POPSGorilla poses as prostitute: ACORN tells it to pose as illegal alien instead The "gorilla" responded in perfect English: "Do you take Visa or Mastercard?" "Yes, but not American Express, Diner's Club or personal checks," Riola told the undercover reporter. Digital video was obtained by ABSNN that showed the ACORN staffer pocketing a large wad of US currency, after counting it several times. She then proceeded to fill out the paperwork. "I'll sign it for you, since gorillas can't write, but that will cost an additional $395, monkey," she said. The Crockashit News Network reporter paid the additional money and asked for a receipt, but was denied one due to the fact that ACORN had no such item in stock. "You'll just have to trust us, sugar. Come back in two weeks for your money, less of course, our 58% fee. Now, get your monkey ass outta here,' Riola told the "gorilla."

POPSMad Max Mandates: Mother Of All Unfunded Mandates State budgets would explode"by $37 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office"because they would no longer be allowed to set eligibility in line with their own decisions about taxes and spending. This is the mother"and father and crazy uncle"of unfunded mandates… Governors are not on board: The National Governors Association is furious about Mr. Baucus’s Medicaid expansion, and rightly so, given that governors and their legislatures will get stuck with the bill while losing the leeway to manage or reform their budget-busters. NGA President Jim Douglas of Vermont recently said at the National Press Club that the Baucus plan poses a “tremendous financial liability” and doesn’t “respect that no one size fits all at the state level.” He added: “Unlike the federal government, states can’t print money.”… What do the “beneficiaries” of this government largesse end up with?

POPSHopi Moved to Side with Coal Power Over Its Culture Sad. When marginalized indigenous peoples are forced to extend their marginalization out of need for money to survive in a world not of their making. There are Hopi who warned of this when Hopi and other indigenous peoples were forced by the US to adopt US self-government forms and discard their traditional ways of governing themselves. In the end culture is all a people have to support their sanity and survival - that applies to us as well. Money does not equal culture!

POPSMicrosoft Millionaire: Why I Should Pay More Taxes He wants to rescind the tax breaks given to the wealthy to help the U.S.!? I’ll bet he’ll be banned from the country club and a place at the round table now. The Bush-era tax cuts gave $700 billion in breaks over eight years to those with annual incomes more than $200,000. The U. S. borrowed money to make these tax cuts possible, even as our schools, infrastructure, research institutions and social services were in need of new investments. “Taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized and healthy society. Those of us who have disproportionately benefited from public investments have a responsibility to pay back our society so that others can have similar opportunities.” I like this guy. He says “it is just and fair that our generation make comparable investments in our future to ensure that America continues to offer our children and grandchildren the same kind of opportunities it offered me.”

POPSInformation in the open changes the way business was done in DC. Economic viability will come only through repudiating the unfounded faith many Republicans have exhibited in trickle-down voodoo and unregulated capitalism, paired with self-serving definitions of sound-bite terms such as educational choice. We need a return to an ethic of service, work, and strong family values such as the first family demonstrates. We need to restore confidence - both here and abroad - that the United States is a leading force on economic and moral issues, not a duplicitous, arrogant bully guilty of not practicing what we preach. Obama’s walking the walk.

POPSFailure Reaps Big Rewards for Bank Execs It's a wonderful myth that capitalism rewards success. But when the stakes are high, even when a bust is known to lurk just around the bend, failure is amply rewarded as well under capitalism. That's because the elan vital of capitalism is wealth accumulation per se and not wealth accumulation through success as this story illustrates.

POPSNew York's Governor Spitzer Politically Close To Being Dead Prosecutors from the office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia announced on March 6 the arrest of four individuals connected to an international prostitution and money-laundering ring called the ``Emperors Club.'' The four individuals were charged with using the club to arrange trysts between wealthy male clients and more than 50 prostitutes in New York, Washington, Miami, Los Angeles, London and Paris, the complaint said. Garcia's office said the ``Emperors Club'' took in more than $1 million from its international business and accepted payments in cash. The ring also used an Internet Web site to advertise its services and included photos with hourly rates. The most high-ranked prostitute's fees started at $5,500 per hour, the complaint said. Investigators executed three search warrants on locations tied to the club. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Internal Revenue Service.

POPS"Turkey's" Pardoned: Fowl Game at White House Spared Too The turkey Scotter Libby was pardoned (actually just sentence commuted). These Thanksgiving Birds get off too. Look at the waste of taxpayers money, two turkeys in Florida parade. This is the mentality of the White House. More seriously, the Pilgrims never gave thanks to God in order to pardon illegal conduct in government. Rather, that is why they came here, to escape the corrupt and tyrannical government of England. We have come full circle.

POPSGiuliani Does Vegas, Talks Up Televangelist Support
This article is almost humorous, if it wasn't so serious. The juxtaposition of "Godfather" Giuliani stumping in Las Vegas, with key "business leaders" (why does this seem like Mafia to me?) crows about his endorsement from a televangelist, Pat Robertson. Just another example of how Rudy USES religion as a cloak! Indeed, Robertson and him do share values: i.e. lying, corruption, love of money, untrustworthiness, and love of power at any price. Hopefully this will discredit Robertson, the false-prophet, too. So Rudy bought himself an evangelical priest (watch third party donations from New York come into the 700 club) to cover his many sins--serial adultery included. He calls all this "not being perfect" and the "complexity of human nature". The article also mentions that he admits that talk of Islamo-fascism might be an "exaggeration"; well almost admits it. And then he talks about government spending being worst problem (from an "exaggerated" need for war). He rates a 0 o
