POPSHillary Clinton: US Wants Israel To Stop Building West Bank Settlements 'Forever' But Clinton has had to do a lot of explaining since last Saturday, when she stood with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and praised his offer to limit settlement construction without halting it. Clinton has since tried to clarify the remarks, saying that the Israeli offer does not got far enough. Still, she has indicated that the Palestinians should resume negotiations with Israel without a full settlement halt as they demand.

POPSGoodbye Palestinian State
The chief negotiator for Palestine in the Eviction Talks (definitely NOT "peace talks,") with Israel says it might be time to give up the two-state solution. Of course the negotiations were a charade and this is the USA-puppet Palestinian government, not Hamas, but still it rings out as a profound statement, a "thinking of the unthinkable," for Palestinians, a clear declaration of surrender. Thus, the Israeli Eviction Talks seem to be moving along well for them. Erekat seems to miss the point on that. He thinks there will have to be a One State Solution, with Jews, Christians and Muslims all living happily together. Oh my. That is not in accord with the Israeli Eviction Notice. And where does Erekat get the idea that the U.S. will come to Palestinian aid? How long and how much do you have to beat up some people before they get the message? -- The U.S. is on the side of Israel (giving cash, weapons, support for Zionism at home and in the UN). Maybe an "Aineisa," will

POPSMore USA-ME Double Talk
The USA pretenses for ME peace stumbled a few days ago when Sec. of State Hilary Clinton was praising Israeli's latest sham offers to maybe-someday-for a while, perhaps slow down construction on new settlements. She called this sham an "unprecedented offer," and then tried to press the Palestinians into accepting it as enough good faith to renew so-called peace talks. But even the puppet Palestinian government said no: Freeze all settlement expansion now is their condition to restart so-called peace talks. This Israeli favoritism also angered every Arab who could read. So Clinton had to backtrack, double-talk and was given a script to read: this clip. The truth is Israeli's policy is to kill as many Palestinians as necessary, destroy their homes, farms, industry, water and power supplies, sacred sites -- hinder travel and work, starve the Gaza strip to death until all Palestinians give up and move out. That IS the policy. Negotiations should be called: Eviction Talks,

POPSNew Israeli "Pretenses for Peace," Announced
This is a rather ruthless, cynical and cold view of the announced intent to "restart." Israeli-Palestinian, Middle East peace negotiations next month. "Restarting this carousel first begins with the old tune: The Israeli's say the Arabs must make concessions. They ask for these concessions while publicly and actively evicting Palestinian, and expanding their Jewish settlements into former Arab territory. Then the chorus sings: "And what about the 'problem,' of Gaza" --- or the Golan Heights or Palestinian violent resistance to oppression and invasion...all as if these are problems caused by others and nothing to do with their own policies of fascism, apartheid, collective punishment and Palestinian genocide. Now, everybody sing: "All we are saying is, give peace a chance." BUT - the "problem" of Gaza is that one and a half million people are being starved to death in front of the eyes of the world, for the last two years, due to an Israeli blockade. Stopping that woul

POPS Secret memo shows Israel knew Settlements were illegal The argument that the settlements are illegal, stated in successive UN resolutions, and by the International Court of Justice advisory opinion condemning the separation barrier in 2004, is reinforced by such an authoritative source. It strengthens the political case in any "final status" negotiations on borders with the Palestinians for genuinely equitable land swaps of Israeli territory to a future Palestinian state if Israel is to retain settlement blocks.

POPSTutu: Gaza blockade "abominable" "All we had heard about conditions in Gaza – deprivation, a sense of despair, the lack of economic activity – had not prepared us for the stark reality which we saw"

POPS800 lb Gorillas Since I've been on this earth there has been conflict here. I applaud any efforts to bring peace but know that it is failed from the start if Israeli complicity in exacerbating the situation with their expansionism is acknowledged and brought to a halt.

POPSIsrael-Palestine Peace & the language of violence While the majority of Israelis and Palestinians, and most of the people of the earth want peace in the region, this wish is counter to the actions of specific sectors, and the polarised language of violence and hatred is the voice that is the loudest.

POPSTalks of partitioning Jerusalem However A spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert denied an assertion by an Olmert confidant that his government would support a partition of Jerusalem to help pave the way toward peace with the Palestinians. "The report is baseless and untrue," Baker said by telephone from Israel.

POPSIsrael cool to PA offer of truce for end to boycott But a senior leader of Islamic Jihad, a group that carried out a suicide bombing in Israel in January and did not sign a Gaza truce in November, said it opposed the idea raised in negotiations on finalizing a unity government.
