POPSAmericans now fleeing to Mexico Unconfirmed Sources political satire and news story parodies as represented above are written as satire or parody. They are, of course, fictitious.

POPSCongress approval rating just 10% "A political establishment held in higher regard may have been able to hold together some kind of coalition of the willing," wrote Joel Achenbach in the Washington Post. "But distrust of the nation's leaders, from the leaders of Congress to the president, foreclosed that possibility." This was not mere rhetoric. Congress's public approval rating was down to 18% before the crisis hit. By some estimates, it is now 10% and falling. Washington has seen a "throw the bums out" mood before, notably Newt Gingrich's 1994 anti-government "Republican revolution". But this is something else. Like some others, Gingrich is calling for the resignation of Hank Paulson, the treasury secretary, for presiding over a train wreck and then failing to persuade people why $700bn was needed to get back on the rails.

POPSRadiation Detection at Ports? $3.1 Billion According to the clip, via National Journal's Earlybird news digest, the Department of Homeland Security says GAO's estimate is misleadingly high "because it includes operation and maintenance costs." Unless I'm missing something, that strikes me as an unusually lame response. Why wouldn't you consider maintenance costs for something like a system to detect nukes?

POPSFascists Never Die- Palin-Pegler-Propaganda Written by a speech writer for Bush!!! The same old lame, but effective, propaganda repeated by people who just seem "so nice and affable" like Palin makes the fascist Propaganda more effective today. POPSLame you can believe in Few voters know that Obama would cut taxes of the vast majority of Americans by far more than McCain would. Few know Obama would guarantee everyone access to health care or that McCain’s health plan might endanger coverage many already have. Few know that Obama has a coherent program to create new jobs through public investment in roads, bridges, transit and green technologies. Few know that McCain’s economic plan is worse than President Bush’s. McCain would add $8.5 trillion in new debt over the next 10 years. Political campaigns are supposed to be an opportunity to tell the public what you are about, it should not be used as an opportunity to attack the other party. To both candidates: Get your message out, make us 'feel' we have to vote for you and not against the other guy. Let the American public decide which one is good or bad for us. Stop the manipulation and the attack politics.

POPS Obama's Top 10 Flip Flops Also everyone should know that Jerry Yang, the Yahoo! Inc Co-Founder, is a big Democrat supporter who himself has been guilty of helping the Chinese government imprison people. Obama's Gun Flip Flops Obama's Oil Spill - Obama says he doesn't take money from oil companies. We say that's a little too slick. Obama's Lame Claim About McCain's Money - Obama says McCain is "fueled" by money from lobbyists and PACs, but those sources account for less than 1.7 percent of McCain's money. Obama's Real Record: Public Housing -Obama rich friends hurts communities proof that Obama's Hope and Change rhetoric is all symbolism and no substance? Look no farther than this devastating Boston Globe investigation: http://thedailyvoice.com/voice/2008/07/obamas-favorite-flip-flops-000825.php original link http://hiphoprepublican.com/2008/06/obamas-favorite-flip-flops.html

POPSIRA on the rampage So when is President Bush going to invade Ulster to assist it main ally? Lame Duck President, lame duck ideals, lame duck foreign policies. So which half-wit keeps telling us the war is over? Tony B'liar and his beneficiaries! So this is why they want 42 days detention, to stop people from talking about anything that might improve security. Watch out Britain. We are being suckered into doing something monumentally stupid...to accept what this Government says as truth.

POPSPalin as Russia Expert Becomes GOP Talking Point It's a measure of how weak the pro-Palin argument is that this becomes a Republican talking point. Cindy McCain could be excused for saying it, but John "former Ambassador to the UN" Bolton? He knows it's total BS. The Palin part of the team offers a very weak agreement with this argument, revealing that they're aware of just how lame it is; "Alaska’s geographic location certainly contributes to Governor Palin’s experience since she has dealt with trade and economic issues as a result, but it is only one part of her overall experience."

POPSPolice Trap Peaceful Protesters in Denver Video wouldn't clip--see at link...Police have real nice Uniforms--WITHOUT BADGES OR NAMETAGS, WHICH IS ILLEGAL BUT GOOD GESTAPO STUFF...None of this made the Lame stream media, of course.

POPSJohn McCain Needs to Lay Off the POW Talk The fact is, John McCain's service during Vietnam was honorable and he sacrificed a great deal. But his service to the country carries no more weight than that of any other POW. Likewise, while McCain has given so much to his country, thousands of veterans--past and present--have given as much or more. In this war alone, thousands of troops have lost limbs, been paralyzed, and been burned beyond recognition. So to see McCain resort to playing the POW card when answering legitimate questions, in my mind, cheapens that experience. And by cheapening his own experience in war, he degrades all of our experiences in war. He turns the horrific incidents we've all seen, touched, smelled, and felt into a lame excuse to earn political points. And it dishonors us all. And while Spencer Ackerman is not a veteran himself, I think he sums up what many combat vets are feeling today after hearing the campaign's statement:

POPSAmerica's Economic Free Fall The bailouts are rewarding the very people and institutions whose reckless behavior caused this financial mess. Yet government demands nothing from them in return -- like new rules for prudent behavior and explicit obligations to serve the national interest. Washington ought to compel the financial players to rein in their appetite for profit in order to help save the country from a far worse fate: a depressed economy that cannot regain its normal energies. Instead, the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, the Democratic Congress and of course the Republicans meekly defer to the wise men of high finance, who no longer seem so all-knowing.
