POPSSmoking Like a Barbecue: WH Homeland Liason Brennan Asserts that the Homeland defense Worked "every other day," in 2009, Just Not on a Major Holiday Over Detroit. http://bit.ly/8xEHKg Abdul mutallab was smoking like a barbecue. Will this performance stand? Nah. The Homeland hearings are starting in January. Brennan will get scorched like Abdulmutallab. It is an election year. They are offering him as the barbecued goat. Enough? Nah. Pass the sauce. (And Brennan's swerve to run Dick Cheney into the ditch is a self-destructive ploy. The clock is running down on Brennan's public role. The resume must already be at Xe.)

POPS“Houston, We Have a Problem” (Connecting The Terror Dots) With regard to the Islamic terrorist literature found at the same location , our own Bill of Rights allows us the ability to possess certain writings within the scope of the law, despite the increasingly unpopular fact under the Obama administration and the reign of Napolitano that we are fighting Islamic terrorists on our own soil. Except for inquiring minds, this story could almost end here. But as the saying goes, “Houston, we have a problem.” Picking up where the media left off, this investigator looked deeper into this incident and the background of the suspect, finding some facts that should raise some important questions about events that have been taking place inside the U.S., and perhaps connect some dots in the asymmetrical war being waged against us by Islamic terrorists from within. POPSDanish Cartoonist Attacked OMG!!! This is awful! What we need to do now, is PANIC! We need to fear all foreigners! We need a "Homeland Security" Department! We need to give up all our rights and freedoms to be able to eradicate these evil-doers!! Why can't WE have a Patriot Act?!? Something needs to be done!! Muslims are gonna chop all our heads off!! Waaaah!! . Oh... wait a minute. We Danes are not as easily spooked as some and we kinda like our freedom of speech and civil rights, etc. Maybe we should just let law enforcement handle this. Yeah, I suppose a more calm, collected and sane approach would be better. .:) http://bit.ly/5CFMjr

POPSConservatives Have To Get Their Act Together
Remember the 3 biggies we are battling in 2010 Republicans and other conservative groups must focus and find candidates that not only can compete and do well in debates and the media but who really do have integrity, a commitment to our constitution and courage to serve. Anyone can find a pretty person and great speaker. Every tyrant I can think of through out our last 100 years was a sensational PR wizard and speaker. America must put a wall of protection against Fundamentalist Islam It is high time America does more than ‘review’ homeland security and watch lists. We must boldly define the enemy as Fundamentalist Islam, taught here and throughout the world. Once we find the courage to declare publicly the truth about the enemy we must then decide vividly and in media to go after Islamic clerics, known Islamic training camps in the US, Islamic agencies that work against our country and Government, ID sleeper cells and their allies. POPSDHS Sec. Napolitano Should Step Down For a while Republicans have called for DHS Sec. Napolitano to step down, but now so are many Democrats. A former police officer or army official should head this department instead of some politician President Obama knows and owes a favor to after she endorsed him on January 11, 2008; on November 5, 2008, she joined the Obama-Biden Transition Project

POPSUnity at Last: Democrats Join Calls for Napolitano to Step Down Following Failed Attack " New Jersey State Senate President Richard Codey, a Democrat, wrote a letter to Napolitano this week calling on her to step down. He said Napolitano, an attorney and former Arizona governor, does not have the experience for the post she is in. "We should have someone who doesn't need to go in there and learn about terrorism, learn about security," Codey told Fox News. " Ok, well, if Codey really means that, shouldn't OBAMA be on his way as well???

POPSThreats to Yemen Prove America Hasn't Learned the Lesson of History It used to be that it was considered unwise to open conflict on two fronts at once. It won't be long before the terrorists figure out that it is much easier and more effective to explode their bombs in airports before going through "security". Rule number one when dealing with hornets is not to stir them up. (Thanks to Liam Fox for the link.)

