POPSA Year in Bread -- Rolling 'n Doughs, as it were! Imagine my horror after 3 full pages flashed before my eyes, inexorably drawn ever closer, and closer...; alas, farewell friend: uh `mouse ---click! Seriously, is it me, or do the pearls of wisdom sink deeper into the text of each blog posting with an inverse ratio equal to the overall length (i.e. frequency of eff-hurts ex-pended)?

POPSCarly Fiorina "Demon Sheep" Ad Inspires Opponents Campbell leads GOP rivals, trails Boxer in senate race The poll pictures Campbell as the strongest GOP candidate, following Boxer with only 4 points at 45-41 percent. According to the poll, Boxer leads Fiorina, 48-40, and Devore, 47-39. The three Republicans lead Boxer in the Central Valley, the poll found. Campbell is more libertarian that traditional conservative. He is considered liberal on social issues such as abortion and gay marriage, but a strong defender of free enterprise. According to his website, his faculty advisor was Dr. Milton Friedman when he studied for a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois. http://bit.ly/ai3TI1 http://www.examiner.com

POPSFluoride is Killing Us The story of fluoride, a horror story that underpins mood disorders, attention disorders, ill health, difficulties with our children in school. "Men stumble over the truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened."-Winston Churchill- This is a great example of Churchill's comment since the dangers of fluoride have been well documented for many years.

POPSThe Depressing News about Antidepressants Over the years I've read horror stories about the side effects of antidepressants. Supposedly folks believe lifting depression is worth the risk, but now we learn that a placebo does the job, if one can but believe in it, as does psychotherapy in many cases.

POPSLeap for Life, Leap of Death The fire at The Triangle Shirt Waist Company in 1911 was absolutely sickening. But it's occurrence was horrible enough that it was the impetus to finally bring about changes for factory workers in New York, and the State.

POPSCorporate "Free Speech" Dooms USA's Future. This just might be the straw that broke the camel's back of US-insA-nian politics. Congressional trough-feeders must be rubbing hands and licking lips in anticipation of the coming bribes. I'm officially gonna boycott and ignore any election, if at all possible, given that the corporations will be bombarding us with getting that tool Palin elected Prez. Gawd, the horror!... not that the last 10 years haven't been a surreal nightmare. It's just gonna get worse until they've sucked every last dime out of our soon to be fascist (in the true sense--totally corporate owned and run)country. Another Empire falls with a sickening thud. I'm done with

POPSJimmy Sangster: The Man From Hammer In today's post, we have a look at one of those brilliant people who helped making Hammer so famous: Jimmy Sangster, Master of Horror. If you're too young to remember the movies mentioned here, don't worry: you'll still be able to know what we're talking about as we've added the trailers for some of them at the end of the article. If you are old enough to remember those movies then, hopefully, watching the trailers will be a nice trip down Memory Lane...

POPSHorrible Attacks By Children on Children This is so disturbing. It needs very little comment from me as to the horrific nature of the attacks. What I would say is that I heard on the radio this morning that the attackers were allowed to watch pornography and horror movies from a young age, and were drinking, smoking and taking cannabis well before their teens. The authorities were well aware of how these boys lived, yet did nothing.

POPSUS Military hegemony stamps boot in Haiti Neither Bush or Clinton ever respected Haiti's independence. Using them as a front for the USAnian military response, tho welcome for humanitarian aid, also reminds us of the heinous history of US repression of Haiti's people. Is it gonna be the deja vu of the military beast or real altruism?

POPSHaiti: the land where children eat mud This is the most distressing of reads. You can't help but wonder (Why?) after each stressful sentence. The article reports the facts of Haiti but not the whys. Cruelty and worse hopelessness is the rule for the Haitian people. Now after an Earthquake it seems their plight is getting notice. How disgusting that it takes such an act of horror to wake people up. My only hope is that as the dust settles over this devastated land, the world's empathy doesn’t settle with it. POPSHow to Help HAITI "90999" Text To Donate $10
FOX NEWS: Haiti Earthquake Aftermath: How to Help: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,582902,00.html 'WE ARE ON OUR OWN' "So far, they have brought us nothing. We need water, food, shelter, everything, but we are on our own," Malesta added, to cries of agreement from women sitting and lying around her. A major international aid effort has not yet kicked in, although plenty of small groups, many from the United States, have scrambled quickly, moving personnel into Haiti by plane and overland from neighboring Dominican Republic. "The problem is that unlike traditional disaster situations we have few local partners to work with, because most of them have had their buildings destroyed and are looking for their own dead and missing," said Margaret Aguirre, a senior official with International Medical Corps. Haitians are doing their best to survive chaotic conditions in the absence of any clear leadership, said Latin America expert Dan Erikson of the Washington-based
