But the deeper question is why the scientists behaved this way to begin with, especially since the science behind man-made global warming is said to be firmly settled. Why did the money pour in so quickly? Because the climate alarm kept ringing so loudly: The louder the alarm, the greater the sums.

Consider the first problem: the economy. Obama's first action was to infuse failing financial institutions with borrowed money, with government strings attached. Had the people in power not been infected with the "control" gene, financial institutions that had made bad business decisions would have paid the consequences, and the self-correcting free-market financial system would, ultimately, have been stronger. The most contentious stories concern global warming, CO2 levels and artic animals dying out as a result. Some others are: ‘The Gulf Stream is not under threat’, I never heard about this one. ‘Organic food is no better for you’, claims that since plant nutrients comes from the air there really is no such thing as ‘organic food. ‘We do not know what causes heart disease’, cholesterol levels are not a factor in heart disease. Many of these ‘debunked’ stories require more research and this clip does not provide any links. So have fun with it.
