POPSThe Death and Life of Great American Newspapers I'm first to admit that my computer has replaced the need to buy papers (Horse Racing Guide aside). It is too easy to see the effects of the political bent of the newspaper owner on the articles. Several versions of a story often need to be read. I can't afford the number of papers I would need, but the computer gives me access. The press maybe has to reinvent itself. There is much talk about American entrepreneurial skills - surely the rewards of keeping the press going would be worth the effort.
