POPSDestabilization 2.0 We are being asked to believe that this latest version of the very (very) old program of U.S. corporate imperialism is the real deal. While there is no doubt that the regime of Ahmadenijad is reprehensible and the feelings of many of the young protesters in Iran are genuine, you will forgive me for questioning the motives behind the monolithic media support for the overthrow of Iran's government and the installation of Mir-Houssein "Butcher of Beirut" Mousavi.

POPSHow to get 25,663 twitter followers in 4 days Dupe the lame chatter box loons into believing you differ ideologically from the fascist dictatorship, when in reality you do not. Oh well, here's hoping that the movement in Iran is more than about a disputed election between two similar-minded terrorists.

POPSThe Latest From Iran What should President Obama do about Iran? He can do what he does best: Talk. He should roll out the TOTUS and give the Iranian mullahs and moguls an old-fashioned spanking. Complete with direct quotes from the Koran. Alas, this will not happen. Dr. Charles Krauthammer this week said of President Obama: “All hangs in the balance. The Khamenei regime is deciding whether to do a Tiananmen. And what side is the Obama administration taking? None.” Ouch. I feel the pain not for the target of Dr. Krauthammer’s words, but for the rest of us. 53% of the nation gave 100% of the world a leader of the free world someone who, when danger comes, dares to vote " present. Such a timorous approach to adversity is decidedly James Buchanan-like, as opposed to Harry Trumanesque or John Kennedyesque. There is much intelligence in not taking unnecessary risks. There is greater ignorance in trying to avoid all risks at all times.

POPSIran Turmoil: live "The UK is categorical that it is for the Iranian people to choose their government, and for the Iranian authorities to ensure the fairness of the result and the protection of their own people." He also said Iran was trying to distract attention from its internal difficulties. 1.12pm: Fars News, a mouthpiece for the Revolutionary Guards, is reporting that the BBC Tehran correspondent, Jon Leyne, has been given 24 hours to leave Iran for filing "false news and reports, ignoring impartiality, supporting the insurgents, trampling the rights of the Iranian nation, fanning the unrest and also provoking public opinion". Meanwhile, he says the Balatarin website says that families of those killed in street clashes are being asked to pay between 10m rials and 150m rials ( 611 and 9,165) to retrieve their loved ones from the morgues.

POPS Iranian Twitterers Sidestep News Blackout
"Since the election, we have heard reports that users in Iran are having difficulties accessing Facebook," said Barry Schnitt, Facebook spokesman. "This is disappointing, especially at a time when Iranians are turning to the internet as a source of information about the recent election." Judging by tweets since Friday's election, the censorship didn't slow some users down. Many then tweeted to share their tactics. "Iranelection" was the top Twitter trend for the past few days, and a message thread led by "Persiankiwi" appeared to be orchestrating hacker attacks on official Iran websites while firing off updates on developments in the streets. "We are going offline to get a phone free for calling out," Persiankiwi tweeted at midday. "We are also moving location - too long here - is dangerous." A subsequent Persiankiwi tweet reads: "Attacked in streets by mob on motorbikes with batons - firing guns into air - street fires all over town - roads closed."

POPSDon't Call What Happened in Iran an Election I know this is getting a lot of play right now but I couldn’t help clipping this mainly for the comment about the image of fascism being “Lots of splotchy boys who can't get a date are given guns and told they're special”.

POPSUpdates From Iran: Liveblogging Post-Election Unrest 5:26 pm: Video of Basij firing into the crowds, which led to the attack on the Basij base mentioned below. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1184614595?bctid=26415347001 In addition, the Guardian Council’s spokesperson said on a news show tonight that Mousavi’s letter of protest is too general, and if the Guardian Council does not find fraud in the election process, then based on section 3, article 80 of the election law, Mousavi could be sentenced to 3 years in jail for “Efteraa” (libel). Amazing. Even before the investigation begins, the threats are already starting. 4:58 pm: Larijani sets up a committee to investigate violence in parts of the country According to Hamshahri and other news sources, Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Majlis (parliament) of Iran, has assigned a committee to investigate the recent violent events around the country including last night’s events at the University of Tehran dorms.

POPS??? Reason for MS stealth updates. Wouldn't surprise me. PTB capable of anything. http://www.ziopedia.org/en/articles/war_on_terror/urgent_warning%3a_u.s._preparing_to_disable_iranian_copies_of_windows/ (Original link) It is plausable that the way windows OS has been comprimised could be laying the groundwork for such a scenario. The Corrupt PTB are long term planners. They are capable of ANYTHING. Of course we know who the manufactured enemy they will blame is. It irks me that MS would compromise their OS in stealth mode AGAINST THE WISHES OF COUNTLESS COMPUTER OWNERS. THAT IS NEFARIOUS AND SUSPECT ACTION. MS WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED ON MY MACHINES. MS has betrayed my trust and MS will not be getting my trust back. Neither will my Government.

POPSReinforce the War Powers Clause the text of the email/letter begins as follows: "I’m writing to urge you to add your signature to the Sense of Congress resolution introduced by Congressman Peter DeFazio. This bill would remind George W. Bush that he is legally bound to obtain the approval of Congress before launching a military strike against Iran."
