Obama’s Energy Czar: Socialist Agent For World Government Socialist International
merrie
by merrie  10-18-2009    1
Barack Obama’s “climate czar" Carol Browner has been exposed as being a member of Socialist International, a highly influential group headed by a Bilderberg Group luminary that calls for the implementation of global government, despite Socialist International’s attempts to seemingly “memory-hole” information about Browner on their website. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that Obama and his cabinet are preparing to exploit fearmongering about global warming to push new measures of taxation, regulation and internationalism. Obama himself has vigorously promoted the revival of a bill that would slash carbon emissions by 80 per cent, a move that would inflict a new Great Depression, cost millions of jobs, and sink America to near third world status. Obama has also publicly stated his intention to create a new infrastructure of “green brigades” and informants to regulate every aspect of our behavior in the name of saving in the name of saving . . .

ACORN Tentacles Spread Throughout White House Staff

particularly targeting corporations like Wal-Mart: What the Obama Administration’s Buffy Wicks did with Wakeup, and it continues to do with an apparent partnership with ACORN, is to engage in a “corporate campaign” against Wal-Mart in an attempt to inflict as much financial stress on its target as possible. For an insiders view of what it is like to be a target of a corporate campaign a good read is Dave Bego’s book, The Devil at My Doorstep, a chronicle of the shameless three-year corporate campaign he and his employees endured. These corporate campaigns are not about worker choice, they are about inflicting financial costs and public image damages to companies like Bego’s and Wal-Mart. Essentially, this means that Buffy Wicks was a professional troublemaker hired by Big Labor to work hand-in-hand with ACORN in an effort to inflict pain to bring one of the nation’s largest employers to its knees. So far, the efforts by Wicks and ACORN have only served to reduce . . .

proposed healthcare overhaul, in which some conservatives accused him of socialism. Obama’s ratings seem likely to rise again if he wins passage of healthcare legislation this fall. One such episode came to a head Sunday when Van Jones, Obama’s green jobs czar, resigned after a week of criticism over past inflammatory statements and for signing onto conspiracy theories questioning whether the U.S. government played a role in the Sept. 11 attacks. In another episode, some conservatives have criticized a White House dinner invitation issued to the lead lawyer in the American Civil Liberties Union lawsuits that have forced the government to disclose Bush-era interrogation techniques. The lawyer was invited to an event for the Muslim holiday of Ramadan. And Obama’s plan to address the nation’s schoolchildren Tuesday has prompted an outcry among some conservative parents and GOP officials. Some of them have accused the White House of trying to infuse “socialism”

Special Report Panel Says Van Jones is a "Whack Job"; Has to Go - Video 9/3/09

by merrie  9-4-2009    2
Of course, the elephant in the room is that a radical like Van Jones was hired by President Obama because Obama is totally comfortable with him. It is impossible to believe Obama did not know about Jones' radical views. Just like Obama knew about Rev. Wright's radical views, and Father Pfleger's radical views, and radical William Ayers, he knew exactly who he was asking to join his administration. President Barack Obama is comfortable with radicals because he has a radical agenda himself. The American people are waking up to this reality that so many tried to warn about during the 2008 campaign. People did not want to believe it, but Obama's actions and decisions - decisions like hiring Van Jones - are making millions of people believers now.

Sunday Talk Muddles Obama's Message
merrie
by merrie  8-23-2009    2
Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner and chief economic adviser Lawrence H. Summers managed to convey that the president was not ruling out a middle-class tax increase. That evidently was not what the White House had in mind. On Monday, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs bluntly fielded reporters' repeated questions about the tax remarks. "Let me be precise," Mr. Gibbs said. "The president's clear commitment is not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year." Last Sunday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told CNN that a government-run alternative to private health insurance was "not the essential element" of the administration's health care plan. The president's liberal Democratic allies perceived her comments as a clear sign that the White House was preparing to concede defeat on a crucial part of his plan. Not so, Mr. Gibbs said the next day, blaming the confusion on the media. He argued that a taxpayer-funded public health plan . . .

AP: NYC mayor restricts idling, but his SUVs do it
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  7-22-2009
The mayor earlier this year strengthened the city's anti-idling law — which allows three minutes of idling — into what advocates call the nation's toughest and promised a public-awareness campaign. The bill limited idling to one minute in school zones and mandated education for taxi driver applicants. "Those of us that want to leave a good life for our children, and want to have clean air for us to breathe, and clean water to drink ... it's incumbent on us to really carry the fight," he said at the signing. the AP spotted one of his SUVs idling for about 40 minutes during a morning event, and 43 minutes more at City Hall. At a morning event this week, idling lasted more than 30 minutes. The following evening, Bloomberg gave a speech in midtown Manhattan while the vehicles idled for 45 minutes.

