POPSFt. Hood Shooter’s Computer Reveals al Qaeda Connection
...who requested anonymity as he is not authorized to speak publicly. “The motive behind the massacre appears to be rooted in his ideology, an ideology which was emboldened by online activity,” added this source. As indicated by a ABC News Online article, intelligence sources reportedly had a level of knowledge that HASAN was in communication with al Qaeda assets abroad. The source speaking to this author confirmed that report but went further, stating that this and information similar but not directly related to such communications became a “political issue” between government agencies and officials “at the policy making levels” of the administration. According to this source, the now infamous pre-9/11 walls erected within government agencies have returned, “but this time they are higher and stronger.” “There is an unwillingness to address ‘delicate’ intelligence and security matters by sharing information outside of the beltway and that directive comes right from the top.

POPSOfficials: U.S. Army Told of Hasan's Contacts with al Qaeda
The Associated Press reported Sunday that Major Hasan attended the Falls Church mosque when Awlaki was there. The Telegraph of London reported that Awlaki had made contact with two of the 9/11 hijackers when he was in San Diego. He denied any knowledge of the hijacking plot and was never charged with any crime. After an intensive investigation by the FBI , Awlaki moved to Yemen. People who knew or worked with Hasan say he seemed to have gradually become more radical in his disapproval of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Sunday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) called for an investigation into whether the Army missed signs as to whether Hasan was an Islamic extremist. "If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have a zero tolerance," Lieberman told Fox News Sunday. A fellow Army doctor who studied with Hasan, Val Finell, told ABC News, "He would frequently say he was a Muslim first and an American . .

POPSIran Opposition Finds New Ways to Protest
Khamenei ordered Iran election fraud, says ex-president VIENNA,AUSTRIA Jul 07 2009 Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is personally behind the alleged fraud in the June 12 presidential election, former Iranian president Abolhassan Banisadr claimed in Vienna late on Monday. "The regime is edging closer to the abyss and is holding on to power solely by means of violence and terror," said Banisadr, who was Iran's first elected president following the 1979 Islamic revolution. The regime wanted to keep the population in a permanent state of uncertainty and fear and so systematic terror was institutionally organised and controlled by the regime and Khamenei, he added. "They don't want Iranians to be able to even think about protests in their own homes." Intellectuals and students were the main targets since they were regarded as the driving force behind the resistance, Banisadr continued. "Reformers and liberal pragmatists are to be wiped out."

POPS "ISLAM Submission to God" ADS on Public Transit In America
The “Creeping Sharia” blog had an extensive post about the Ft. Lauderdale bus ads which had some excellent background research on the issue — pointing out, for example, how the ads (and CAIR’s Web site associated with the ads) are insulting and offensive to Christians and Jews. The Creeping Sharia post also has a great deal more evidence conclusively proving that ICNA is an offshoot of Jamaat-e-Islami, the Pakistani religious party seeking to establish an Islamic caliphate. The controversy over the ads in Ft. Lauderdale led the County Commission to consider banning all religious advertising on local buses. In addition to San Francisco and Ft. Lauderdale, the same ad campaign has also appeared in Miami and Chicago. This article says the ads have also run in Orlando, Jacksonville (FL), Portland (OR), and San Antonio. Zomblog readers report seeing ISLAM ads from this campaign on buses, trains and billboards in New York, Baltimore and Seattle. Have you spotted them in your town?

POPSIslamic Organization's Open Letter To President Ignores Inequality, Oppression In its letter, the OIC said, "... Islam is a religion of peace. Tolerance is its benchmark and borne of the very nature of Islam." I believe that is what The Prophet Muhammad taught, yet it is not what most Islamic ecclesiastical authorities (ayatollahs, caliphs, imams and mullahs) have preached, certainly not since the Bahá'í Faith started in the mid-1800s. Its origin was met with one of the most-gruesome persecutions known to humans. So much for words about tolerance; let's see deeds. I suggest the OIC act as Islam dictates and that is to protect all religious minorities. Again, message to the OIC: "... Let deeds, not words be your adorning."

