POPSOBAMA and the NOBEL PRIZE Granting the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama provides legitimacy to the illegal practices of war, to the military occupation of foreign lands, to the relentless killings of civilians in the name of "democracy".

POPSUN calls on Israel to halt demolition of Palestinian homes
“The UN reiterates its call for an immediate and unconditional halt to such actions and urges the State of Israel to protect the civilian population in oPt from further displacement and dispossession.” Israel occupied the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, in the 1967 war and annexed the latter in a move not recognized internationally. According to Israeli authorities house demolitions are carried out on homes that have been built without official building permits, rendering them “illegal.” But, OCHA said, “lack of adequate planning combined with strict administrative requirements and high fees makes it extremely difficult for Palestinian residents to obtain such permits, leaving them no choice but to build ‘illegally’ to provide shelter for their families. Palestinian families who move outside the municipal boundaries risk losing their Jerusalem ID cards, and with it the right to live in and access the city.” [/quote}

POPSDroves of recruits to ease burden on troops How wonderful is this. We have so many out of work people needing to survive. So they join up in an occupation that may take their lives. Doesn't it just make you proud to be an American. Maybe this was the Bush plan all along. Tank the economy and you will have an endless number of unemployed signing up for your illegal war.

POPSDying for Freedom (Gaza) Died while shouting “we are in a nonviolent protest, there are kids and internationals.” Like most Bil’in residents, and those of other villages non-violently protesting the stealing of their land, Basem was out every Friday, facing live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets, and various types of tear gas. It was the latest high-velocity tear gas projectile which bore into Basem’s chest, just as one did a month prior to Tristan Anderson’s head, rendering him critically injured.

POPSIsrael gives its American sugar-daddy the finger The Israeli settlements are built on illegally occupied Palestinian land. Plain & simple. If it's illegal to start with, why should a settlement be allowed to grow naturally? The Occupied Territories are not part of Israel, they are conquered land. Palestinian land. And international law forbids military occupiers to colonize foreign territory. This the the basic fact that The Israel Lobby 's propaganda campaigns aims to obscure. This is what all those UN resolutions condemning Israel and their brutal Apartheid (the ones the US AUTOMATICALLY blocks) are about. The settlements, and the illegal colonists who live in them, have to go. And don't get started on the "This is the land God promised to us" bullshit. Go ask God for billions of dollars a year, not the American Taxpayer.

POPSIs TV news one-sidedly in support of Israel? The American media gives a wholly one-sided presentation of the illegal occupation of Palestine, no history, no context, to the point where many Americans think the Palestinians are the one illegally occupying land in the "Occupied Territories". Israel is wholly dependent on American money, weapons, and political cover. And keeping the American populace in the dark about what's really going on in our name, with our tax dollars allows Israel to continue it's policy of racism, apartheid, oppression, and ethnic cleansing of the original inhabitants. Israel gets more American foreign aid, on sweeter terms, than any other nation, and more than lots of them pooled together. Wake up, America, and look more closely at what your tax dollars are buying. The slaughter in Gaza was just the most recent.

POPSWhy Too Many Muslims in a Country is Dangerous As citizens of our individual countries, we at times become extremely frustrated by the policies of our governments that we deem unjust. We oftentimes feel powerless to change them as more and more of the governments and the politicians who run them become increasingly subservient to global corporate and banking interests. There is, however, one powerful weapon that if utilized collectively can accomplish far greater positive change than marches, protests and demonstrations. The weapon is the boycott of well targeted products. Below are products and brands of corporations and businesses that are helping Ariel Sharon and Zionist Israel to continue their racist apartheid policies and illegal occupation of Palestinian lands. We are asking you to boycott these products. The products and brands have been well researched. Each of the companies have ties to Israel and support their policies against the Palestinian people.

POPSHow to Destroy the Government in Three Easy Steps
Step 3: Exploit Disaster If you've managed to accomplish steps 1 and 2, people will be in a panic. And we all know that panicky people make rash decisions. Now is your chance to push that unpopular agenda through the cracks - disaster capitalism at its best! Remember how we tricked the populace into an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq to secure oil revenues? That wouldn't have happened if people weren't scared out of their wits by the fright of terrorism. Think people would have gone for No Child Left Behind and allowed tests to replace learning in the classroom? We had to fabricate a crisis (which took years of hard work to create) to push that one through. And you know that there's no way we could take away so many civil liberties with the Patriot Act if the debate was drawn out for weeks under public scrutiny. So there you have it. Three easy steps to destroy the government. If you're an overachiever (you know who you are!), you might even try gi

