POPSNew York Translation Workers Define Science
New York Translation Workers Define Science New York City Translation, NYC Translator, English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, InterpreterWhat is science? To New York Translation workers, it is nothing more than the isolation of facts that have been gathered through observations and experiments. Recently, teams of translators at leading New York research institutions met to discuss the meaning of science. What they came up with is that science is a discipline that allows the world to be more predictable and more easily understood. To expand on on their simple definition, the translation workers defined the scientific method as a process of questioning, observing and developing explanations. The New York translators also said that science doesn't have to be about research grants or result in articles but it needs to rely on the scientific method. As such, science is a systematic way of learning about the universe.

POPSGlobal Warming Fraud and the Future of Science It is this, and no less, that scientific fraud threatens. This is no trivial matter; it involves one of the basic elements of modern Western life. When scientific figures lie, they lie to all of us. If they foment serious distrust of the scientific endeavor -- as they are doing -- they are creating a schism in the heart of our culture, a wound that in the long run could prove even more deadly than the jihadi terrorists. The apparent success of the climate hustlers has infected all areas of research. Over the past decade, stem-cell studies have proven a hotbed of fraud. Recall Dr. Hwang Woo Suk, the South Korean biologist who claimed to have cloned various higher animals and isolated new stem cell lines to worldwide applause. Suk was discovered to have faked all his research, prompting the South Korean government to ban him from taking part in any further work.

POPS'Soothsayer' blogger feels the heat Blame game to take the heat off the financial wizards working for the govt. Like any science, economics has some basic rules, but is complicated by reality. Minerva can make predictions based on these simple rules, as can you or me, and some will be correct. It is the dealing with reality bit that we, and Minerva, can come unstuck in.

POPSCarbs Are Back, Again Just when you thought that the craze over carbs was over, the LA Tiimes is reporting that the food industry may have found a new angle to dwell on: the health benefits of carbs with 'resistant starches'. Found in navy beans, green bananas and whole-grain breads, these starches contribute to the production of fatty acids and colon health. They may also help lower cholesterol levels and aid in weight loss. The only problem is you may have to eat a lot of these foods to get the health benefits. Pass the bread!

"But this collaborative census demonstrates precisely how dangerously low the numbers are and how dire the overall situation is,"