Cost of each "Green Job" = $800,000
billpar
by billpar  7-7-2009
In addition, about two-thirds of those "green" jobs were just to set up the energy source in construction, fabrication, installation, marketing and administration. Only 1 in 10 of the green jobs created was a permanent job operating and maintaining the renewable sources of energy. Each wind-industry job created in Spain required a subsidy of about $1.4 million. Overall, the average subsidy cost for each green job was about $800,000 (571,138 euros). And to create about 50,000 green jobs, Spain lost 110,000 jobs elsewhere. The high cost of green energy predictably drove energy-intensive Spanish companies and industries out of Spain to countries with cheaper carbon-based energy, while the cost to Spanish taxpayers of renewable-energy subsidies was "enormous There is much more in the report, which at less than 50 pages would make useful reading for our elected representatives.  In fact, they are even telling the EU to forget about any negotiations until they apologize for their meddling in Iran's pure elections, like the provocations Newsweek's Maziar Bahari and all the protester 'confessors' have already testified to on Iran's State-Run Media. We have been down this road before. The diplomats of the 1930s League of Nations overlooked every egregious political and human rights violation in Nazi Germany in order to negotiate peace with Hitler, as Obama seeks to with Iran today. It is a hopeless exercise in futility that can come to no good end. Fortunately, much more sensible heads appear to lead today's Europe regarding the Third Reich of our age. Only Obama and Russia seem to believe in the Chamberlain approach. Yet with the political and financial power each wield at G8, it is unlikely any sanctions would be enacted without their approval. This is their revolution. Let them handle it any way they see fit. But what will most definitely not help the

Earth Treason

by merrie  6-30-2009    3
Eight years later, it’s starting to look like they aren’t anymore. Think about it. Now Krugman’s tossing around the word “treason.” Sounds scary at first, a little cavalier, even dangerous. Sounds like radical left-wing hate speech. It made me worried, because the Department of Homeland Security warned against extremist political hate speech . . . Let’s be real. Krugman is an august Nobel laureate, not some frothing populist wackjob. And it isn’t like total nutcases read the New York Times. DHS was very specific about the threat. It’s from radical right-wing extremists. You don’t have to worry about the left-wing kind. With that kind of weight behind the anti-planet betrayal movement, I’m convinced. I’ve turned the corner. I’m ready to go “green,” but I’m not really interested in pussyfooting around. When someone like Krugman starts using the “T” word, that can only mean it’s time for radical action. No, I don’t mean targeted hits on Earth-hating Republicans or truck bombs

Climate Change Is The Cause For Diminished Winds
merrie
by merrie  6-11-2009    3
The study is going to be released and parts like these will of course be ignored by those wanting to push their agenda. The ambiguity of the results is due to changes in wind-measuring instruments over the years, according to Pryor. And while actual measurements found diminished winds, some climate computer models — which are not direct observations — did not, she said. And One of the problems Pryor acknowledges with her study is that over many years, changing conditions near wind-measuring devices can skew data. If trees grow or buildings are erected near wind gauges, that could reduce speed measurements.

This gem would give the EPA the regulatory reins over hydraulic fracturing — which, if you’ve ever had to deal with them, and if you’ve read the newspapers lately, is code for stopping it.

If all goes to plan, the implications would fairly reflect California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent description of the project as "monumental". Fusion, we're told, could be mankind's salvation – but what are the chances of translating theory into practice?

Remember, it’s the wealthiest nations that have the cleanest environments. So opposing economic development is essentially a vote for foul air and fetid water.

Webb lauded Obama's $800-plus billion so-called stimulus package as "a good bill that will ease the pain of this crisis, create jobs, and begin to reflate the economy." He explained labor unions, which he said were instrumental in Obama's election, must work to keep the White House in check by "exercis an enormous influence on the political process. Never before has a coalition with such breadth walked on the political stage of our country," he said. Indeed, in an article just after last November's election titled, "Special Interest or Class Consciousness? How Labor Put Obama in the White House," Political Affairs reported on polling data released that revealed the extent of union support for Obama. The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, or AFL-CIO, sponsored a poll showing union members supported Obama by a 68-30 margin and strongly influenced their family members. http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=88380

Paving The Way For America's Lost Decade

When you buy a car, you don't stop with the down payment. There are many, many more "payments" to come. How large will these payments be? How long will we be paying them? In the 1990s, Japan's zombie banks contributed mightily to its Lost Decade. In slow, halting steps, America is creating its own zombie army. The results will be the same. Then, speaking of the living dead, there's the Detroit Three. Last year Congress rejected Tennessee senator Bob Corker's restructuring plan, missing an opportunity to craft a responsible rescue for American automakers. So Bush bailed out GM and Chrysler. But this time Obama and Congress will tie any financial assistance to their own political objectives. Thus the American auto industry will remain alive on life support, forced to manufacture green cars that make the Natural Resources Defense Council happy but don't make a profit.

Once the U.S. Government owns the securities (and, thereby, the property) an omnipotent Paulson could essentially take the land out of circulation by "preserving" it as public land. He could even claim — through the economic device of "contingent valuation" — that the acquired land has more value as pristine public land than as, say, an energy or logging project. Contingent valuation uses opinion surveys to value intangible assets for which there is no market, such as scenic views and crystal-clear air. Respondents are asked hypothetical questions like, "How much would you pay to preserve a seashore view from oil drilling?" or "How much is it worth to keep a forest pristine and un-logged?"