POPSFEC Investigation Confirms Obama Received Discount Mortgage The FEC's legal analysis dismissed O'Connell's admission. The FEC based its decision to exonerate Obama largely on the fact that Northern Trust claims it provided preferential terms to other "similarly situated borrowers" in addition to Obama. "Now we know for sure that Obama received a discounted mortgage. For the FEC to base its decision to excuse Obama on the fact that a few other unnamed borrowers also received sweetheart mortgages seems irresponsible. Look no further than Countrywide, which doled out corrupt mortgages to numerous public officials, to see the massive hole in that logic," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The fact is Northern Trust's president admitted Obama received the loan, in part, based upon his position. This is improper and almost certainly constitutes an illegal campaign contribution (or gift). The FEC's response is inadequate and does not serve the public's interest."

POPSThe Oscar for Denial And the winner is – The American People
In America too. Somehow we allowed our government to invade a country that had committed no aggression toward the United States. We allowed our government to declare an emergency in order to violate human rights of many thousands of individuals, to commit torture, to incarcerate people for years without trial or hearings of any kind. And today we continue the violence in Afghanistan and Iraq and Pakistan. We continue to jail and abuse individuals without charges. And we all know it's wrong. And it's time to deal with it before our "land of the free" is irreparably compromised. Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy has laid out The Case for a Truth Commission (Time, Feb 20). As Leahy says: "For much of this decade, we have read about and witnessed such abuses as the scandal at Abu Ghraib, the disclosure of torture memos and the revelations about the warrantless surveillance of Americans. We need to get to the bottom of what happened--and why--to make sure it never happens again..

POPSIsmail Haniyeh: My message to the West – Israel must stop the slaughter Our condition for a new ceasefire is clear and simple. Israel must end its criminal war and slaughter of our people, lift completely and unconditionally its illegal siege of the Gaza Strip, open all our border crossings and completely withdraw from Gaza. After this we would consider future options. Ultimately, the Palestinians are a people struggling for freedom from occupation and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of refugees to their villages from which they were expelled. Whatever the cost, the continuation of Israel's massacres will neither break our will nor our aspiration for freedom and independence.

POPS"Occupation 101" [2006 Israel/Palestine Documentary] This is what the American Taxpayer foots the bill for to the tune of $2-3 BILLION EVERY YEAR. This is what Jimmy Carter, The Rev. Desmond Tutu, and people who were there mean when they say "Israel's 40-year-plus military occupation of Palestinian lands most closely resembles Aparthed South Africa". This is what the rest of the world sees, and why they wonder why the American public doesn't see things the same way. This is what the government is buying with our tax dollars, America. Yours and mine. I think it behooves you to take a closer look at what you're paying for. And maybe start asking questions about why we never hear this point of view regarding what we're paying for. The full movie is available online.

POPSUS foreign aid to Israel: Just how much? Everything that Israel does in the occupied territories... All the illegal settlements Israel builds on Palestinian land, all the "jews only" roads that cross Palestinian land, cutting Palestinian communities off from one another and making travel almost impossible for non-jews... Everything that people like Jimmy Carter, The Rev. Desmond Tutu, and people who were actually there says looks frighteningly similar to (and often WORSE THAN) Apartheid South Africa... Is all made possible buy American Tax $$$. So just how much money are we talking about?

POPSLet's work from the bottom up! Those of us who are passionate about ending the killing and illegal occupation of Afghanistan and the incursions into a dangerous zone in Pakistan must tell it to Obama with great numbers and passion. He is WRONG about that policy.

POPSThink we’re tough? Think again
the war is illegal. Therefore, regardless the “provocation,” every person in Iraq who has been killed by a U.S. soldier, or died as a result of the occupation/invasion, has been murdered -- with the blood squarely traceable to America’s hands. So now, we just spill guts. Nonetheless, I’m sure if you look really, really hard, you may find some folks who consider those troops, and tons more like ‘em, to be real Americans, cut from the same cloth as the super-patriot archetype so frequently portrayed and firmly established decades ago by John Wayne. I wonder, though, how many of them would know Wayne never served in the military, receiving not one but two deferments during World War II. In other words, his persona was an illusion. And so, apparently, is the one we Americans have collectively assigned ourselves since childhood, that of liberty’s uncompromising defender who, upon sensing the slightest hint of mortal danger to the Constitution, would, along with a nation full of eq