POPSBritish Muslims Doing Their Best To Cleanse UK Of Jews Jews to target over Israel's offensive against Hamas in Gaza, The Sun reported on Wednesday. According to the British newspaper, Amy Winehouse record producer Mark Ronson and Foreign Secretary David Miliband were among names discussed on the online forum Ummah. The report came as a British Jewish watchdog group, the Community Security Trust, said there has been a rise in anti-Semitic incidents in Britain since the upsurge of hostilities in Gaza. Probably just overzealous anti-Zionism. Nothing that a strict regime of sensitivity training.

POPSEx-Muslim Tells Pope Islam Is The Religion Of War
the general interest of Christianity and of Western civilization itself” that the Pope make a pronouncement in “a clear and binding way” on the question of whether Islam is a valid religion. The Catholic Church’s dialogue with Islam is based on the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration on the Relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions (”Nostra Aetate”), which urged esteem for Muslims because “they adore the one God,” strive to follow his will, recognize Jesus as a prophet, honor his mother, Mary, “value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.” The council called on Catholics and Muslims “to work sincerely for mutual understanding” and for social justice, moral values, peace and freedom. Allam told Pope Benedict he specifically objected to Cardinal Tauran telling a conference in August that Islam itself promotes peace but that “’some believers’ have ‘betrayed their faith,’” using it as a pretext for violence.

POPSSecret, Foreign Money Flowing Into Obama Campaign Until recently, the Obama Web site allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Though Gadhafi asserted that fundraising from Arab and African nations were “legitimate,” the fact is that U.S. federal law bans any foreigner from donating to a U.S. election campaign. “All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man, they welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency…” A pair of Palestinian brothers named Hosam and Monir Edwan contributed more than $31,300 to the Obama campaign in October and November 2007, FEC records show.

On July 8, 2008, a National Iranian Oil Company executive acknowledged in the Iranian press that, without significant investment in infrastructure, Iranian oil production would decline each year by 300,000 barrels a day. POPSSince When Has 'Straight Talk' Meant Lies? Baghdad Johnny's been playing fast and loose with the facts lately. Another Annenberg item tells us, "McCain was asked by a New Orleans reporter why he voted twice against an independent commission to investigate the government’s failings before and after Hurricane Katrina, and he incorrectly stated that he had 'voted for every investigation.'" He voted against investigations in 2005 and 2006. When Obama pointed this out, McCain called the truth "tired negative attacks." You stay classy, John.

POPSMcCain misrepresents Obama's stand on naming Revolutionary Guard as terrorists.
Analysis For the past two weeks, presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain and Democratic front-runner (and now presumptive nominee) Barack Obama have engaged in a war of words over their respective positions on Iran. In a June 2 speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, McCain upped the ante, criticizing Obama's failure to support an amendment that called for designating Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, a charge that McCain repeats on his Web site. It's true that Obama opposed the amendment in question. But McCain is wrong to suggest that Obama's opposition had anything to do with the IRGC's designation. And McCain fails to mention that Obama cosponsored an earlier bill that would have named the IRGC a terrorist organization. Wait, What Are We Fighting About Again? Let's start with that whole Revolutionary Guard business. Here's McCain at AIPAC:

POPSAl-Sadr Embarasses US What's Wrong this Picture? The Bush administration negotiates this deal behind closed door, only publicly refers to its terms during the negotiation in "vague" terms, and tells the elected members of Congress it's not their affair and he doesn't need their approval. Yet here is an Iraq Islamic cleric calling for a referendum on the agreement, public protests against it, a media drive opposing it and, if need be, a petition drive to give the people of Iraq a voice on the agreement. How embarrassing for us in the United States. This Islamic theocrat is actually more democratic and transparent than George Bush. If Al Sadr has his way, the Iraqi people will have more say on the US occupation of Iraq than we will. And we liberated them to be like us? LOL!!!
