POPSBush As The Joker Obama’s predecessor endured 8 Years of Assassination Fascination. Actually, the “Assassinate Bush Chic” began even before the 2000 election, when Craig Kilborn flashed “snipers wanted” under a picture of Bush. So-called “newsmen” like Keith Olbermann repeatedly called the president “a fascist” and “a terrorist.” And Obama supporters can’t handle The Joker and the word “Socialism”? Politics is ugly, and it is often over-the-top but that’s not new. Photoshop happens; it’s a free country. I myself have been photoshopped next to a dancing condom, a commentary on my annoying habit of being a Catholic. Bob Owens amuses himself thusly: Frankly, I don’t get it. One embraces terrorists and madmen, is dedicated to anarchy and the destruction of capitalist society, and sends the population fleeing in horror from his creations. The other is a fictional character played by the late Heath Ledger. http://michellemalkin.com/2009/08/04/how-quickly-they-forget/

POPSMore Red-Baiting of Obama: The "Socialist" Joker Here we have yet another demonstration of lablelling substituting itself for critical thought. Obama gets red-baited once more. It's a pity that Tyler Nixon at Delaware Libertarian isn't an artist because if he were he could do an image of Obama as a fascist, something he labeled the President in a recent post: http://tinyurl.com/nq7bjn Thoughtful criticism must be difficult for these people.

POPSPresident Barack Obama as Joker Several posters of President Barack Obama as Joker, Heath Ledger-style, with the caption “Socialism” have been showing up in Los Angeles and most recently in Atlanta. No one knows who is responsible for this mysterious “political statement”.

POPSMaking Movies: Beyond the Call of Duty Heath Ledger already had a history of drug abuse and mental problems and became so immersed in the unstable personality of the character the Joker that many believe that he became unhinged even further as a result.

POPSThe Heath Ledger Legend Grows With Golden Globe Victory The way Ledger made headlines since his death ran counter to how he’d recently resolved to live his life. In a 2006 interview with the Daily News, the laid-back kid from Perth, Australia, admitted to “not taking things seriously” when he found fame in “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999), “The Patriot” (2000) and “A Knight’s Tale” (2001). “I was youthful and careless and wasn’t attached to anything,” Ledger said. “From 18 to 22, I was living in L.A. with a bunch of friends, partying. I don’t know if I knew, or cared to know, what I was capable of.”

POPS The Riddle Of The Riddler Comedian Eddie Murphy is reportedly playing the role of the Riddler in Christopher Nolan's next Batman film, according to British tabloid the Sun. Johnny Depp was reportedly linked to the role played by Jim Carrey in the 1995 film Batman Forever. Other names attached to the project include Transformers star Shia Lebouf as Robin and Rachel Weisz as Catwoman. Michael Caine and Christian Bale will reportedly reprise the role. The Dark Knight, the Batman film released this summer, has been the most successful film in the franchise, generating more than $500-million in the U.S. alone. It has also gained critical praise particularly for the portrayal of the Joker by late actor Heath Ledger. UPDATE (Thursday, Dec. 18 at 8:20 a.m.) Some people think the rumour is bogus. They are probably right. http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/theampersand/archive/2008/12/18/221144.aspx
