POPSJohn Ziegler Arrest at Couric Award Ceremony for Palin Interview John went to USC to witness and ask questions about Katie Couric getting the Walter Cronkite journalism award for her interview of Sarah Palin. He intended to also give away copies of his film but was literally prevented from doing so. He did not go there hoping for or expecting any sort of confrontation, especially with law enforcement. He was simply shocked and horrified by what happened there, as should every freedom loving American. He did absolutely nothing wrong and was handcuffed, detained and literally abused by law enforcement at the event. The video speaks for itself, John will have plenty to say about this very disturbing episode. youtube video (7:58)

POPS "Media Malpractice" John Ziegler's Movie Kudos to Kevin Ferris for having the mettle to write about Media Malpractice. It takes a certain strength of character to step back and examine the actions of the media during the past election cycle. Even more so when it is your chosen profession. Perhaps Kevin should hand out copies of ‘Better‘ along with this article to his fellow journalists at the Inquirer. They need all the help they can get! I found a great video of John Zeigler talking about the media’s reaction to his film. He jokes about having enough material from the reception his film received to make a Media Malpractice 2 - only I don’t believe he was joking. POPS"Media Malpractice" How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted Maybe it’s something closer to an Agatha Christie mystery where everyone’s the murderer. The victim, of course, is American journalism. Even for those of us who obsessively followed every twist and turn of the 2008 presidential election, watching Ziegler’s autopsy of the grisly affair, starting with the primaries and ending with the days immediately following Barack Obama’s securing of the Presidency, is to experience in a comprehensive way the breadth and scope of American media corruption. Watching election coverage in real time last year was often frustrating to the point of outrage, and for the first half-hour of “Media Malpractice” the old outrage returns. But what Ziegler does is summarize his case like a prosecutor delivering a closing argument, bringing the disparate pieces together into something much more important than a narrative.

POPSPalin: Is Kennedy getting 'kid glove' treatment? Unfortunately, there is nothing to take out of context, there is whole context at all, that simply cannot be treated by the media in any other way it's been treated. It must be something essential behind pretty face and what was left after shopping spree to win hearts of ordinary people.

POPSPilger: 'Calling for a Boycott of Israel' Part 2 A campaign aimed at the EU, which accounts for two-thirds of Israel's exports under an EU-Israel Association Agreement. Intimidation has worked in the past. The smearing of American academics has denied them promotion, even tenure. The courageous Israeli historian, Ilan Pappé, believes a single democratic state, to which the Palestinian refugees are given the right of return, is the only feasible and just solution, and that a sanctions and boycott campaign is critical in achieving this. Would the Israeli population be moved by a worldwide boycott? Although they would rarely admit it, South Africa's whites were moved enough to support an historic change. A boycott of Israeli institutions, goods and services, says Pappé, "will not change the position in a day, but it will send a clear message that are racist and unacceptable in the 21st century . . . They would have to choose." And so would the rest of us. ...Pilger
