POPSJohn McCain Campaign Takes a +3 Vorpal Blade to Dungeons & Dragons Players Cont.... But it does raise the obvious question: If John McCain were a D&D character, what kind would he be? Our money is on some sort of shape-shifting offshore drill monster. But what you do think? Submit your McCain inspired D&D creature below: Pick a name, decide what kind of damage he can inflict in combat, and don't forget his special powers. Vote on your favorites. Threat Level will incorporate the winning entry into our next dungeon map, which is set in the vast caverns lurking beneath the Old Executive Office Building.

POPSFear Of Change "First, the Democrats have to win the election — and win it by enough to face down Republicans, who are still, 42 years after Medicare went into operation, denouncing “socialized medicine.” Second, they have to overcome the public’s fear of change. " "One more thing: if we do get real health care reform, a lot of people will owe a debt of gratitude to none other than John Edwards. When Mr. Edwards dropped out of the presidential race, I credited him with making universal health care a “possible dream for the next administration.” Mr. Edwards’s political career is over — but perhaps he and his family can take some solace from the fact that his party is still trying to make that dream come true."

POPSDemocrat House "Apologizes" for Slavery This is but another stupid liberal attempt to pander to blacks for their vote this November. The trouble is, the United States Government had nothing to do with "forcing Africans into slavery". In fact it was Arab slave traders who did that. And it was the United States government who went to war to abolish slavery. This government doesn't owe negros an apology. It is the negros who owe gratitude to the United States for the bounty and opportunity afforded them. Another proof that liberals are unfit to run our magnificent country.

POPSClips from The Law of Attraction Esther & Jerry Hicks I came across the Law of Attraction in October 2007 after attending and volunteering at the First Annual Abilene Wholistic Rodeo. It's hard to start at the beginning, because in reality there is not a beginning. Every time I try to pinpoint at which time an event started in my life I realize it always started long before I ever give it credit. Supposedly Esther met Abraham in 1985 and that year I became close friends with Patri whom I met again in July 2007. She in turn brought me to a luncheon in October 2007 where I met Egan Sanders, founder of Abilene Holistic Network, who introduced met to a guide who helped me access my Akashic records.

POPSThe Gentleman's Guide to Tipping I grew up around theatre people (who, almost without exception, all worked as waiters or waitresses at some point), so tipping etiquette was instilled in me at an early age: If you can't afford to tip 15-20% of the bill, you can't afford to eat where you're eating. Choose a cheaper restaurant where you can afford to leave a decent tip.

POPSNever Say Never Like many Americans, I had lost hope that Bush would ever be brought to justice for his lies to the American people and his abuse of the Constitution. I don't wish to jinx things but is this the beginning of hope that Bush will now be held accountable for his crimes? We'll have to wait and see.

POPSObama Rejects Clark's Statement As I posted at the time, Clark's argument was valid, but " probably not the smartest thing to say ." While pointing out that McCain's military experience never really included life or death command decisions, Clark said, "I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president." Not really the best way to put that.

POPSMANDELA Arrives for 90th. Birthday Party Friday's concert coincides with the 20th anniversary of London's Free Mandela concert, which was held to demand his release from prison. He had been convicted as a TERRORIST by the APARTHEID regime. He was freed in 1990 after 27 years behind bars, and was elected South Africa's first black president in 1994. He will be 90 on July 18. He has visited London many times and has expressed gratitude for the constant vigil that was held outside the South African embassy in the city during the APARTHEID years. One GREAT MAN. What if ... .

POPSPoets Will Celebrate Al Gore 1,000 Years From Now Gore spotlights a number of these companies, including Smart Car, Amyris Biotechnologies, Altra Biofuels, Mascoma (cellulosic ethanol), Great Point Energy (biomass-to-gas and carbon capture technology), Altarock Energy (geothermal energy), Bloomenergy (fuel cells), Missole (solar technology) and Ausra (solar technology). Flashing their corporate logos on the screen, Gore states, “Here are just a few of the investments that I personally think make sense. I have a stake in these….” Putting aside the questionable legality of Gore’s promotion of his investments -- conduct that could very well be contrary to federal and state securities laws that forbid an unlicensed individual from promoting unregistered securities to the public -- it seems that it’s important to change the laws so that Gore can expand the $100 million-plus fortune he’s already accumulated since leaving public service in 2001.

POPSSoldier's Angels No matter what you feel about the war, seems to me that making a gesture of care and support to those men and women serving is a great opportunity.....for us. The woman who started this is General George Patton's 'great niece', and apparently just won the title "America's favourite Mom", lol. Just a random clip of stuff from site, much better to go and see for yourself :) www.soldiersangels.org

POPSThe Gratitude Campaign I feel that this is a great way to show thanks and appreciation. I am deffinitely not a champion of this devestating unneccessary war, but these guys and girls are stuck in the middle of it all, and need to understand that we understand, and appreciated what they are going through. This video is only a few minutes long, and there is another shorter version at the youtube website. It would be a good thing if this got passed around, and all of us civilians were prepared for the inevitable time when the troops come marching home. On a personal note, thanks to Don for passing this on to me, and I will do my best to pass it on to others.

POPSThe YANKS Deserved THANKS. A prosperous Ireland provides the model of how peace should be done without invasion or regime change. What worked. Essentially your stick was bigger than the UK stick. Clinton's assertion that Northern Ireland could no longer be treated as internal only and so achieved justice and civil right for ALL in the North and not just the privileged that controlled the apartheid statelet. We Irish don't do bullshit. Those words of out PM were meant, truly. Thanks America on behalf of the 40 million Irish-Americans and the millions back here.
