'Conspiracy Would Become Manifest' IF ALL Climate Research Emails Unveiled
merrie
by merrie  12-9-2009    1
Gray warns that the likely agreements coming out of Copenhagen, the cap-and-trade bill before Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency's decision announced this week to treat carbon dioxide as a pollutant "represents a grave threat to the industrial world's continued economic development." "We should not allow these proposals to restrict our economic growth," Gray said. "Any United Nations climate bill our country might sign would act as an infringement on our country's sovereignty." He said he probably would have been concerned about the possibility people are causing serious global climate degradation "had I not devoted my entire career of over half-a-century to the study and forecasting of meteorological and climate events." "There has been an unrelenting quarter century of one-sided indoctrination of the Western world by the media and by various scientists and governments concerning a coming carbon dioxide … induced global warming disaster," he said.

United States Pushing International, Mandatory Copyright Laws. Guilty Until Proven Innocent!
ratilfar
by ratilfar  11-5-2009
"* * Mandatory prohibitions on breaking DRM, even if doing so for a lawful purpose (e.g., to make a work available to disabled people; for archival preservation; because you own the copyrighted work that is locked up with DRM)" Now that is a worriying development. Let see the Teabaggers chew on this. Nah, it's a pro-corporate treaty which enforces American will on the REST of the world, so it doesn't set off the NWO alarm bells.

Illegal downloaders 'spend the most on music', says poll
ratilfar
by ratilfar  11-1-2009
"The latest approach from the Government will not help prop up an ailing music industry. Politicians and music companies need to recognise that the nature of music consumption has changed, and consumers are demanding lower prices and easier access," said Peter Bradwell, from the think-tank Demos, which commissioned the new poll conducted by Ipsos Mori.

Evidence Of Death
aks_sba
by aks_sba  8-4-2009
In the middle ages, famous people who die were often placed on an altar or bier for viewing. In these situations, (e.g., Thomas Becket), chroniclers would note that parasites and other insect vermin could be seen crawling off the dead body. We have our modern technological equivalents: when patent attorneys start crawling out from a company looking to "protect" intellectual property, it's a sure sign of impending doom for the company.

Obama passing new law to allow searching of PC’s, laptops and media devices
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  8-2-2009    9
Searching everyone’s personal files, ostensibly to uncover stolen copyrighted material, is a violation of the constitutionally guaranteed right to privacy. It is circumventing search and seizure rules, designed to protect the public, by allowing government agents to take on an assumptive role that a crime has been committed before there is any evidence of that crime. It is nothing less than the extension of the illegal and immoral warrantless search scheme that Bush and company unleashed on us. The barrier between a free and civil society and the coming police state is falling one rights infringement after another.
