Popcorn balls
bignosemousie
by bignosemousie  10-27-2009
From the comments, I added one tsp. salt and 2 tsps. vanilla after the sugar mix came to a boil. Be careful because adding the vanilla will cause the sugar mixture to boil up and sputter. Also, I reduced the powdered sugar to 2 cups. It is plenty sweet. Also, keep the popcorn warm while making the sauce in a 200 degree F oven. I got 24 balls out of this and they taste FANTASTIC. Word from the comments is that the marshmallow keeps these from becoming rock hard like other popcorn balls. And, bonus, you do not need a candy thermometer. I will make again very soon. Easy and tasty.

NYTimes Declares Fox News Winner!
merrie
by merrie  10-23-2009    2
After discussing past Presidents who unsuccessfully fought the press, Carr first scolded the White House, and then declared an unpredictable winner: Even though almost all the critiques contained a kernel of truth, in each instance the folks who had the barrels of ink, and now pixels, seemed to come out ahead. So far, the only winner in this latest dispute seems to be Fox News. Ratings are up 20 percent this year, and the network basked for a week in the antagonism of a sitting president... he administration, by deploying official resources against a troublesome media organization, seems to have brought a knife to a gunfight. Carr seemed even less impressed with the tactics the Adminstration has been employing in this battle: On the official White House Web site, a blog called Reality Check provides a running tally of transgressions by Fox News. It ends with this: "For even more Fox lies, check out the latest ‘Truth-O-Meter' . . .

I'm not shilling for these people, but if you love popcorn you haven't lived until you've had a bowl of baby-rice popcorn. If you live in the farm belt, seek some out locally. Be sure to buy a large quantity, because once you've had it, there's no going back to Orville.

Solaris 10 Kernel Patches are primarily installed to remove all the firmware problems and software bugs. In most cases, you are benefited with installation of Solaris Kernel Patches. However, there can be instances where your system becomes unbootable after installing these patches.

An enemy of today's capitalistic economic system.....
infidel70

QFS: Hitler was intent on having a community of mutual interest that desired mutual success instead of one that was divided over the control of money or differing values. THE COMMON INTEREST BEFORE SELF-INTEREST - THAT IS THE SPIRIT OF THE PROGRAM. BREAKING OF THE THRALDOM OF INTEREST - THAT IS THE KERNEL OF NATIONAL SOCIALISM. In these straightforward statements of intent, Hitler translated his ideology into a plan of action which would prove its popularity with the German people throughout the coming years. For many, the abruptness of its departure from the tradition of politics as practiced in the western world was as much of a shock as its liberal nature and foresight of the emerging problems of western democracy.

BitDefender for Linux!
EApubs
by EApubs  8-18-2009
More the security the better! Its true that there are a less number of viruses targeted for Linux but that doesn’t mean that its totally virus free! so to be on the safe side better to strengthen your defenses! Its hard to find a good virus scan for Linux, but recently I found out that Bit Defender (One of the top anti virus makers) has started to make anti viruses for Linux systems! It is called the BitDefender Anti virus Scanner for Unices! Actually it doesn’t offer a real-time protection, but who needs a real time protection for Linux?

The Truth About Palm Oil *Landmark Article
hirokojiayi
by hirokojiayi  7-10-2009
Palm oil is produced from the fruit of the Elaeis guineensis tree. It is a vegetable oil, not an animal or dairy product, and therefore does not contain cholesterol. Palm oil sometimes is confused with palm kernel oil, but in fact is quite different, being made from the mesocarp of the palm fruit rather than the hard center kernel. Palm oil contains much less saturated fat than palm kernel or coconut oil.
