POPSThe Oxygen Dilemma: Can Too Much O2 Kill? I've been hearing some climate change skeptics use the argument, that CO2 is a benign gas and therefore can cause no harm to the environment. I clipped this article, to highlight, that whether or not a substance is "benign" or not, or natural, is not the issue. It's the disruption of BALANCE and concentration of various chemicals, that is the issue. Table salt is pretty non-toxic, but concentrations in the body beyond the mere 0.9 percent can kill you, which is why you'd die of dehydration if you drank sea water. We can all agree, that ordinary drinking water is probably the most benign substance we know, yet if you drink too much of it, it can kill you, too. Climate change is about the disruption of the balance of nature, not about the *toxicity* of the chemicals involved, in itself, so THIS particular argument used by skeptics is not valid. Other (esp. political) arguments may be, but not this one. Just sayin'...

POPSTea Parties: The Biggest Mistake We Could Make in 2010 We have a branding problem, at the least, and need to define ourselves outside of the DC Network. If we must have TWO political parties may I humble suggest we name the Dems and Rinos (no difference) as the "Politician Party" and the Tea Partiers, Independents, and libertarians as the "Patriot Party" and then let's rumble. The Tea Party movement in and of itself will be ineffective if it is used as a third party. However, it can be effective at driving the Republican Party more conservative, mobilizing the conservative base and holding elected officals to their more conservative promises.

POPSReport: Bin Laden Daughter Escapes Captors "They are all just innocent victims, just the same as anyone else hurt by the dreadful events of 9/11 and 7/7. These babies and children have never had any education, never hurt a single soul, never trained with any weapons or ever been part of al-Qaeda," bin Laden told the paper. "We just want to be together as a family."............. Osama was a millionaire and his kids are uneducated...yet he educates young, dumb muslims to be martyrs for HIS Jihad

POPSExperience: I fell 6,000 feet and survived
Our plan was to exit at 6,000ft, fly past the steam, open our parachutes at between 150 and 200 metres, and land. But after we jumped out of the helicopter, the plan wasn't followed. I was very focused on my filming and had a viewfinder over my left eye, to help frame the video. To gauge distances, you really need both eyes, and because of the snow covering the volcano it was very difficult to sense height – all we could see was white. Quite suddenly, I realised I could see the texture of the snow and ice, meaning I had two or three seconds before I hit the ground. I can't have been more than 20 metres up. Terror gripped my heart and stomach, the darkest of darkness. Then I had a clear thought of my wife and three-month-old daughter, and was overwhelmed by sadness as I felt the parachute lift from my back. I'd opened it without even thinking, just as you might instinctively hit the brakes in a car, and experienced a brief sense of hope. This is going to hurt a lot, I thought, or

POPSThe painful life of a football player...years later. Though i suppose it shouldn't be surprising, to read the stories of former professional football players - who can barely move and live in constant pain - is extremely disturbing. It seems disgusting that the NFL has turned their back on them. I'm a huge football fan, but i have to admit that i feel uncomfortable being a fan of a sport that will end up leaving so many men practically disabled.

POPSDems/Reps should be wary of wishes on health care. "The dominant issues today are the economy and jobs, and the public doesn't see either party making these a real priority. Further, polls show trust in government handling of domestic issues remains at historic lows. What most voters hear from Washington these days is squabbling over health reform involving a government role they don't trust and don't want."

POPSI Won't 'Vigorously' Back Obama Re-election Bid: Howard Dean SCARBOROUGH: "Not vigorously." Boy, I can almost feel the confetti falling on my head here! My two cents: the MSM has largely been portraying Dean as a principled progressive opponent of ObamaCare. I say that good old personal spite might also be motivating Doc Dean. Remember that it was the very same Robert Gibbs who, during the 2003 Dem presidential primary campaign, was behind a TV ad showing OBL (Osama bin Laden) and suggesting Dean was incapable of protecting American's national security. PBO (Barak 0bama) has also hurt Dean's feelings, snubbing him for the HHS Secretary post which many Dems felt was his due. POPSnetwork traffic monitor In many organizations, when end users complain about slow applications on the WAN, IT staff have no idea why. This is because they have only limited visibility into the types of Internet traffic on the network. Without visibility and control, IT is essentially flying blind when it comes to addressing poor network performance, slow applications, bandwidth congestion or the need to prioritize critical applications like voice over IP (VoIP).
