Discovering Iran's secret nuclear plant has wiped off Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's smile
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-27-2009
Holding court at his hotel, Mr Ahmadinejad said he was looking forward to "free and open" discussions during this week's meeting with six world powers on Iran's nuclear programme. But by Friday, Mr Ahmadinejad's composure looked shaken when he appeared at a news conference shortly after President Barack Obama had disclosed that Iran had been developing a second uranium enrichment facility near the holy city of Qom without bothering to inform the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency what it was up to.

Tehran now has know-how for nuclear bomb
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-19-2009
The document, prepared by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), had not been disclosed to the 35 countries on the organisation's board, but a copy was obtained by a news agency. The internal report summarised everything the IAEA knew about the "possible military dimension of Iran's nuclear programme". It also found that Iranian scientists have studied how to build a nuclear warhead capable of delivery on a missile. They tried to modify a missile so that it could carry a warhead that is "quite likely to be nuclear" and tested the system of explosives used to detonate a nuclear warhead.

Moussavi is no reformer !!
foxyarse
by foxyarse  7-21-2009    2
A quick glance at his bio would convince anybody of that fact. He is perhaps Ahmadinejad Lite, but not the kind of leader that would take on the Theocratic Establishment to make Iran safe for capitalism. Third, Even if Moussavi was a reformer, he would be Iran's reformer. A president for the Iranians, as it should be and not a stooge of the West. And unfortunately being a local reformer means implementing an agenda that may have local traction but foreign opposition. This may include things that Western countries would object to. i.e: the continuation of the nuclear programme and continuous support for terrorist groups. So next time you see an "Iran Expert" on your favourite Tv channel going on about Iran... do some quick research before accepting the good guys vs. bad guys narrative.

Aftermath of Iran Elections
merrie
by merrie  7-2-2009    3
Iran 'disqualifies' EU from talks Britain has denied allegations of involvement in the Iranian riots The EU is no longer qualified to take part in talks on Iran's nuclear programme, Iran's military chief says. Maj-Gen Hassan Firouzabadi, Iran's chief of staff, accused the EU of "interference" in riots which followed June's disputed presidential elections. EU states, meanwhile, are considering withdrawing their ambassadors from Iran in a growing diplomatic row. Britain proposed the step after Iran detained nine of its embassy staff last week. Eight have since been released. The BBC's European affairs correspondent Oana Lungescu says senior officials from EU capitals will discuss the request in Stockholm on Thursday. But diplomats say that Germany and Italy - Iran's biggest trading partners in the EU - oppose it, arguing that channels of dialogue with Iran should be kept open.

Israel launches covert war against Iran
ratilfar
by ratilfar  2-17-2009
"With co-operation from the United States, Israeli covert operations have focused both on eliminating key human assets involved in the nuclear programme and in sabotaging the Iranian nuclear supply chain," she said. "As US-Israeli relations are bound to come under strain over the Obama administration's outreach to Iran, and as the political atmosphere grows in complexity, an intensification of Israeli covert activity against Iran is likely to result." Mossad was rumoured to be behind the death of Ardeshire Hassanpour, a top nuclear scientist at Iran's Isfahan uranium plant, who died in mysterious circumstances from reported "gas poisoning" in 2007.

Iran the Nuclear Liar
benza
by benza  9-25-2008
This Ahmadinejad is the evil man that led the group which kidnapped American Embassy in Iran. They tortured the 55 men and women of diplomats accredited by government of Iran for 444 days. A law breaker is a criminal. Iranian president is therefore an international criminal. How could the world trust a word from him?

'Unavoidable' attack on Iran looms, says Israeli Minister.
righthand
by righthand  6-6-2008    7
"I could not help myself. It is my nature." "Unavoidable" said the Zionists. Then the frog and the scorpion both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river. Self destruction - "It's my Nature", said the Scorpion/Zionists, And just like in 1967 and at Pearl Harbour, the scorpion will strike first. "It's in my Nature" Then the 1967 oil crisis will have been a fireball compared to the glimmer we will have after the Zionist go nuclear. Like their glory in Samson, they'd finish us all off gladly to fulfil crazy predictions.

UN Imposes New Sanctions on Iran--Increases Conflict
blueridge
by blueridge  3-3-2008
As Ron Paul warns UN sanctions are a pathway to wars, and always the new justifications for them, as was the case with Iraq. The UN is not "moderate", or a world savior, it is an arbitrary usurping world governing body stacked with the "powers that be" moving all toward world conformity by either incentive or force. Since the UN was formed, after the WWI League of Nations failed, wars and global conflicts have increased, not decreased. The UN is nothing less than a global "gang" teaming up to suppress and usurp all sovereign rule under the pretense of "democracy" and "world peace", and its tenants are entirely supported by the Bush family and neocons, while their tactics may differ. To suggest that only "UN approved" nations can have nuclear power, even weapons, makes clear their goal of global dominance, as if their ideological dictatorial rule is not tyrannical in nature.

