POPSAn Open letter to Mr. Obama
You have filled your administration with people who hold the most outrageous, insane, and frightening views on everything from our climate to our animals and worst of all, the sexuality of our children. You plainly gravitate toward these radical sorts who have a view of America and the world that I and many other will simply never tolerate. Your intentions have been revealed, and they are divisive and destructive. Do not attempt to distance yourself from the views of Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, and John Holdren. You don’t get a pass anymore. The buck stops with you. If you appointed them, then you believe what they believe. If you think they’re off-base and you disagree with them, then you shouldn’t hire them to do your laundry, let alone fill a cabinet-level position. If they’re on your team, then you’re okay with everything they’ve said and published – period. You’re the one who wanted the job, so stop crying about being unfairly aligned with crazy radical views.

POPSThe "just war" that was illegal and immoral Over the last few days I've been watching, on Sky News, reports on the British inquiry into British involvement in the Iraqi-American War. What I've heard and seen so far has confirmed my impression at the time, back in 2002-2003 -- that there was no real reason for the war other than that the leaders of Britain and the US wanted one. It was George Bush's second, and Tony Blair's third, since he was also one of the foremost proponents of the Nato war against Yugoslavia in 1999 (see earlier post). The inquiry evidence is all couched in careful diplomatic terms, presenting the evidence. But for evaluation of the issues at stake, this piece from The Telegraph, of all places, tells it like it is.

POPSReminding Caesar of God’s Existence Beginning at a meeting in New York in late September, Christian leaders came together across the historic lines of ecclesial difference — Catholics, Protestants, and Eastern Orthodox Christians — to bear witness to three foundational principles of justice and the common good: (1) the sanctity of human life in all stages and conditions; (2) the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife; and (3) religious liberty and freedom of conscience.

POPSIndonesia minister says immorality causes disasters I wonder what his reaction was to the govt being blamed for these natural disasters. Maybe this is his way of deflecting blame. The politician should be attempting to lead the people into this century, not treating them as backward.

POPSWhitman quote & image
American poet Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass, is a collection of poems notable for its frank delight in and praise of the senses, during a time when such candid displays were considered immoral. Where much previous poetry, especially English, relied on symbolism, allegory, and meditation on the religious and spiritual, Leaves of Grass exalted the body and the material world. Whitman was inspired to begin Leaves of Grass after reading an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson which expressed a need for a uniquely American poet. When the book was first published, Whitman sent a copy to Emerson, whose praiseful letter of response helped launch the book to success. Whitman’s hero, Abraham Lincoln, read and enjoyed an early version of Leaves of Grass. Despite such high recommendations, Whitman faced charges of obscenity and immorality for his work, but this only led to increased popularity of the book. Whitman continually revised and republished Leaves of Grass throughout his lifetime, notably

POPSThe Authoritarian Personality: Fear of Change Look At It This Way There is no doubt that the concept of an Authoritarian Personality very accurately describes a very real personality type. But what's truly amazing is that although social scientists have been aware of this set of character traits for half a century, the general public remains almost totally unaware of the mental makeup that governs the thoughts and behaviors of a third of their friends and neighbors.

POPSEurope’s complicity in evil "Nothing is any different under Obama. Obama has escalated war in Afghanistan; started a new war in Pakistan; tolerated or supported a military coup that overthrew the elected president of Honduras; is constructing seven new US military bases in Colombia, South America; is going forward with various military projects designed to secure US global military hegemony, such as the Prompt Global Strike initiative that intends to provide the US with the capability to strike anywhere on earth within 60 minutes; is working to destabilize the government in Iran, with military attack still on the table as an option; supports America’s new military African Command; intends to encircle Russia with US bases in former constituent parts of the Soviet Union; has suborned NATO troops as mercenaries in US wars of aggression." How should Europe react?"

POPSPastor to Obama: Please die, now! The Matthew 15 comment. "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "

POPSAdventures in being Proselytized: LaRouchePAC
LaRouche followers will tell you the only way to learn their ideas is to buy a DVD. The DVD is $25. The conversation you are likely to have with a member of LaRouchePAC on the street is aimed at getting you to either sign up or buy something. They will tell you that the knowledge they have has the potential to prevent a Major Disaster. If they have a solution to save the entire country, isn’t it immoral to charge money for the solution? If you are making the whole thing up, then why are you selling us lies? The most interesting thing about the LaRouchePAC is that despite this immorality and despite the crazy nature of LaRouche’s ideas, he manages to get loads of young people to support him and peddle his weird Nazi-accusations. LaRouchePAC is nothing more than a cult. The outlandish nature of LaRouche’s claims create an us vs. them mentality among his followers. When they face arguments, they turn to other members for support and validation The very core of a cult.

POPSOur Problem is Immorality I am all too afraid that a historian, a hundred years from now, will footnote America as a historical curiosity where people once enjoyed private property rights and limited government but it all returned to mankind's normal state of affairs -- arbitrary abuse and control by the powerful elite.

POPSThe gods of Liberalism Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of “fertility” has been replaced with worship of “reproductive freedom” or “choice.” Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant “gay rights” and “comprehensive sex education.” And, the pantheistic worship of “mother earth” has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.

POPSReligion vs Science "Is God good?" "Er... Yes." "Is Satan good?" "No." "Where does Satan come from?" The student falters. "From... God..." "That's right. God made Satan, didn't he?" The elderly man runs his bony fingers through his thinning hair and turns to the smirking, student audience."I think we're going to have a lot of fun this semester, ladies and gentlemen." He turns back to the Christian. "Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?" "Yes, sir." "Evil's everywhere, isn't it? Did God make everything?" "Yes." "Who created evil? "Is there sickness in this world? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness. All the terrible things - do they exist in this world? " The student squirms on his feet. "Yes." "Who created them? " The professor suddenly shouts at his student. "WHO CREATED THEM? TELL ME, PLEASE!" The professor closes in for the kill and climbs into the Christian's face. In a still small voice: "God created all evil, didn't He, son?"

POPSMedia Censors as U.S. Rabbis Push for Peace in Gaza Note how the MSM media silences these Jews and only publishes the militant or radical Zionist views that defend Israeli aggression with US support. This has been going on along time, until now. Unfortunately, the media, except for Democracy Now! and Pacifica and a few other places, are obliterating the message that many, many American Jews and other religious leaders, spiritual leaders and just American citizens are outraged at the immorality of what is happening.