POPSBREAKING: US Intel Had Info Ahead of Airliner Attack
"The warning signs would have triggered red flags, and the suspect would have never been allowed to board that plane for America." Officials said Obama chose to make a second statement in as many days because a morning briefing offered him new information in the government's possession about the suspect's activities and thinking, along with al-Qaida's plans. Obama's statement showed more fire than he had shown previously about the lapses that allowed the bombing attack to take place and came after his homeland security secretary, Janet Napolitano, had to backtrack on an assertion that "the system worked" in the Detroit airliner scare. Some have criticized Obama for not addressing the issue publicly sooner. An angered Obama called the shortcomings "totally unacceptable" and told reporters traveling with him on vacation here that he wanted a preliminary report by Thursday on what went wrong on Christmas Day, when the suspect carried explosives onto a flight from Amsterdam

POPSYou're in charge - sort of... Terrorism Self-defense on an airliner is admirable but not something to depend upon for security - neither is requiring full body scans. Why? Think about it? We have had nine years to launch some sort of effective national homeland security system. We still don't have one that can even tell us who is who working at airport, seaports, land border crossings. Several billion have been spent on consultants and tests and - nada. The objective of terrorists is to make themselves appear much more powerful than they are to convince politicians and voters to take actions that will exaggerate the importance of the terrorists. Fully fund and cooperate with Interpol to search out and arrest the infrastructure for illiegal actions they are all involved with.

POPSDear Secretary Napolitano: Can you tell me how "the system worked"?
More: Fact: Abdulmutallab boarded Flight KL 588 on Dec 24th with an incendiary device in Lagos, Nigeria - Fact: Abdulmutallab boarded Flight NW 253 on Dec 25th with an incendiary device in Amsterdam, Netherlands - Fact: There was no Federal Air Marshal on board NW253. …My questions regarding Secretary Napolitano’s view that the system worked will probably never be answered, however every time I watch her be interviewed for the past few days I have to wonder what she is thinking dolling out the company line than the system is working. How many red-flags does one need to get secondary screening? How many red-flags does one need to be placed on a no-fly list? I’d think that being on a terrorist watch list; applying for a bogus Visa to the UK; and your father walking into the US Embassy and telling them that his son may carry out a terrorist attack on the US should all be red-flags…but what do I know…The System Worked Happy Flying!

POPSDHS Announces New Security Precaution: Underwear Inspection She also announced that, as part of the new measure, passengers will be required to put their underwear on the outside of their clothes at checkpoints and, halfway through each flight, flight attendants will have each passenger give their bra’s, panties and briefs or boxers to the person sitting directly in front of them “who will wear them for the balance of the flight.”

POPSBalance of Terror: From Detroit City to Ghazi Khan Perhaps most significantly, the non-igniting of the homemade device has "rejuvenated debate ... over the proper balance between security and privacy," the New York Times informs us -- while quoting several "experts" who let us know just which way this "balance" is now going to tilt. These "experts" include Bush retreads like ex-Homeland Security commissar Michael Chertoff, who now dabbles profitably in the "risk management and security consulting" industry -- yet another of our great and good for whom every act of terror (real or imagined, successful or unsuccessful) means boffo box office

POPSFire Napolitano by Jonah Goldberg Probably even fewer think it's fair that they have to take off their shoes, endure delays and madness while a known Islamic radical " turned in by his own father " can waltz onto a plane (and into the country). DHS had no role whatsoever in assuring that this bomb didn't go off. By her logic if the bomb had gone off, the system would have "worked" since it has done everything right. Napolitano has a habit of arguing that DHS is a first responder outfit. Its mission is to deal with "man-caused-disasters" after they occur. It appears she really believes it. If the White House wants to assure people that it takes the war on terror seriously (a term Robert Gibbs used this morning by the way), they could start by firing this patently unqualified hack. Director of Homeland Security Napolitano is on the case...."Gird Your Loins"

POPSDHS Sec.Napolitano: "The System Worked" on Attempted Al-Qaeda Plane Bombing
For the first three months of this administration, they refused to use the word terrorism." Per Napolitano, "the system worked" (see the video, also at peekurl.com/vjvx1c2). Let's Roll 2 by Mark Steyn On December 25th 2009, the government's (post-9/11) security procedures all failed, and the only good news came once again from alert individuals: (Jasper) Schuringa, sitting in seat 20J, in the right-most section of the Airbus 330, looked to his left. "I saw smoke rising from a seat ... I didn’t hesitate. I just jumped," he said. "I searched on his body parts and he had his pants open. He had something strapped to his legs." The unassuming hero ripped the flaming, molten object " which resembled a small, white shampoo bottle " off Abdul Mutallab’s left leg, near his crotch. He said he put out the fire with his bare hands. Schuringa yelled for water, and members of the flight crew soon appeared with fire extinguishers.