ElBaradei's Real Agenda<>Middle East Forum Website
merrie
by merrie  2-25-2008
On his watch, but undetected by his agency, Iran constructed its covert enrichment facilities and, according to the 2007 U.S. National nieIntelligence Estimate, engaged in covert nuclear-weapons design. India and Pakistan detonated nuclear devices. A.Q. Khan, the Pakistani nuclear godfather, exported nuclear technology around the world IAEA technical experts have complained anonymously to the press that the latest report on Iran was revamped to suit the director's political goals. In 2004, Mr. ElBaradei sought to purge mention of Iranian attempts to purchase beryllium metal, an important component in a nuclear charge, from IAEA documents. He also left unmentioned Tehran's refusal to grant IAEA inspectors access to the Parchin military complex, where satellite imagery showed a facility seemingly designed to test and produce nuclear weapon The IAEA director seems intent on undercutting Security Council diplomacy

Bush Knew Iran Intel Last Winter--Cover Blown
blueridge
by blueridge  12-19-2007
No surprise since Cheney was trying to "fix" the report by strong-arming the agencies for over a year, to delay or alter the report. In fact he did get included the fabrication that Iran had a nuke program but discontinued it in 2003. Liars have to work so hard to cover their tracks. What is amazing is the tolerance or stupidity of the American people and Congress for putting up with it. PERJURY is a high crime, especially to foment war.

British Spy Chiefs: CIA 'Hoodwinked' By Iran
merrie
by merrie  12-10-2007
British spy chiefs have grave doubts that Iran has mothballed its nuclear weapons programme, as a US intelligence report claimed last week, and believe the CIA has been hoodwinked by Teheran. Analysts believe that Iranian staff, knowing their phones were tapped, deliberately gave misinformation The timing of the CIA report has also provoked fury in the British Government, where officials believe it has undermined efforts to impose tough new sanctions on Iran and made an Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities more likely. The security services in London want concrete evidence to allay concerns that the Islamic state has fed disinformation to the CIA. The report used new evidence - including human sources, wireless intercepts and evidence from an Iranian defector - to conclude that Teheran suspended the bomb-making side of its nuclear programme in 2003.

Iran: Cheney caught "fixing the intelligence around the policy"--again!
blueridge
by blueridge  11-12-2007
Yes Cheney is planning to pitch another "curve ball" on Iran's nuclear capability. This article, that has great inside sources (like a good scout), serves up the report on how this game will be played again, this time to justify war with Iran. This is precisely the same tactics he used with Iraq, so that Colin Powell could give "evidence of WMD" before the United Nations, and American people. (The title quote I gave it refers to the infamous Downingstreet Memos quote which proved that intelligence estimates on Iraq for WMD were "fixed" or fabricated, distorted ,cherry picked to create an illusion of danger, and that both American and British governments knew the truth. They lied).

Bahrain's Crown Prince Accuses Iran
merrie
by merrie  11-2-2007    1
“While they don’t have the bomb yet, they are developing it, or the capability for it,” he said – the first time one of Iran’s Gulf neighbours effectively has accused it of lying about its nuclear programme. It is not a position from which to mince words. In an interview with The Times the Crown Prince has become the first Arab leader to jettison the language of diplomacy and directly accuse Tehran of seeking nuclear weapons. The US Fifth Fleet is based here, its main carrier battle group tasked with securing the Strait of Hormuz. The King Fahd causeway to Khobar makes Bahrain a gateway to the richest oil reserves on Earth in eastern Saudi Arabia. There is no suggestion – yet – of an Iranian invasion of Bahrain. But even as the kingdom throws up skyscrapers to compete with Dubai and Abu Dhabi for regional financial dominance, its security forces are on high alert for evidence of Iranian-backed “sleeper cells” that could bring them all tumbling down.

Whoa! The stakes are getting higher! So what does our government do? Allow them to strengthen themselves more, forge more alliances, and wait for their move against the US and our national interests? the security interests of Europe? against Israel? Who, among our Presidential candidates, actually believes they have the wisdom, the fortitude, the power to deal with the major problems waiting for them? Frankly, I don't see any one among them qualified for the responsibility.

Will the 12th Imam cause war with Iran
jatfla
by jatfla  9-27-2007    2
To add to a clip posted earlier about Ahmadinejad and his Islamic eschatology. From the article: "if, as Mr Ahmadinejad claimed in New York, Iran has no interest in developing nuclear weapons, there is every indication that Teheran is preparing itself for war, not least because the clash with Western civilisation that the Iranian president so obviously desires will hasten, or so he believes, the arrival of the 12th Imam."
