US Airways Settles Intimidation Lawsuit Filed by Flying Imams

The imams filed suit in 2007 in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, claiming they were unlawfully detained. Details of the settlement were not released, but will be presented to the federal court judge who let the case proceed. "Law enforcement officials did what they believed was appropriate to ensure the safety of travelers based on the information available at the time," said Tom Anderson, general counsel for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in a statement. "We will continue to be vigilant in maintaining the security of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the safety of travelers who use it."... Posted by Robert on October 20, 2009

Sen. Byrd Challenges Obama's Afghanistan Surge, the Forgotten Bin Laden
blueridge
by blueridge  10-16-2009    4
"The reason for the U.S. military mission in Afghanistan has become lost, consumed in some broader scheme of nation-building" Then point blank: "I am compelled to ask: Does it really take 100,000 U.S. troops to find Osama bin Laden? If al-Qaida has moved to Pakistan, what will these troops sent to Afghanistan add to the effort to 'defeat' al-Qaida?" Can anyone answer that, straight up? In other words, it's contrary to their own propaganda. Will Obama listen to him? : Do recall Sen. Byrd's famous "The Truth Will Emerge" speech opposing war with Iraq --which is now entirely vindicated. mark my words, the calculated intimidation that we see so often of late by the "powers that be" will only keep the loyal opposition quiet for just so long. Because eventually, like it always does, the truth will emerge. And when it does, this house of cards, built of deceit, will fall.

GOP member shoots target with Democratic opponent's initials
Lexica
by Lexica  10-9-2009    1
More: Many of the targets were basic silhouettes, though others were figures wearing traditional Arab head scarves, called kaffiyeh, and holding rocket-propelled grenades. Napolitano said the faces of those figures appeared to be white, though he understood why they would be assumed to be Arabs. He said critics of the event are simply angry that a Republican minority continues to exist in such an overwhelmingly Democratic area. "I absolutely have no regrets. I don't care what the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee or any of them say — I know that they're offended by the simple fact that we're here and we won't go away and we won't be quiet," he said. "For the Democrats, who are supposed to be the party of minority rights, they're not being very sensitive to our rights." These people live in bizarro backwards-world, I swear.

Oklahoma To Post Abortion Records On Public Website

If you think this list won't be used to intimidate women and lead to violence, you are either a liar or deluded. The anti-abortion fringe has been killing people and setting off bombs for years. Mark me, the moment this goes into effect, some woman is going to be the target of violence, and she will have been identified by this database.

Merck employees had "hit list" of doctors they sought to "neutralize", court documents reveal

Full article at source. At least eight clinical investigators were threatened or intimidated by Merck, the court heard in testimony. This is congruent with the many reports of academic intimidation by Merck that have already been published on NaturalNews.com and other news outlets. The picture of Merck that emerges from these revelations is a company run by thugs who deal with dissent by seeking to destroy the lives and careers of academics who dare to tell the truth about Merck's dangerous drugs .

Evil Ahmadinejad in Denial as He Discusses 'democratic' Iran at UN

by merrie  9-24-2009    2
Those who stayed had to all but stifle their laughter when Ahmadinejad heralded Iran's recent "glorious and fully democratic election" - a contest that sparked massive street protests, which ended only after Ahmadinejad's thugs brutally beat and killed opponents. "I don't think I have sever seen a walkout of this magnitude," Walter Russell Mead of the conservative Hudson Institute told CNN after Ahmadinejad finished playing to the half-empty General Assembly hall. "It was a speech Adolf Hitler could have given." Outside UN headquarters, hundreds of Iranians picketed the Iranian strongman for much of the day. "He is not our voice. He is not our representative. We want him out of the UN," said Masomeh Ataey, 52, who traveled from Virginia to join hundreds of flag-waving protesters at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. Ahmadinejad insisted his country is ready to shake all hands "that are honestly extended to us," which seemed to be an odd reversal on his comment Tuesday that he'd . . .

Delegates Walk Out On Ahmadinejad
merrie
by merrie  9-23-2009    1
Undeterred, Mr Ahmadinejad went on to accuse foreign troops of spreading "war, bloodshed, aggression, terror and intimidation" in Iraq and Afghanistan. And he also used his speech to brush off accusations that his re-election in June was a fraud, describing the polling day as "glorious and fully democratic". Notably absent from Mr Ahmadinejad's podium address was the subject of Tehran's stand-off with Western powers over its nuclear ambitions. As the Iranian leader prepared to address delegates, the UN Security Council members announced that they were expecting Iran to engage with them on the issue. "We expect a serious response from Iran and will decide, in the context of our dual track approach, as a result of the meeting, on our next steps," Foreign Secretary David Miliband said on behalf of Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States. GOP Lawmakers Protest Gag Orders on Cuts To Medicare Advantage
merrie
by merrie  9-23-2009    3
Medicare Advantage plans, the private insurance plans offered under Medicare, the government program for the elderly and disabled, are targets for cuts in heath care overhaul legislation because they cost more, per beneficiary, than traditional Medicare. On Friday, CMS said it was examining whether Humana violated Medicare marketing rules or other federal laws, and asked the company to shut down a Web site that helped beneficiaries generate letters to lawmakers opposing the cuts, and to stop sending letters to beneficiaries enlisting their support in the fight. The agency sent a letter on Monday to all plans, warning them not to send letters about the proposed cuts and called the effort misleading to beneficiaries. The action came at the urging of Democratic Sen. Max Baucus of Montana, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee , who has proposed Medicare Advantage cuts that are estimated at $123 billion over 10 years as part of his health overhaul legislation.