POPSHomeland security head: The security system worked If the security system worked, how did this man get past the security??? Does it now consist of one lone, alert passenger tackling the perp? The only good things that happened was the actions of that passenger and the fact that the detonator failed!!

POPS Update: Investigators: Northwest Bomb Plot Planned by al Qaeda in Yemen
Investigators say the suspect, Abdul Farouk Umar Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian student whose birthday was last Tuesday, has provided detailed information about his recruitment and training for what was supposed to be a Christmas Day suicide attack. Hat tip: ABC News Less than two months after 13 Americans were murdered by a militant Islamic fundamentalist, another terrorist attempted to kill several hundred people aboard a jumbo jetliner. The announcement said the device contained PETN (pentaerythritol), which the Justice Department called “a high explosive.” “FBI agents recovered what appear to be the remnants of the syringe from the vicinity of Abdulmutallab’s seat, believed to have been part of the device,” the released added. The government said: “Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, a Nigerian national, boarded Northwest Flight 253 in Amsterdam, Netherlands on December 24, 2009 and had a device attached to his body.

POPSSIG Sauer P-226 Semi-Automatic Handgun The SIG Sauer P226 Handgun has become a top choice of weapon among military and law enforcement personnel, and is becoming one of the most popular semi-automatic pistols on the market among civilian consumers, largely because of its stellar reputation as one of the world's most dependable, reliable, accurate and easy-to-use handguns on the market. The biggest problem with the SIG P226 is the fact that it costs so much. A bare-minimum stock model typically runs at least around $800. Obviously, this is a bit cost-prohibitive for some civilian consumers seeking a weapon for self defense. That said, the SIG Sauer P-226 Stainless is an extremely high-quality weapon that is well worth the cost to one who can afford it. Perhaps the only downfall of this particular model besides the cost would have to be the weight. The P226 is an unusually heavy and bulky gun, which makes it less-than-ideal for self-defense purposes.

POPSOfficials in Southern California Prepare For Inevitable Nuclear Attack, Thanks to SmartPower™
"Hollywood is raising awareness about the aftermath of a mega disaster and what needs to be done to survive," Kondo said. Experts are especially concerned about the possibility that Iran one day could launch ship-based nuclear missiles, said Brian Kennedy, president of The Claremont Institute's Ballistic Missile Defense Project. "The West Coast of the U.S. has limited missile defense against a North Korean missile," Kennedy said. "And, unfortunately, we're almost completely vulnerable to a ship-launched ballistic missile attack." Kennedy is also concerned a ship-launched nuclear missile detonated at a high altitude would create an electromagnetic pulse, possibly destroying electronic equipment and knocking out the nation's power grid - leaving the country with little or no communications and no ability to provide food and water to potentially hundreds of millions of people. http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/0DE6BA09-9CE6-4770-9518-2CF80C3C9054/

POPSIsrael develops 'Kosher bomb' to counter Iranian threat 'It is lawful to use pork chops and bacon if it is for the defense of home and country', said Rabbi Menahan of the Orthodox sect. 'Of course, this can only be considered Kosher in the most dire of circumstances -- which we now have.' Some doubted that this Kosher bomb would be effective, but Nathan was certain it would serve as a deterrent. 'In Islam, anything made from the flesh of a pig is considered to be haram (wrongful, forbidden). If this super-weapon were deployed against Iran, the entire country would become haram, and all those who believe in Allah would be required to drop everything and flee.' In Iran, Ayatollah Wannabe was enraged by the news. 'Now that we know how the Kosher bomb works, we will develop our own counter-deterrent', he said. 'We will develop a 'haram-bomb' based on pork roasts and cutlets, and render Israel uninhabitable for the Jews.'
