POPS'Miracle on the Hudson' Pilot Capt. Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger to Return to N.Y., Cockpit Thursday
He has also been given a spot on US Airways's flight operations safety management team. Sullenberger, 58, had taken a break from flying to write an autobiography and required catch-up training before he could get back in the cockpit. Despite being the nation's most celebrated and trusted pilot, Sullenberger had to go back to ground school, take some new simulator training and fly with a captain from the training department. "The months since January 15 have been very full, and my family and I have had some unforgettable experiences," Sullenberger said in a statement. POPSCadet Choice Award Nominees Announced I can almost promise that the closest votes will be for Tom Cruise or Daniel Craig, not for what the roles actually were but because the cadets almost always pick military roles or as close as they can even if other roles would better suit the criteria. POPShurray for the return of stuntmen (and stuntwomen) For a long time now, I've preferred practical, in-camera effects over computer graphics. The human eye *knows* when it's looking at a real explosion, or a real person getting thrown from a horse, or a real dam collapsing and water gushing through. I doubt the problem of the Uncanny Valley will ever be solved. I kind of hope it never is.
