POPSUgobi elevator Pitch "Every Pleo is autonomous. Yes, each one begins life as a newly-hatched baby Camarasaurus, but that's where predictability ends and individuality begins. Like any creature, Pleo feels hunger and fatigue - offset by powerful urges to explore and be nurtured. He'll graze, nap and toddle about on his own -when he feels like it! Pleo dinosaur can change his mind and his mood, just as you do. " www.pleoworld.com/discover

POPSHunger Can Make You Happy The researchers think that hunger-induced happiness is an adaptive measure. Getting food, especially in the wild, requires concentration, clear-headed perception and often cooperation.

POPSOn the very real possibility of transformational change The most provocative and optimistic article I've read in a long while - points to emergence as a reason to believe in the possibility of a genuine societal transformation. Clip doesn't do it justice - if you're interested in change, go read it. Probes world outcomes, in light of current crises, by thinking on how human systems transform: "Fundamental transformation is not only possible, it is the routine way natural systems evolve. Radical change is as common as grass in world history, because it is as common as grass in the life of all living systems. But here’s the critical point: What unlocks social transformation is a shift in values, because values are at the core of a self-organizing human system"

POPSMy Jesus "Why do you look so much like the world?" Which Jesus do you follow? Which Jesus do you serve? If Ephesians says to imitate Christ, Why do you look so much like the world? Chorus: Cause my Jesus bled and died He spent His time with thieves and liars He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant So which one do you want to be? Blessed are the poor in spirit, do we pray to be blessed with the Wealth of this land Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness Do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand Chorus: And who is this that you follow This picture of the American dream If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side Or fall down and worship at His holy feet Pretty blue eyes, curly brown hair and a clear complexion Is how you see Him as He dies for Your sins But the Word says He was battered and scarred Or did you miss that part Sometimes I doubt we'd recognize Him Chorus: Cause my Jesus would never be acc

POPSPerpetual hunger or a glass of wine? This small clip is from an article about a research study. The study suggests that a compound in red wine (resveratrol) may protect the heart against the effects of aging. I must agree with researchers that going hungry is a rather steep price to pay for longevity. I'm not sure I want to live longer if I have to be desperately pining for food the whole time. But having a glass of red wine? That I can do.

POPSGeorge Carlin's theology I never heard this routine until Carlin died. It's pretty brilliant. If you're religious and easily offended, don't read it.