Holder's Show Investigation Winding Down
merrie
by merrie  9-20-2009
based on the facts or on his political instincts. But a government source asserted that Holder was briefed on some of the details by advisers and that the attorney general was troubled by the material he read. Authorities have not pointed publicly to new evidence or witnesses that would strengthen the cases under review. I'm sure that, like Obama's Gitmo press conference, reopening these investigations was a feel-good announcement for Holder when he made it. Maybe the conclusion of this utterly non-politically motivated investigation will free up enough resources for Holder to voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. As if. Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama
billpar
by billpar  9-14-2009    1
Almost a third of blacks consider themselves conservative according to a Pew Research Center report.. Even a star like Bill Cosby incurred the wrath of the black establishment when he started talking about black families and personal responsibility. As result, he backed off and toned down his message. Recall during the campaign, candidate Obama ruffled Jesse Jackson's feathers when he spoke about personal responsibility among black males. An inadvertently "on" microphone picked up Jackson saying that he wanted to castrate Obama (not exactly in that language). these folks have always been inclined to be quiet because of the social pressures and intimidation. But this is changing. Despite slurs, intimidation, and widely reported physical attacks from union thugs, a few brave black souls have showed up at tea party protest rallies.

Charges Against ‘New Black Panthers’ Dropped
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  9-9-2009
The Obama administration won the case last month, but moved to dismiss the charges on May 15. Aren’t what these guys were charged with federal offenses? These thugs were allowed to get away with threatening voters at polling stations and hate crimes. The acting Assistant Atty General for civil rights Loretta King, a career senior executive service official named by President Obama to temporarily fill the position, ordered a delay after a meeting between political appointees and career supervisors. What could possibly have take place in that meeting to lead to dropping these despicable charges? If anyone knows, please comment and let us all know.

Just Call Him the Green Pitchfork Czar by Andy McCarthy

(I'd wager, the very top) overrode any objections. The issue here isn't process. It's that Obama picked Van Jones because Obama adheres to Jones's Alinskyite views and tactics, and is entirely comfortable with what most of the public would see as the horrifying specter of Jones managing how billions of public dollars are spent. Mr. Jones’s involvement in the 1990s with a group called Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement prompted recent accusations by conservative critics that he associated with Communists. The group, according to a post-mortem written by some of its founders, was an anti-capitalist, antiwar organization committed to achieving “solidarity among all oppressed peoples” with “direct militant action.” Hold on there. Direct-action? The use of intimidation and extortion tactics, including law-breaking, to achieve political results? Where have we heard that before?

And the precedent for tolerating voter intimidation at the polls has been set. Folks, I'll be frank. I don't have a good feeling about this.

Afghan elections: fraud, violence, intimidation
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  8-22-2009    1
This article, from the BBC, is a nice "objective summary." I don't know about you --- and I'm a voter -- but if there was bombs at some polling places, people were threatening to cut my finger off if I voted, and voter fraud by ruthless warlords and their cohorts was pretty much guaranteed, plus a Major Foreign Power was pulling all the strings....it would make it more difficult. Not to mention having to talk about it on forums where cynics say voting is a waste of time anyway. gosh...that's a lot to go through. But, of course, citizenbfk would get to the polls - do or die - that's a fact, jack; that's the way it is. 'Cause, voting is not a waste of time. Even the 'evildoers," and war lords gotta go through the shame of elections. Because it comes down to pushing people around with violence and guns or pushing people around with fear mongering and hate. and fearmongering and hate can be opposed with righteousness and caring...but guns can only be opposed with guns.

The 59-page document talks about using “a grave that is for a number of unrelated persons, excavated mechanically in advance and designed for efficient preparation and use”. Rachel Maddow - America's deeply disturbing racial and violent discourse
Spiritualmonkey

The anti-reform right is using the same violent rehetoric against those in favor of healthcare reform that the anti-abortion movement has embraced for years. And members of that movement have assassinated doctors who performed legal abortions. Think about it. Republicans: YOU LOST THE LAST ELECTION. Both houses of Congress AND the White House. We had an election and YOU LOST. And so y'all are resorting to threats, intimidation, and attempting to derail the discussion rather than participate in it. Inchoate rage at the idea of change doesn't make you right or justified. That John Wayne chaser, that's for you. Get a grip, people. You may not like it, but YOU LOST THE ELECTION. That's how it works. Our next election is just over a year away. America rebelled against England when George III* refused to give the colonists a say in their own government. Y'all were given a say. It's called the 2008 election. WHICH YOU LOST. So why all the violent, revolutionary rhetoric?
