Bill and Melinda Gates pledge 120 million to boost African, Indian farmers
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  10-15-2009    12
Oh noez. Corporate America, Bill Gates, is dropping 120 million to help Africa and India. So liberals, this must horrify you right? Because corporations are "evil" in your nightmares or did you confuse it with an episode of "Fringe". Moan for me libs. Moan about America and whine because Americans, Bill and Melinda Gates, just blew your mind. Where's that fatty Michael Moore-on anyway? Probably sitting in Krispy Kreme or Dominoes Pizza stuffing his fat face. I know this news isn't as important as the Christians eating fried chicken at the Baptist Church, but who could compete with a horror show like that. Waaaaahhhhhh corporations......waaaaahhhhhh Christians........wahhhhhhh Rush Limbaugh.......waaaaaahhhhhhhhhh. Boohoo. Cry me a river.

Lahore girls Iram and Mahwish Sexy Pictures
u4i86
by u4i86  10-12-2009
Iram and Mehwish are Pakibachiyan.blogspot.com readers from Lahore. They love Punjabi music and spicy foods. Both are working in reputable companies, after their jobs they can be often found in Food Street. Lahore is Pakistan’s true food centre. Lahorites have access not only to a large number of Pakistani dishes and Punjabi specialities, it has fast food restaurants, Western dishes, steak houses, pizzas, Japanese, Chinese, Lebanese, Afghani, Thai cooking and even Indian ‘Thali’ and ‘Dossas.’ They say we are food experts. They love Mughal-style Pakistani curries and Punjabi Barbecue and Karahis. In the curry category, the best choice is available at Village, Shezan Oriental, Bellpepper, Kabana, Paradise, Ziafat etc., where you can get reasonably good quality Curries, Biryanis, Nans etc. Dum Pukht (PC) serves some ‘Westernised’ curries. Most dishes are very expensive and lack the true Mughal curry taste. It seems the dishes are made for foreign customers. For the real

Take A Cultural History Disney World Tour Of India
dslacademy
by dslacademy  10-8-2009
On the other hand, India is hardly known for its cuisine. Well it is time now for that fact to change. Today India has fourteen of the top fifty restaurants in the world. Not a bad feat for a country that is not exactly praised for its food. You will find the traditional fare of Disney World tour of India India with Beef Wellington and Yorkshire pudding, but you will also notice a decidedly different flavor permeating India. India has become a very diverse country and with that diversity out comes the flavors of other cultures. Indian restaurants have particularly taken their place in the South of India.

Food of the Week: Cabbage
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  9-7-2009    4
A few quick serving ideas: Cabbage leaves are a great way to inspire leftovers. Spoon some leftovers such as rice salad or a vegetable mixture onto the center of a cabbage leaf and roll into a neat little package. Bake in medium heat oven until hot. Enjoy your easy and healthy version of stuffed cabbage, a traditional eastern European dish. Braise red cabbage with a chopped apple and red wine. This is a child-friendly dish, since the alcohol (but not the flavor or the flavonoids) will evaporate. Combine shredded red and white cabbage with fresh lemon juice, olive oil, and seasonings such as turmeric, cumin, coriander and black pepper to make coleslaw with an Indian twist. Sauté cabbage and onions and serve over cooked buckwheat for a hardy side dish. Use shredded raw cabbage as a garnish for sandwiches.

Millions of salmon vanish from Canadian river
cakebelly
by cakebelly  8-14-2009    1
more (at source): Several theories have been put forward to try to explain the sockeye's disappearance, including that climate change may have reduced food supply for salmon in the ocean, or that they may have been infected with sea lice en route to the Fraser River. Another theory is that the rising temperature of the river may have weakened the fish. The Canadian Government does not know what is killing the fish, but believes the sockeye are dying off in the ocean, not in fresh water, based on healthy out-migrations, said Jeff Grout, regional resource manager of salmon for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

Restaurant review: Burma Superstar's new location in Oakland's Temescal District
Lexica

I so want to try the tea-leaf salad: Left to my own devices, I went for the obvious - starting with the tea leaf salad ($9). The pile of pungent, soft, fermented tea leaves is so alluring I might follow it into a dark alley some night. Arrayed around the tea leaves are small heaps of ingredients of all different textures and flavors - potent dried shrimp and fried garlic slices (too many, really), crunchy split peas, nutty sesame seeds and peanuts, tomatoes, lemons, and on and on, all over a bed of chopped romaine. Tossed tableside, it's a three-ring circus in your mouth.

The children who survive plane crashes
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  7-5-2009    1
"The most miraculous story occurred in 1972 when Vesna Vulovi´c, a 22-year-old flight attendant on a Yugoslav Airlines flight, survived a fall from 33,000ft, a record. The DC-10 she was flying in was blown up mid-air by a bomb planted in a suitcase by Croatian separatists. Vulovi´c was serving food at the time, and the next thing she knew she was waking up on a snow-covered mountain. Of the 28 people on board, she was the only one to survive. Not only had she escaped incineration in the explosion but also crushing from the depressurization inside the plane, asphyxiation caused by the speed of her fall – 200mph – and death on impact when hitting the ground. The snow had cushioned her fall. "
