POPSUnlocked Sony Ericsson W580i With ingenious design traits and a 14mm thin profile, this is an unlocked phone that you can’t afford not to have. It can easily fit in your pocket and the 2-inch screen is good enough to fit a lot of information on it. The internal memory is suitable enough to store a couple songs, but if you are looking to keep your collection on it, then the memory stick micro will have to do. GPRS is onboard for those who need the extra power and while there isn’t 3G, calls still come in very clear.

POPS Who says it's green to burn woodchips? Almuth Ernsting from Biofuelwatch said: "It's almost unbelievable that we're creating vast areas of monoculture, mile after mile, just to be cut down as fast as they grow, to be shipped thousands of miles to be burned just for people's electricity. It just doesn't make sense. What about all the habitat that gets destroyed along the way?" Arrrghhh!!!! Please pass on ... retweet ... whatever. Somewhere I line must be drawn. See how woodlands can support multiple livings, and how complex they really are... www.worldwidewood.wordpress.com.

POPSTips for winter bike riding More: And what of darkness?… accident stats show that is unlikely. Far more collisions occur when a car turns in front of a bike—which means that bikes need headlights more than they need taillights. As for reflectors and reflective clothing, they only show when you're directly in the beams, so they won't prevent as many accidents as lights and bright colors such as yellow or light green (but not red, which the eye doesn't easily see in the dark). Bluish-white LEDs arrived on the scene a few years ago, but the original red LED color is still the brightest. This makes small, battery-powered LED "blinkies" great as taillights, but marginal as headlights. A better choice is a halogen system. For city riding, it's more important to point it up, where it shines in drivers' eyes, so they see you, rather than down onto the road, which is already illuminated by streetlights and house lights. Look for something that puts out at least ten watts.
