway is going to be the continued flailing and inability to accomplish anything. HotAir has AP’s 10 Whoppers and then adds the ones AP missed. Gateway lifts the rock on the SOTU job claims, finds “crony capitalism.” $100 m for 15 jobs and a Dem donor’s company. Sorry, I missed that when I was busy mocking all the public sector hack jobs he saved. Hyscience dozed off, but saw enough to rate an A on chutzpah and Fs on non-partisanship and substance. Gerson, WaPo, scathingly: President Obama’s primary problem is not rhetorical " though, about an hour into the State of The Union

POPSMedia’s Preferential Treatment of GOP Liars = HowCanYouSay FilthyRich Takeover of Media Not Hurt Our
Sure you will hear this: Rupert Murdoch spouting publicly that his ownership of the Wall Street Jounral would not in any way affect editorial policy. But how can anyone buy that obvious bullshit? Of course he would say that! I’ll never believe it. For I was long ago personally involved in the beginnings of the pervasive media mind control program that was initiated by the Filthy Rich, when they were first frightened out of their wits that they might lose control of the population in the Sixties. Not only was media control by ownership used, but TV anchorman Howard K. Smith was fired over it, history’s records were changed because of it, and it led to a massive restructuring of our higher education, our Publishing industry, and our education institutions at all levels down to kindergarten. It was the first major offensive in the Culture War from the side of the Filthies, the first step toward Communist-style brainwashing, the first step in the erosion of our free press, free speech,

POPSBy Hook or By Crook “Representing the people?” What a joke. That’s the last thing on earth the Democrat Socialists want to see happen, in this case or any other. Just another example of Corruptocrat swine grubbing for any way they can find to get their snouts into the trough. Forget elections; at this point, what we need to do is put some apples in their mouths and hold a good old-fashioned pig-pickin’.

POPSCongress's Secret Plan to Pass Obamacare
a health care bill, which will allow him to take extraordinary steps to get the bill on the Senate floor. During the mark-up last week, members had difficulty offering amendments and trying to make constructive changed because they lacked actual legislative text and Baucus made unilateral last minute changes. For example, the AP reported that "under pressure from fellow Democrats, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee decided to commit an additional $50 billion over a decade toward making insurance more affordable for working-class families." Step 2: Sen. Reid will take the final product of the Senate Finance Committee and merge it with the product of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, which passed on a party-line vote in July. Usually, a bill is voted out of committee, and then the Senate takes up the final product of the committee so that all 100 senators can have a hand in the process. With some help from the Obama administration .....

POPSThe Nefarious Force Behind Cap-and-Trade "Climate Religion" to our very severe recession is taking place. Significant increases in taxes or interest rates have been shown in the past to have the potential to stall or crush a recovery. Moreover, now that the government’s claimed fundamental motivation for this legislation is apparently, at least in part, a sham, there is a growing suspicion among many people that the government knew that climate change arguments were overblown all along. Why, then, are they so dead-set on passing cap-and-trade? It’s All About Power and Control The present administration has virtually declared themselves to be socialist, and their actions support this perspective. The have needlessly nationalized financial and automobile companies, greatly increasing their power in those sectors. They’ve gone to the extent of setting executive salaries in a supposedly free market. Moreover, the president has openly stated that he want to “spread the wealth around”----

POPSAnother Republican says health care reform will destroy America. Rep. Broun, that is. Right -- if a liberal like Grayson calls out Republicans (who have no health care plan), they get their freak on. But I guess they have already been immunized to conservative insanity. Oh, and we have Rep. Gohmert saying this: Dems Would Allow Seniors To "Die Off More Quickly" This is standard conservative behavior that never gets mentioned by the media. It only comes up when a liberal is attacked and then they spend 24-48 hours to defend themselves and are forced to use these outrageous statement made by Republicans. And of course they have no traction, because of the defensive position the media puts liberals in.

POPSGaffney Tells Reagan "Your Father Would Be Ashamed Of You" (VIDEO) In June, Gaffney wrote a column insisting that President Obama might really be a Muslim. In March, Gaffney argued that "evidence" exists connecting Saddam Hussein to 9/11, the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, and the Oklahoma City bombing. Last September, Gaffney argued that Sarah Palin has learned foreign policy through "osmosis," by living in Alaska. He's argued that U.S. forces really did find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but the media covered it up. He's used made-up quotes and recommended "hanging" Democratic officials critical of the Bush administration's Iraq policy. He even believes there's "evidence" to support the "Birthers," and once recommended a military strike on Al Jazeera headquarters. ------ In other words a man with no shame invokes the specter of another man dead father to attack him. Classy!

Do libs think no one notices this hypocrisy? Hells bells, talk about idiocy and stupidity of epic proportion. They make this shit up about Limbaugh. They make it up! Yet their own damn party is out there in the open doing it in front of our very eyes. Sick. Gross. No, Dave, you don't get to decide when this story end. Count on it to last a long time. I don't forgive or forget that easy. You can count on that.

POPSFormer Secret Service Tell-All: Jimmy Carter a Fake, Phony, Liar Not surprising to me, but Reagan and Bush got the best reviews...the nicest. Read it and weep: http://www.northstarnational.com/2009/10/14/secret-service-agent-opens-window-private-lives-presidents/ Carter “didn’t want the police officers and agents looking at him or speaking to him when he went to the office,” explained an assistant White House usher. “The only time I saw a smile on Carter’s face was when the cameras were going,” one former agent told Kessler. After his presidency, Kessler reports that when Carter would stay at a townhouse maintained for former presidents in D.C., he would take down pictures of other presidents and put up more pictures of himself! “The Carters were the biggest liars in the world,” one agent told Kessler of the Carter era. Not surprising, liberals say they're for the common man; in an episode of Fringe maybe.

POPSReport: ‘Death panels’ author worked with big tobacco to scuttle health reform Susie Madrak, in her blog at Crooks and Liars, cites key parts of the Rolling Stone article: W]hat has not been reported until now is that McCaughey’s writing was influenced by Phillip Morris, the world’s largest tobacco company, as part of a secret campaign to scuttle Clinton’s health care reform. (The measure would have been funded by a huge increase in tobacco taxes.) In an internal company memo from March 1994, the tobacco giant detailed its strategy to derail Hillarycare through an alliance with conservative think tanks, front groups and media outlets. Integral to the company’s strategy, the memo observed, was an effort to “work on the development of favorable pieces” with “friendly contacts in the media.” The memo, prepared by a Phillip Morris executive, mentions only one author by name:
